Lew's Rod snap's

while catching this 2 1/2 lb bass I guess I held the Rod to high (high sticking) and the tip broke off about a foot down. Lucky I called Lew's and they totally warrentied it.

Still love this motor? Any issues? About to repower with the same.
Is it still working well?
Yes it is still working great! Happy with it.thanks for watching.
How do I set the auto close after its been open?
How long did it take to float down river?
About 4 hours, but you stop also along the way .
Would like to know about programming the remote.
There is a learn button in the control area, push that then the button on the remote until it's activated.
Hello just bought this unit… can you tell me if the power cable came with the unit and what other tools are needed for installation thank you
No power cable comes with it, you can hook up you own or just hard wire it in. Lots of tools
@@champion18bass51 hey thank you I was able to cut a thick extension cord according to a friend of mine who is a master electrician and problem solved my gate was not made for gate openers so a lot of jankyness had to be done to make it work I posted a video of you want to see the results lol 😂
well I jumped up to a 26 Tempest and what were the motor another bolt hole and took it back over to the lake. Seems to handle that pitch prop very well the motor is still too hard because every time a pitch the motor up or trim the motor up I should say it jumps up about 900 RPM but the speed stays the same . my Jack Plate is froze up with the big adjustment Bolt running up the center so I ordered a new one and I believe let the murderer is still sitting roughly an inch and a half to high but it does seem to be getting closer . I filled the live well and that helped a tiny bit . The new Jack Plate should be here September 1st I will switch it out go to the lake and let you know what happens . I'm hoping to see 60 mph wide open throttle
Top Speed ?
Top speed now is 60 mph, with just myself and half tank of fuel and full gear. I did save 100 lbs by switching to Lithiums.
when the dealer installed my new motor they set too high on the Jack Plate about three quarters of an inch I'm going to lower it today and try again will let you know when I find out . .
Ya know mine was the same, set to high. I was able to lower it but still needs more I think .
just put the 150 pro access on my Champion 181 I have the Tempest plus 23 pitch and it will easily over rev to 6,000 RPM. Top speed was only about 55 miles an hour I'm jumping up to a 25-pitch
I would think you should be able to trim that prop up a little bit more start getting a rooster tail and pick up a few more miles an hour . Is that motor on a Jack Plate
I was still in the break in period, o not on a Jack plate it needs one. Runs 61 now, fast enough for me in a 18' boat. Starts to chine walk any faster lol
Hi does the back sensor Detect the top or bottom magenet
Hi thanks for asking great question. In my situation the bottom magnet is the one when the gate is fully closed the top magnet stops the gate when it is fully open.
So what is the top speed for that 150
61 mph with just me and half tank of fuel, but the hole shit is ridiculous!!
This 150 has the hole shot torque of a 200 without the top end. An excellent motor.
Do you get a good hole shot I’m looking to buy a 18 ft triton with a pro xs 150 and I just want to make sure it’s not enough engine for that size of a boat
So yes I get an amazing whole shot from this engine it jumps out of the water I have a friend with a 21-ft skeeter with a Yamaha 250 and it outruns that boat and pulls out about six boat links before the skeeter catches up. Top speed on my boat is about 60 miles an hour with half a tank of gas and full gear by myself amazing engine.
we just got ours with a jackplate on a 18 ft procraft. did yours porpoise at slower rpm. we were riding on flat water. it’s almost to much ass for our boat and we thought about the 200😬😂😂
What your pitch on your prop? Estimate how much does you boat weight thanks in advance
I am running a 3 blade tempest 22 s.s, as far as weight est. 2500 lbs.
Way to go Matt!
Nice man!
It´s a brilliant machine - I have one exactly like it: ua-cam.com/video/CpZsfQgEots/v-deo.html
I bought one in February, 61 hours currently, extreme economy under 4000 rpm, fuel burn is crazy good, love it so far. Smart raft show 180 gallons burned so far.
