+Skål Rädsla No, I was in possession of this account prior to this event, unfortunately there was a user that didn't know how to use the English language properly.
I would love Mysterious Challenger to be seen more in a positive light. I love his artwork and voice lines and his effect is inherently cool. It's just that the deck he ended up being best in was just dirty good and unfun.
+Corsair Joshua Well now when you play Mysterious Challenger having redemption hit the Noble Sacrifice kind of sucks because all you get is a 2/1. The only time its "Good" is if the MC is killed by a spell and even then you get a 6/1. All in all MC without avenge sucks because the secret combination really doesn't work.
+Josh Sharp Too bad the Reptilia have made it their business to wipe out humanity and rule the Earth from within the hollowed out center of the planet.Who are you? Someone who is being hunted. Investigate 3-11 and Tower 7 was a hologram.
+Håkon Karlsen Pretty much. There are so many okay/good deathrattle minions that can easily replace the old GvG/Naxx Secret paladin cards(Muster, Shielded Minibot, Shredder, Loatheb), then you just add N'zoth and you have a strong 10 drop if it gets to that stage.
+Håkon Karlsen Ye if you just want to rank up, but that's not the point of these videos. Anyone can just net deck off hearthpwn, but we have to remember even those decks came from somewhere. You can also argue why should I play Nzoth pally when I can play aggro shaman.
+hfasoihdi1ha4 The argument for why you should play Nzoth pally or some such is because those decks are actually interesting to play. Aggro decks are painfully boring to play against and painfully boring to play with. The only aggro deck I enjoyed playing was the murloc one kripp came up with, and that's because there are a lot more interesting interactions than most other aggro decks. Even then, I still don't play it much, because I would rather play longer, more interesting matches.
+Hunter of the North you mean control paladin? because n'zoth pally is actually nothing more than that with just a bunch of deathrattle minions and N'zoth ...
Achat sure, but control paladin doesn't have to include N'Zoth. It's just popular at the moment. Also... the deck is called N'Zoth Pally... I know it's a control deck, thats just what it's called.
Thanks Krip. You've been one of the few people to innovate deck archetypes. Everyone else seems to be playing decks primarily focused on the old gods. Would like to see more of this!
+Marco Brosato kripp plays at some weird hours. I just went 6 to 4 today and there was only 1 person somewhat stupid and nowhere near that warlock level.
because having to make a deck that includes 1 tech card that would "counter" only 3 classes in the game is just ridiculous. on top of that, the dependence of drawing 1 card out of 30 or making your deck worse by including 2 of. You want an answer for secret pally: flare. SP is beatable but it's just one of the most tedious deck to deal with; not to mention running a strictly anti-secret pally deck in ladder is stupid. So why just not bring back secret pally, and go back to enjoying playing against every type of c'thun deck, zoolock or aggro 7-7 I mean shaman
+AF ARaider Well I wasn't suggesting teching in a card if your not facing enough of them so ya playing an anti secret deck in ladder would be stupid right now. Flare is a class card so if you don't play hunter and you want to remove secrets than your going to need something else and Eater of secrets fills that perfectly. Plus like any tech card your always going to have the problem of not drawing your outs and it would be the same for flare. That's why you need to hard Mulligan for them if the match up is a problem for you. You would only run two of them if every deck you were facing is secret heavy. One of is fine if they're heavily prevalent but not all the decks. This being said even when secret paladin was in its prime you could get by just fine by just properly playing around their secrets. I'm merely stating that this rampant fear of the deck returning is unfounded when it's lost most of its best cards and now every class has access to a good hard counter to them.
+Gareth Rowbotham Sorry if I sounded rude by the way, that was unintentional. I only brought up flare because I got excited lol but yeah it was a worse option. But that's what makes secret so annoying in general. SP isn't in the meta right now, and yeah I don't see it coming back any time soon, but it's understandable to see people react angrily towards this video; sp was almost traumatic lol
+AF ARaider No problem man, it's text so it can be hard to convey our tone and we've all done it before and probably will again. Also lol people are having PTSD over secret pally. Now that would be an interesting support group for a therapist. I wonder if people wake up in cold sweats with visions of yellow Christmas trees and "Who am I? NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" ringing in their heads.
