I’m with you…I’d love to be able to control the effects. I’ve been using this board for my live solo gigs for almost 3 years now and it’s great. But for vocals, I’ve been using the TC Helicon Mic Mechanic. The compressor, reverb, and delay are phenomenal.
Lack of parameter control was a deal breaker. Thanks so much for your video, you saved me a lot of money. Nice one Mackie...NOT. No parameter control equals "No Cigar." 👋
So there is no per-channel FX right? You can only have one active effect at a time right? For instance you can't have reverb on ch1 and flanger on ch2 right? Would this mixer be good for karaoke? 3 mics for singers and 1 mic for DJ? Only 2 compressors though so those first 2 should be for 2 of the 3 singers?
thanx for this video it help me decide which one to buy between yamaha or the mackie it will be the yamaha as it's for home karaoke and recording so the effects knob is a plus cheers
is it possible to use backing tracks without the FX whilst still using the FX (Delay etc) for vocals when live as it looks as though the FX would change everything as no options to isolate per input?
Hi nice to watch your video. I'm wanna ask how to adjust FX send & FX return (which knob I should do adjust) to increase or lower the effect volume? Thanks
I have the Harbinger LX12 and I'm barely learning how to use these mixers. Iv'e tried many times to activate the FX effects but they won't come out. First of all the signal light is never on and I don't know how to make it work. Does is have to be connected to the computer or previously recording on a recording software in order to work? please help!!
Hello Love your reviews Thank you I do have 2 questions, if I may 1- does the 12 input work the same way or does it offer more ? More effects...for example 2- I would need to plug: 3 mics 2 guitars 2 mp3 players 2 p.a speakers 1 woofer (All at the same time) Would the 10 input be ok ? Thank you
I'm already having the PROFX10V3. Awesome device. Thanks to Gordon. If you are setting Main FX Level to 'U', then set the Channel FX level at ¼ or at 9 hrs.
Hi. I just bought a Mackie mixer. testing it does not seem to be working properly. The problem I am having is with the special effects. I cannot turn them off on the mains or control the individual amount of fx per channel. It works fine with the monitors which is strange. The problem I’m having is it when I use any of the orange FX knobs to turn down the effect it affects the volume of that channel instead of adjusting the FX level. I am trying this in three places number one the individual channel. Then, number two, I am trying it in the green box for internal “FX to main LR. Lastly I am trying it in the aux master area. When I hit the internal effects mute button it mute the entire system. Please advise if you know how to work around this.
Question for you, would you ever use a Mic Preamp, I have a DBX 286s and several different mics. (Been looking at the MG10UX until your compares) connecting two computers, 1 usb (MacBook) another desktop, Ham Radio. :-)
Hi Robb, cool video & great job... I have a question, how about the mic feedback ? exspecially when guitar play so loud & vocal mic close with array/sub speaker. (because stagepas 1k not equipped with "noise supressor" button).
Hi Jordan .. ,I'm sory for wrong comment column & thanks for effect demo+explanation, clearly & helpful.. Hope next time you can demo effect Allen & Heath Zed60-Fx mixer'.
I recently have this mixer and I love it! But one question I have in connected via USB. It shows ProFx 1-2 which that is how I hear everything. But I noitce the ProFx 3-4, which I assume means USB 3-4 on the mixer. So with the windows 10 sound routing options I set it for music. But I have the USB 3-4 button pushed down so it can send it to 9/10. As well as having to phones/cr pushed down. But I don't hear anything coming from the 9/10 channel. The only time I hear it is when to phones/cr button is pushed up then I hear everything, but then my computer sound goes away. Is there a way to make it work while the to phones/cr is pushed down? Thanks.
That's crazy there is not parameter dial for those as they are quite extreme when implemented full-on like that, to the point of kind of useless. Glad I bought a Yamaha now. The mute effects button suggest they are always on by default... erk! Jordan, you mentioned a Mackie you reviewed I think where the request to make this video was placed, that is had four USB outputs. What is the reasoning behind that when Garage Band can seperate the channels through one USB mixer output. I'd understand if it were a built-in USB hub with one USB output to PC or device, one USB 3.0 for an SSD and two charge ports, but four USB of what on the Mackie? It makes more sense if you read that question at 1.5x speed hahaha.
Hi u said that: 1. The intensity of 24 Effects can't be adjusted in Profx10v3...then that FX knob at the righter down is for what purpose? 2. Can the intensity of 24 Effects can be adjusted in Profx6v3? Kindly guide and suggest....
Intensity is not to be confused with volume. The FX knob controls volume, but sometimes it would be nice to change the timing or variables with the FX.
Hey, I'm no professional, but the 6-channel version of this product has an effects adjustment knob, so I assume there is a way to use it on this one as well. Might be something to look into.
That's not really a simple question. Each device is good for a very specific purpose: The Zoom devices are nice because they're extremely portable and can be battery powered. The mixer is good because it gives you hands on control of FX and EQ. The Interfaces are nice because they're small and reliable. It depends what is most important to you.
Hello i like your Chanel ... i neede help ik is posible i have a mackie fx22 v3 and j want to connect a lexicon mx200 wher can i find the aux send and return it donst say on the mackie and the cbles must be mono or stereo please help ik posible thans you
NEAT Worker Bee or AKG P220 or Audio Tech AT2020? Please let me know. Also, with the Mackie you have. Would it work perfect to run a 4 man podcast if needed?
Hi I'm looking to buy a mixer and still undecided whether on going for mackie or mgx10u. Not having effects dialer is a bit of a downside on mackie. But overall which mixer would you recomend to go for? Especially for live streaming and for content creation purpose.
Hi since mackie doesn't have a parameter dial for the fx. What is the best alternative to it. If I'd still want to consider getting a mackie over mgx10u
Hi, nice video. Which program you use to let hear the effects? I didn't see a cable out of the fx send. I would want to let hear some people the effects sounds recorded in a live Zoom session. Best regards, Theo
There is a ton of different software that you can use. Everything from OBS, to Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, CueBase, Protools, etc, etc. Depends if you're recording, live streaming, or live on stage.
I wouldn’t call it “ Pro FX” bad name for it. I’ve had Mackie in the past was always able to control the effects parameters . Makes the effects on this virtually useless. Will definitely have to get an external unit.
Excellent Video! Really helped in the understanding of the Mackie. I would love to see a video for the FX6v3, as an entry level console. Also - In my setup I have to crank the Gain almost all the way up to get any input from the mic. Do you have any suggestions here? I followed the video but no luck so far :(
Hi i'm thinking to buy one of those mixer Mackie PROFX 10 V3 or RCF 10 XR to add to my Dj gear . Which of those two you recommend me ? But way when you going to make a video about RCF 10 XR ?
We don't plan on covering RCF in the near future. I would definitely recommend the Mackie over it. Mute buttons, blend knob, inserts, etc. You get more for your money.
I would never use this mixer with QBase 12 professional. You have better control through the DAW since you cannot control the parameters of this mixer so I will take a pass
Number 12 works well with vocals. The level control in the channel strips is your parameter adjustment.
thanks was looking for this
That’s what I was thinking
I’m with you…I’d love to be able to control the effects. I’ve been using this board for my live solo gigs for almost 3 years now and it’s great. But for vocals, I’ve been using the TC Helicon Mic Mechanic. The compressor, reverb, and delay are phenomenal.
I just picked up a TC Helicon Duplicator for my vocals as well to use with my 12v3.
Lack of parameter control was a deal breaker.
Thanks so much for your video, you saved me a lot of money.
Nice one Mackie...NOT.
No parameter control equals "No Cigar." 👋
Thanks for the explanation regarding running an external FX unit. I have the 12v3 and wishing for more control over the FX Engine. Thanks for the Demo
I had a behringher qx1204usb end now I have this mixer.
WOW! It's fantastic!
I like it more and more every day that I get to use it!
I gotta say, these are quality
Glad you found it helpful.
Thank you so much sir for your packaged information.
Can two effects can be set one time like reverb and echo?
THANK YOU!! man did I need this video.
Great show! When I have FX6V3, I will compare the effects for the guitar and Roland Micro Cube.
Thank you sir for your packaged information
Noise gate on channels would be rad and Limiter on Master Out
delay comment = spot on. at least have a tap in tempo right?
So there is no per-channel FX right? You can only have one active effect at a time right?

