An important detail I feel you missed: Discover always presents 3 distinct options. The Tome can give you doubles.This exacerbates the point you make about conjurer giving you the opportunity to take the best option, as the tome may give you 2 (maybe 3?) sub par cards. Nothing worse than 2 arcane intellects in a fatigue situation.
+Robert McLaughlin discover gives you 3 options, tome lets you pick all 3
+doombybbr discover doesnt give u multiples of the same option. Its 3 different cards. On the other hand with the tome you will take 3 spells but there is no guarantee that they will be 3 different cards. U may get doubles. With conjurer this wont happen.
+Alex Paf at least for me discover has given me multiples of same card. Once I used raven idol for spell and got three force of nature as choices .
I feel like Cabalist's Tome is another one of those "this card will be in every single deck if something that's really good in the next expansion/adventure pops up". It's *just* right on the edge now I think. And of course, in Arena, this card is a must pick. May not be the deciding factor in those games, but can probably pull through in a pinch if needed.

When I watch Kripp, I either love watching the full thing, or watching just the Hearthstone action (Skipperino Kripperino). But when I want to hear what He has to say, I put it on 2x speed. Adds humor to completely serious game content. +1 Kappa

Cabalist Tome can also give you double or triple of the same spell. So you can get three fireballs if you are really lucky. That's an important thing to note.
the comparison with conjurer is ok, but he could mention that the tome can give you repeated spells while the discover mechanic does never reveal the same card more than once at the same time it triggers.
You can discover multiples of the same card. I once got 3 force of nature out of raven idol discover to choose from. I guess it's just rare for that to happen.
+Paha33 No, that's a bug that happens when you have Fandral in play. Discover is not supposed to give you two same copies of a card.

Kripp for the last time. The word Hearthstone is because of the word Hearth and stone. It's a stone that returns you to your home (in the game, the tavern > hearthstone) to your HEARTH. it's pronounced 'hɑːθ' not 'hɜːt'. so that makes it HEARTH-stone not HURT-stone.

When I was out of cards in arena and top decked this it was the first time I was happy to see a book.
Once with Cabalist's tome I hit 777, 3 Flamestrikes, I won that game, as having 5 Flamestrikes total makes it pretty hard to lose

I got my first 12 win in arena with a fatigue mage deck, with one nova and double doomsayer as well as a ton of board clears and one cab time. I also had a shitton of healing through tournament medic, that apothecary guy and one of those tuskarrs that heal both.
Man I loved this card, last game I played it generated 3 more cabalist tomes, and basically generated 12 spells!!! Is one of my favorite spells now!!
Had some success with this in arena because spells can be so rare and make all the difference.

Yesterday I got 3 Shatters in an arena game. 1 in 21,000 chance. Completely worthless. Just sat in my hand, but I somehow scraped a close win. Then in the next match I was close to death and got a Cabalist's tomb, into Tomb, into Tomb for the win! This card is nuts!

9:15 THE SYMMETRY
I had an interesting idea for a deck theme. Currently you are limited to 3 cards or choose 1 or completely random, but what if you could call any card (as long as it was part of the theme) by drawing its code with mouse or touch screen. So for example you draw on the screen the spell shape to call a minion (like a triangle), and square for another type, or pentagon for this creature. This would add an interesting twist to the game would it not?
This gets extra value if played with a flamewaker on the board. I prefer it to a 6/3 but a lot of the time the 6/3 saves the flamewaker from being targetted without a mana dump.
I wonder how flamewaker + frost nova would've gone in that 2 card brawl. Probably beat aggro but not ice block.
Just had an arena run with this giving me 2x Echo of Medivh and frost nova. Value up the ass.

Problem is after spending 5 mana you typically have these 3+ mana Mage spells. If it gave spells of any class there are dozens of 1-3 mana spells that would make the card broken as hell. It's still one of my favorite late-end game Hail Mary cards though.

and if you got even more skill in esports the Forbidden Flame is from an Ethereal Conjurer and you gave your opponent a Cursed Blade last turn with your 2-cost Blingtron from Unstable Portal = 20 face damage guaranteed kappa

I remember when this card's preview was released. Everybody was saying how bad it was, and how nobody would play it, and all this mess. I said it had potential, and now people are saying that... and I laugh.

Agro is usualy lots of small minions to rush down your opponent while control is more removal and bigger minions.

How good is xaril? I think it's not a good card. (3/2 for 2 that gives you 2 2-mana spells that are worth 1) = (3/2 for 4 that gives you 2 1-mana spells). it's not worth it
I disagree, the spells are cheap and very helpful with auctioneer. moreover, it's a minions generating spells, thus cycling itself (twice). I think it's balanced, good but not broken.

+Klumb Dolt the strength comes from the synergies (combos, death rattle, gadgetzan, etc) and that it only takes one card spot, allowing you to put in more cards and not take up space with shadowstep and other toxin-similar cards.
