It's always a plus to have extra hands; how she was using yours to rub salt on the cucumber and when they collab to mix the seasonings is perfect. "I need more!" is exactly the essence of having kids help out and find their love of vegetables and food in general.
I love the way you have included your little angels in making this salad. Awesome...now they for sure will eat their veggies. The recipe looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, your little ones are growing so quickly. You're a good mama to have them involved in food preparation, as they'll grow up with skills and appreciation for the food itself and the effort involved. Thank you for another super video. Love from Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
My heart just melted when I saw Big Sister helping Little Brother help with the spices! You are doing such a wonderful job at being a mum. Gosh, they are adorable. Jenn 💖 in Canada 🍁 ☺

I had four siblings and we fought terribly sometimes, but now? Never. So, it will happen, I promise, but it'll be awhile. Your and your Darling's care and love will see them through the worst of it.
We love this recipe. We don't add salt but add 1 TBL spoon of soya sauce. We also dont dry the cucumber or put them in different bowls. Just throw it in one bowl and mix. Less cleanup. Oishi from Canada!
Today I make your potato salad recipe again and everyone still enjoys it like the first time they taste it 😆 Your recipe is always simple yet delicious!
For the past 4 years, i have seen your kawaii childrens grow up. I've been in your channel right before she was born 💖 it feels good to see ur child growing up, ochikeron-san 💖
That was Adorable ! I love how excited the children are to help. You are teaching them well, they will appreciate food knowing that while it can take work & effort, it is also worth it. I'm going to make this - no Japanese cucumber locally where I am in the US, but English & just regular are available. Thank you for sharing.
Follow exactly your recipe and tried. It taste so delicious and healthy! I'm gonna continuously making it ❤️ . I really love your taste of recipe, following it exactly = delicious meal. ありがとう!
Absolutely loved the tutorial. Your children are so cute. Loved how big sister guided little brother's hand, just like you do hers. And when your son said 'I need more, more' I could quite believe he had 5 onigiri, tho' they must have been tiny!
how time flies soooo fast. now you're not the only one who's making the dishes. bless your family :) thank you for the recipe , I will try this one. Is it okay to any kinds of cucumber if japanese cucumber isn't available at my place?
I hope you and your family are healthy! I’m on lockdown at home and we just happened to have a bunch of cucumbers😅 will be making this for my parents tomorrow!
Hi. I love cucumber and this is a simple recipe. I'm wondering if I could maybe increase the quantity of the seasonings and use the liquid to pickle the cucumber. Do you think it will work?
I do that, too! but a lot of water comes out from thick cucumber slices like these, so don't soak more than overnight. I forgot mine for 12 hours and cucumbers got small. they taste good tho. haha
Hi. I've made cucumber sunomono half a dozen times since I first viewed your tutorial. And I've been making changes, all of which have worked well. The second time I made it, I added 1/2 inch piece ginger cut into julienne. It was good. Third time I left out the ginger and added 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Excellent. Most recently I made it with 250g cucumber, 2 green onions sliced and 2 cloves of garlic crushed. Did not have sesame seeds, so left it out. It came out so good, two of us polished off the whole lot at one sitting. I don't know whether the modified dish is even sunomono, but it's certainly addictive. Oh, and I like the cucumber sliced a little thick. Edit Thanks so much for this simple, quick and absolutely marvelous salad recipe.
When your kids dropped the small glass bowl, that is an accurate representation of me trying to hold onto my grades but failing. I love cucumbers so I'm sure I'll love this recipe!
Is she your baby? Wow she grows so fast! Thanks for your easy to leArn vlog, am a follower since you have not a baby yet, greets from the Netherlands🙏🌼
good question! sometimes I keep it for 12 hours but water comes out from cucumbers and get small... haha so better eat as soon as possible, however after an hour is delicious with perfectly absorbed flavor!
@@ochikeron Oh thank you for your reply! Good to know! I better make it fresh daily for my little ones then. They love cucumbers! What a fun easy recipe.
Haha...your daughter is so cute..she can take over your cooking video soon. Can she speak a little bit of English when doing video tutorial? Your son is a small helper to his sister as well :)
I use rice vinegar. Sour taste is not bad for this recipe but if you think it is too sour for you, then maybe you want to use a different one. Just try and see how you like it then use apple cider vinegar or others?!
yes I used rice vinegar. but here people use white vinegar as well to make sunomono, so you can try with the one you have on hand before getting a new one ;)
Thank you for the recipe!! It looks so tasty. I’m going to try this at home!!! Domo Arigato!!! 😊

I cannot believe how fast your kids have grown up. I feel like it was just yesterday when you had your first kid. You have a beautiful family. :)

my daughter did not want to touch the prickly cucumber 😂(usually we roll cucumber on a cutting board to smooth out the surface)
Such is the warmth of home cooking and training our future chefs. Delightful to watch, this.

I love asian cucumber salad. I just made one and posted a video on my youtube
channel. I'll try your recipe later then...
what kind of vinegar did you use? my local vinegar taste too sour.
I use rice vinegar. Sour taste is not bad for this recipe but if you think it is too sour for you, then maybe you want to use a different one. Just try and see how you like it then use apple cider vinegar or others?!

How long can this last in the fridge if stored in a sealed container? :)
I recommend not to save it over overnight because water comes out from the cucumbers. Rather better eaten soon.
Ochikeron is that distilled vinegar or rice, vinegar?
I use rice vinegar for mine. You can also use white vinegar, but it'll be more sour
Thanks Im gonna go with the rice vinegar

no it can be optional :)
Oh okau
Can those measurements be right? The tablespoon amounts are somewhat smaller than what I’m seeing on the screen? Can you clarify please?
maybe because the vinegar is a bit transparent?
What type of vinegar is it? White vinegar?
yes I used rice vinegar. but here people use white vinegar as well to make sunomono, so you can try with the one you have on hand before getting a new one ;)