The pecking order is: Zoo decks > Combo decks > Midrange decks > Basic decks > Maggots > The dirt where the maggots are > Rubbish > Nuclear waste > Recruits > Control decks > Fatigue decks
Right now the cheapest good deck to play is probably midrange shaman, with thing from below and flame wreathed. It's pretty good and I think it only costs like 1600 dust
+Captain_Nerdrage It's a pitty these are almost always aggro decks cause most midrange or controll decks often require one or more expensive cards like legendaries.
I made the deck when the expansion just came out, but I didn't think of the redemption value. I only cared about the tempo, strong 1, 2, 3, etc, and it worked fairly well. The problem is that the secrets aren't that strong to play them. Though it is always fun to try new things out :)
This deck "Secretino Kripperino" as I called it actually works. And It's fun! It's my first Secret Paladin I did not follow the meta before. Of course control decks will absolutely destroy you if they get all the answers when they need them.... Other people get properly confused at your "outdated" plays :)
I remember that tourney. I love how he also said he had never played it but someone he knew said it was amazing so he just went for it. Also i think it was a team league.
@kripparrian Props for bringing up the Xixo fiasco. I distinctly remember this - I believe it was during the finals of ATLC (but might have been the round before)...
I feel like most people who like the playstyle of the original secret Paladin won't enjoy this deck because you can't just mindlessly play top tier threats on curve and win on turn 6.
I love saving the defender with double secrets :) If I have a Steward of Darkshire in play, all the better :) The defender really appreciates the fact he isn't dead as well. _"I LIVE?!"_ 12:50 If he killed your taunt minion with his hill giant, he would of been open for lethal with leroy jenkens.
I feel like a big strength of the deck is being able to utilize wild pyromancer way better. Usually when you'd play a control pally the card would be kind of awkward. You pretty much have to include it because of how good it is with equality but if you wouldn't get the combo you'd have such a bad time making use of the card since you hardly run spells, especially no cheap ones.
+Krunschy It's true. The 1 Mana spells will really help against the aggro warlock matchup as we have seen. I will try to make a deck... Oh god what have I become
You must have gotten pretty lucky those games. I played this exact deck in casual pretty well and I'm currently 0 3 with it. I usually just draw my secrets so mysterious challenger just gets 1 or even none.
+jacobislucas yeah, pure cancer because we get an OP deck for two expansions, bet you didn't care about them playing midrange or control before TGT or control with nzoth now
And thats is how you made yourself look like a fool in the internet, if he played leeroy first it would summon 2 1-1 for kripp, which means his board is full, and nobal sac wont proc if the board is full
Is Rallying blade chosen simply to have greater early game removal rather for it's divine shield synergy? I see the deck used to run more divine shield minions but it seems to have retained it's place with a dearth in the final version.
Think it really is just all that super good stuff paladin got that made secret paladin possible. Minibot and Muster are especially powerful. Just very hard to compete with. Mysterious challenger is really strong in theory, but paladin secrets are generally weak and there is a big opportunity cost putting them into your deck. That is the general balance point of the challenger. Avenge, however, was the one really strong secret. A 6 mana 6/6 that summons a 3/2 would be very, very good already. Taking that secret out of the equation, it feels a lot more fair.
i didn't do the league of explorers so I had to substitute the keepers for a secret eater and another infested tauren but it works fine for me and the secret eater has great utility
That's my thoughts exactly. Why is Standard Paladin so polarized? Either it's "vomit hand, draw with divine favor" retardation or it's superboring residentsleeper grindy drag with heals, doomsayers, pyros, equalities, kodos. It's like wtf where did old school midrange go? I couldn't even find decent lists that don't revolve around said archetypes, had to come up with my own, mostly some divine shield combos. I guess secrets are also pretty good.