Mister Twister? 😉
Nice!
videos like these drive me nuts, high output engines, high speeds, no life jackets.
Fantastic hole shot!
Thanks, 49 hrs on the motor now, no issues.
Sure is nice to be able to talk with your co angler at wot.. nice boat
Nice one!
That thing had really sweet markings!!! Nice Matt!!!
What was you throwing
Cut a senko in half, Ned rig.
Do you see any problems developing in an ice and snow area? Winters here in Southern Ohio can get a bit brutal at times.
I could see how deep snow or ice could affect it, mine has worked great for almost a year best thing I've done.
thank You , I will double check that !
I installed two motors one in front and back of the hse (100’) synced two remotes to each motor why do both gates work at the same time
The remotes are on the same frequency.
Nice Matt!!!!!
Nice! At 2:58 is that a smallmouth? Also, you need to smile more... :^P
Yes it is a small mouth! Catching a bunch this year! I will try and smile 😁 More lol. Thanks
@@mattalexander54 Very cool! Are you targeting them or catching while targeting Largemouths? I have smallies on the river here and at some point will head upriver after them.
@@NDSTraveller I am going for LMB but they seem to be in the mix also. I don't mind a 2 lb Smallie fights like a 5 lb bass!!
Sorry guys , I just don't remember the info on this, all I know is I did a lot of research and looked at forums and found a kit that converted it.
I need the kit for mine can’t seem to figure out what to order can you give me a the information
Well done sir!
Haha! Been there done that bro! I have a little red Diawa rod you can borrow. 😉
I wish I had it that day 🤣
How’s the motor? Any issues so far?
None at all, I have done a oil change and also lower unit and absolutely nothing.
@@mattalexander54 thanks I’ve always had merc. Just smaller motors. Will be getting a new Vexus 1980cc with the 150 here pretty soon. I’ve been watching vids and looking for honest reviews.
Hey, what size prop did you find works best for you boat? I have a 2001 20' Nitro. Currently have on a 20 p stainless.
21 is what we had on our 18 ft. now we have a 150 pro xs same prop. you can prolly take it to a shop and then pitch it different. cheaper than buying a new prop
How do you program visor remotes
I'm not sure what you mean about visor remotes but there is a learn button on the circuit board that you use on each remote to be programed.
Sorry, my boat is 18' 1" Width is 89" and the transom is 18" Thanks
How long is your boat and how wide also how high is your transom
18' 1" 89" beam
Seems like every time it's caught in something, miss those days in that Jon boat.
Well done! We must have fished together as kids. My net is usually in the same place as yours....all hung up.
Nice! I'd love to see a side view to see how much (actually how little) of the boat is actually in the water.
But is it rioter proof?
prob not, but i have other options for that.
@@mattalexander54 You and me both bro... :-)
Whats your top speed? Im looking at getting myself this motor for my very 1st outboard motor.
Full gear, half tank of fuel and by myself it's 58 mph. She now has 30 hrs .
@@mattalexander54 thats fast man i think ima get this motor for my very 1st boat merc pro xs 150
Wish you showed how you did this I have the same outboard that needs new coil packs would like to set it up with cdi
Hey cool I found your channel! How’s the Motorguide and which model? I have the basic X3 but def want a trolling motor with spot lock.
Thanks, the trolling motor is the best thing, it's the XI5 and after 2 years it has been flawless.
mattalexander54 ok great good to know. Which pound thrust do you have and is it 12 or 24 volt?
@@BassRaider it is 24 v and the 80lb. Thrust, it will move my boat 2.1 mph at full throttle.
mattalexander54 ok cool. I have 45 pound and 12 volt and it gets me just over 2 but I will prob get a 55 pound thrust on the new one. Do you use the wireless foot pedal ever or just the remote? Sorry for all the questions
@@BassRaider I do use the foot pedal, not often mostly when it's very windy and I need both hands.
