Pal this beautiful!! The vocals are so very sweet as well as the music around it! I just read what you said to Jimmy 3 weeks I would go crazy! Es ist ein Wunder Job, den Sie mit diesem Song absolut wunderschön gemacht haben🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🤗❤️
Thank you so much Kev, that means a lot to me! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and believe me, this one was driving me crazy too. Jill and I actually had a fight about one of the chord changes because she didn't like how much dissonance I was adding with my note choice :-) I reworked it until we were both happy. For comparison, we wrote the other songs super fast. I remember one writing session on a long weekend, we wrote 3 songs in 4 days.
Thank you Andy! I was really happy with this and worked hard on the guitar parts. I made a lot of use of various jazz chords I had spent a lot of time learning back then. This was not long after I had kind of gotten those under my fingers :-)
Thank you Laurie! Jill's a couple of years younger than me but we were both listening to a lot of music from the 80's and 90's for sure. Her ability to come up with melodies and lyrics is really impressive. She and I were often able to write a complete song in one sitting. I'm primarily a guitar player but I did spend quite a bit of time practicing bass and drums too. I have another two songs uploaded here on my channel (also found in the Completed Songs playlist) where you can here me playing everything. I sing on those tracks too.
Thank you Jimmy! This song was a bit different than my usual song that I write. I came up with the bass line first and then crafted everything else around that. It took me several weeks to get guitar accompaniment that worked well with the vocals and then the percussion was pretty easy. I played using brushes on a snare and one crash cymbal. For the vocals, I did this cool reverse delay trick that I learned from my friend. If you listen closely, you'll hear that the slightly quieter vocal actually comes in before the main vocal. So it's not really a delay, it's actually a prequel to the vocal.
@@guitarmeetsscience The trick to doing it easily is take the main vocal track, copy it and then reverse it. Add your delay of choice and print that track out. Reimport it and reverse it again (so it's playing forward). The "delay" will now be coming in before the actual vocal.
Hey Pal, these old tracks of yours are so magical. I can imagine how much love and passion went into them. This one is a so beautiful balld and fitted so well in the early 2000s. Greatt work !!👏👏😀