dammit kripp. wild was so peaceful, but now since you made a video about secret paladin and remembered everyone about it now it will be filled in wild. thanks :(
You seem completely different from how you normally act on stream.. Chill mah man! I almost thought you were on some kind of stimulant the first time I watched one of your UA-cam vids. :) Edit: You're much more chill towards the end of the intro. Lovely. :)
Omg i just realized that Abusive Sergeant says "Get in there and fight, maggot!" and not as I thought "Get in there and fight, Megan".. I always wonderes who Megan was
I kinda hope this becomes a thing again, so I can make a deck with kezan mystic, flare and eater of secrets. Thats gonna be like the armies of mordor, bred for one cause. To crush their cancerous souls
+Atlas I agree with that statement... the real challange starts from rank 5 and below. All games at this point will be against these few well established decks with people playing them acordingly.. you actually have to work to have a 50/50 win rate, and to have either a F2P account that you played on for a while... or to put some money to get these key legendary cards.... I know so many people stopping to rank up at 5 just to get that chest... Boy - I am actually part of them on some occasions.
...but doesn't this deck just rely on the very powerful cards that it has in common with N'Zoth Paladin? I mean it just doesn't seem worth 8 card slots to fit this whole Mysterious Challenger-secrets interaction. Having said that when secret paladin first came out I thought the deck would never work... so yeah everything I just said is probably wrong, and not only wrong, it's probably the complete opposite.
I make a secret pally deck to see if people would auto concede when i play challenger, win ranked games at rank 10. A week later Krip makes a secret pally vid... hmm
LOL I counter repentance so hard. This deck is a joke...
do you can counter Humility ?
+MagmaRagerino Kripperino What about noble sac ? ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
+Felix Mustermann My eyes are burning.

i had a heart attack when i read the title
Kripp i swear if you bring back secret pally i will destroy you and all your secrets
You don't know where he lives. It's a secret.
+nonamer No one may destroy our secrets
O so you go super scrub mode and play face hunter with flair
And who are you to do that?
+The ass King rick flair
hey guys how it going...

+Corsair Joshua ... your comment with your profile pic, priceless
PRAISE THE SUN BITCHES!!!!!!
it made solaire wipe tears
+Corsair Joshua 6 mana 6/6, draw five 1-cost cards and play them for free.
Yeah no. Maybe if it was a 6 mana 2/2 it would be fair.

+uhkapeli Isnt it just as good/better to just play the a good N'zoth pally deck, then?
Maybe, but this deck seems to be a bit faster. It's just a variant, with the "non-N'Zoth cards" being replaced with Secret Paladin cards.
+Håkon Karlsen Ye if you just want to rank up, but that's not the point of these videos. Anyone can just net deck off hearthpwn, but we have to remember even those decks came from somewhere. You can also argue why should I play Nzoth pally when I can play aggro shaman.

soo.... It's just N'zoth Pally with secrets and mysterious challenger.....
Yeah, that's what makes it secret pally
What did the other secret paladin deck have that made it more of a secret paladin than this version..?
seanmikael nothing really, it's just that N'zoth paladin is already an established powerful deck. Usually his decks are a bit more creative that's all
+Hunter of the North you mean control paladin? because n'zoth pally is actually nothing more than that with just a bunch of deathrattle minions and N'zoth ...

WOW that first warlock was BAD.
+Marco Brosato kripp plays at some weird hours. I just went 6 to 4 today and there was only 1 person somewhat stupid and nowhere near that warlock level.
+Marco Brosato No, he wasn't. Kripp plays at night, so sometimes he meats DRUNK players.
meats lel
Would it be fucked up if I said I was in a horrible car accident but this gives me just as much PTSD as that....
Turn 6 your druid opponent floats 4 mana. OK, things that never happen to me.
Secret Pally vs Zoolock... Old Cancer vs New Cancer.
+Michael Snow Well technically Zoolock is even older than Secret Pally. This is not the first time Zoo has been OP.
+Avery Hall I didn't think it necessary to specify WoToG Zoolock
+Michael Snow Secret paladin cant beat deathrattle deck undertaker KAPPARPIDE
Why is everyone worried about secret paladin coming back? If it comes back just play Eater of secrets. BOOM! Problem solved.
because having to make a deck that includes 1 tech card that would "counter" only 3 classes in the game is just ridiculous. on top of that, the dependence of drawing 1 card out of 30 or making your deck worse by including 2 of. Right after you think you survived cancer
+GlitchedSlayer I feel there is cancer far worse than this.
