I bought one in February, 61 hours currently, extreme economy under 4000 rpm, fuel burn is crazy good, love it so far. Smart raft show 180 gallons burned so far.
well I jumped up to a 26 Tempest and what were the motor another bolt hole and took it back over to the lake. Seems to handle that pitch prop very well the motor is still too hard because every time a pitch the motor up or trim the motor up I should say it jumps up about 900 RPM but the speed stays the same . my Jack Plate is froze up with the big adjustment Bolt running up the center so I ordered a new one and I believe let the murderer is still sitting roughly an inch and a half to high but it does seem to be getting closer . I filled the live well and that helped a tiny bit . The new Jack Plate should be here September 1st I will switch it out go to the lake and let you know what happens . I'm hoping to see 60 mph wide open throttle
At 3:25 shit gets real..... That baby moves out. A lot quieter than the 2-stroke huh? Probably wouldn't quite keep up with that old green Jon boat with the GameFisher 15hp we used to cruise but hey not bad.. :-)
we just got ours with a jackplate on a 18 ft procraft. did yours porpoise at slower rpm. we were riding on flat water. it’s almost to much ass for our boat and we thought about the 200😬😂😂
just put the 150 pro access on my Champion 181 I have the Tempest plus 23 pitch and it will easily over rev to 6,000 RPM. Top speed was only about 55 miles an hour I'm jumping up to a 25-pitch
when the dealer installed my new motor they set too high on the Jack Plate about three quarters of an inch I'm going to lower it today and try again will let you know when I find out . .
I have a 181 i am considering repowering with the same motor since my evinrude blew up. How are you liking it so far? What is your WOT RPM with the 22 tempest? I currently have a 23 tempest plus I am hoping to reuse.
mattalexander54 thanks for the reply, I just dropped my 181 off yesterday to get the 150 pro xs. Luckily fishing isn’t banned in Virginia yet. I have a 23 tempest plus and a custom 25 mark croxton prop I am going to test, I will post numbers once I get the motor broken in. How was the breakin period on the motor? I can’t find much info online about how to break it in.
@@matthewstn The break in was easy, run the motor at different speeds, never at WOT until you have about 10 hrs on it. You can go WOT but only for a minute. I took it easy on mine, baby it.
I have a 1995 181 champion I just put the 150 XS Pro on I also have a 23 Tempest Plus it jumped right out of the hole the top-end was only about 54 miles an hour I'm thinking of bumping up to 25 pitch motor will immediately go to 6000 RPM 23 is just not enough pitch
Do you get a good hole shot I’m looking to buy a 18 ft triton with a pro xs 150 and I just want to make sure it’s not enough engine for that size of a boat
So yes I get an amazing whole shot from this engine it jumps out of the water I have a friend with a 21-ft skeeter with a Yamaha 250 and it outruns that boat and pulls out about six boat links before the skeeter catches up. Top speed on my boat is about 60 miles an hour with half a tank of gas and full gear by myself amazing engine.

@@mattalexander54 thanks I’ve always had merc. Just smaller motors. Will be getting a new Vexus 1980cc with the 150 here pretty soon. I’ve been watching vids and looking for honest reviews.
I would think you should be able to trim that prop up a little bit more start getting a rooster tail and pick up a few more miles an hour . Is that motor on a Jack Plate
I was still in the break in period, o not on a Jack plate it needs one. Runs 61 now, fast enough for me in a 18' boat. Starts to chine walk any faster lol
This 150 has the hole shot torque of a 200 without the top end. An excellent motor.

Sure is nice to be able to talk with your co angler at wot.. nice boat
videos like these drive me nuts, high output engines, high speeds, no life jackets.

@NDS Traveler and at the 4:50 mark we are about 58MPH, it will touch 60 but not to stable at that point 😬. The gamefisher by far superior!!

61 mph with just me and half tank of fuel, but the hole shit is ridiculous!!