+GlitchedSlayer Cancer Always comes back... That's the really sad part.
I hated Secret Paladin but this rendition looks really fun.
Can you do a series of the best decks for each class that can be made with the lowest cumulative rarity?
Right now the cheapest good deck to play is probably midrange shaman, with thing from below and flame wreathed. It's pretty good and I think it only costs like 1600 dust
just play any zoo you can come up with. just put as many 1-drops as you can, if you don't have that many cards, and its gonna be fine

Thanks, Kripp. I see this video and the first deck I play against afterwards is exactly that deck!
Me:Please don't make it return,please...
Kripp:None of your businness.
Krip: where has secret paladin gone?
Mysterious Challenger: stop asking question!
I swear... this deck will NEVER die. And now, when Kripp-sensei made a video about it, standard will probably soon be swarming with Secret Pallys.
Except next year it will 100% die because mysterious challenger gets rotated out
loved mid range pally before standard, never liked playing a Dr 6 deck though. might try this one ought!
"Where has Secret Paladin gone?" To Wild...and hopefully it stays there.
I feel like most people who like the playstyle of the original secret Paladin won't enjoy this deck because you can't just mindlessly play top tier threats on curve and win on turn 6.
Kripp's first opponent was like "No, not again!"
I love saving the defender with double secrets :) If I have a Steward of Darkshire in play, all the better :) The defender really appreciates the fact he isn't dead as well. _"I LIVE?!"_
12:50 If he killed your taunt minion with his hill giant, he would of been open for lethal with leroy jenkens.
+Richard Smith He already attacked with it...
+Avery Hall he's saying noble sac saved him
+Avery Hall i hope
Bob Lurben Your right, oops
Redemption + Infested Tauren is actually really good! O_O
Im here before skipperino?
+Kamil - You commented actually in the same minute as him.
+Jonieryk almost
Skipperino is like always the latest kripperino tho.
I'm getting the impression that originality and surprise are the biggest strengths of this deck.
What was the actual deck list? The one in the preview differed greatly from the one in the matches.

Ooooooh THIS is why I've been facing secret paladin all day...
What would be a good sub in for a 2nd Mysterious champ? I'm experimenting with Cairne
please, stop this and play control paladin, uther don't need to be cancer to win
Paladin is pure cancer either way
+jacobislucas Everything in Hearthstone is cancer according to everyone on the internet. Oh, it wins games? Cancer.
+jacobislucas yeah, pure cancer because we get an OP deck for two expansions, bet you didn't care about them playing midrange or control before TGT or control with nzoth now
***** Is secret paladin considered aggro?
***** And what exactly does cancer mean? Can I test if a deck is cancer?
Why no secretkeeper? It works well with low mana secrets
16:54 did you notice that this card was actually a hint for overwatch's tracer?
13:00 He didn't miss lethal, he couldn't kill both the taunt and go face with noble sac.
And thats is how you made yourself look like a fool in the internet, if he played leeroy first it would summon 2 1-1 for kripp, which means his board is full, and nobal sac wont proc if the board is full
+Atlas oh shit you're right man. I forgot that Leeroy spawned two whelps that would fill the board. Thank you man
NEVER SKIP KRIPP!
Other than Mysterious challenger still being an 'okay' card, I think this sort of prooves how annoying deathrattle minions are to deal with.
Thats the whole point of deathrattle minion
12:59 no you had noble sacrifice, he didn't miss
+steven w nvm i'm retarded
+steven w it's not the most obvious a lot of people just don't care enough to remember the battle cry.
+Steven w +Dark Star lol just understood why he missed lethal xD
+Jul Kul took me a second to realize as well.
I was wondering what Kripp meant with this title but then someone whispered me " None of your business"
I've added Cairne and it ruled ...up to rank 15 atleast.
Is Rallying blade chosen simply to have greater early game removal rather for it's divine shield synergy? I see the deck used to run more divine shield minions but it seems to have retained it's place with a dearth in the final version.
What about adding some way of healing at early?
Dunno maybe forbidden healing
Think it really is just all that super good stuff paladin got that made secret paladin possible.
Minibot and Muster are especially powerful. Just very hard to compete with.
Mysterious challenger is really strong in theory, but paladin secrets are generally weak and there is a big opportunity cost putting them into your deck. That is the general balance point of the challenger. Avenge, however, was the one really strong secret. A 6 mana 6/6 that summons a 3/2 would be very, very good already. Taking that secret out of the equation, it feels a lot more fair.
Hey Kripp what do you think about Hex:Shards of Fate? Perhaps make a video about it? Cheers.
Off of a friend's recommendation I built a control secret cthun nzoth pally. It actually works
Why not play reno, leeroy, dragon, nzoth warlock
+IceRagerino Kripperino I had fun with Reno Control Dragon N'Zoth Yogg-Saron Shaman
+IceRagerino Kripperino I would play that but I don't have all of brm. Reno might be good though....
+IceRagerino Kripperino oh wait I was talking about paladin not warlock whatever
"What is dead may never die" - kripp killjoy
funny to see that everyone seems to have completely forgotten how to play around paladin secrets
i didn't do the league of explorers so I had to substitute the keepers for a secret eater and another infested tauren but it works fine for me and the secret eater has great utility
Most Secret paladins switched over to Full N'zoth
Please don't let this be a thing... PLEASE!!
I have been playing c'thun secretdin since day one and its great.
I feel like this would get crushed by a regular Control Nzoth Pally...
Looks like the Pally deck I had to deal with a while ago. Just when we all thought it's gone.
There is a player in koreas ogn league playing a murloc/divine shield secret paladin that looked insane
The title everyone was afraid to see
"I know who you are".
dammit kripp. wild was so peaceful, but now since you made a video about secret paladin and remembered everyone about it now it will be filled in wild.
thanks
:(
Well thats Nzoth Paladin
Well now that this video has come out, eater of secrets will probably get some play.
13:05 he had already attacked with the sea giant I think
13:30 he didn't miss lethal because kripp had noble sac
the only thing going through my head when I saw the title was "no"
This deck would work cause once you use Mysterious Challenger people might have a seizure from the ptsd they got playing in that horrific meta
You seem completely different from how you normally act on stream.. Chill mah man! I almost thought you were on some kind of stimulant the first time I watched one of your UA-cam vids. :)
Edit: You're much more chill towards the end of the intro. Lovely. :)
Shamans ALWAYS has Tunnel Trogg, Totem Golem AND those stupid frost wolves in their opening hand. HOW?
They mulligan for it thats how
+PioMoggo They don't always have it. It just seems that way because you don't remember the times they don't.
As soon as Kripp posts these videos I start fighting them on ladder lol. I just whooped a secret/nzoth pali at rank 5 lol.
Omg i just realized that Abusive Sergeant says "Get in there and fight, maggot!" and not as I thought "Get in there and fight, Megan".. I always wonderes who Megan was
The zoolock didn't miss lethal since the redemption would trigger on the taunt? Or am i wrong?
Your wrong, if he p,ayed leeroy first it fills the entire board for kripp, so nobal sac wont trigger
But wouldn't the taunt get redemption?
I kinda hope this becomes a thing again, so I can make a deck with kezan mystic, flare and eater of secrets. Thats gonna be like the armies of mordor, bred for one cause. To crush their cancerous souls
Hello darkness, my old friend...
I actually ended up playing one of these at rank 16
I played this deck. First modification I made was to remove that stupid Sacred Trial. I raged every time I drew that terrible card.
THIS DOCUMENT LOOKS LEGALLY BINDIN'
There should be a two mana embrace the face Hunter card which gives the enemy hero taunt this turn only.
first game basically just shows that you can be brainless af and still get with zoo to rank 5
Or it shows how easy it is to get to rank 5
+Atlas I agree with that statement... the real challange starts from rank 5 and below. All games at this point will be against these few well established decks with people playing them acordingly.. you actually have to work to have a 50/50 win rate, and to have either a F2P account that you played on for a while... or to put some money to get these key legendary cards....