can't get effects to work on main output when using as an interface.
The yellow knob is the parameter knob you are wishing for, no?
is it possible to use backing tracks without the FX whilst still using the FX (Delay etc) for vocals when live as it looks as though the FX would change everything as no options to isolate per input?
Ok... What mixer is like the Macie Pro10vs, but does not hvae the effects.?
GREAT video and teaching!
I'm trying to get effects on my headphones ONLY, and NOT recorded into Logic (or any DAW really). Is this possible?
The pro 12v3 has a perimeter knob.
Hi nice to watch your video. I'm wanna ask how to adjust FX send & FX return (which knob I should do adjust) to increase or lower the effect volume? Thanks

Can I select the builtin effects be set up as monitor effects and recording dry sounds or record the effects mixed with the dry sound?
Hi, i have mackie pro fx v2, how do you send effects to aux?
What is a best effect on this mixer for singers?
I'm already having the PROFX10V3.
Awesome device.
Thanks to Gordon.
If you are setting Main FX Level to 'U', then set the Channel FX level at ¼ or at 9 hrs.
Glad you liked it.
The lack of a parameter knob really kills the effects engine on this. Shame, because otherwise this mixer seems to have it all.
Hello,
Is Mackie PROFX10v3 a good choice for a rehearsal room with two loudspeakers Behringer eurolive vp 2520 ?
Mostly for singing.

Can you bypass the Onyx preamps on Mackie profx10v3?
Good day
So which mixer would have a parameter nob and naybe more interesting effects,
In the same price range.. more or less
Thank you !!!
Which audio mixer has good effects for life performances
Hello. what can you say about Mackie onyx 8, 12..? opinion or suggestions. is something successful? you can help us with details. thank you

For effects, this or the Yamaha MG12XU?
Hey man love the video, I'm confused between the Behringer QX1222 vs the Mackie ProFx12v3, which would you suggest.?
need to wet up the vocals!, pretty dry right now brother!!
any suggestions
I am looking to buy a Makie mixer what in your opinion is better the sliders on the proFx12V3 better than the dials on the proFX10V3
Hi, what are the cables needed to use the input and output of this device?
I just wish it had a pitch effect with parameters. I was so disappointed to see it missing when I bought this mixer.
The FX are definitely the weak point compared to the MG10XU
Can we use the profx6 in place of a audio interface like focus rite 2i2. Would you suggest for home vocal and inst recording ??
No parameter knob - who designed that?
do they make a bag for this mixer?
No Gated Reverb? 😢😮

You are right and this one does have it.
Does the profx12v3 have a parameter dial?
No single effect is usable :(
Can we add more effects via usb?
Hi just one question.. What should i go for Zoom h5 or h4n, mackie profx6v3, or some audio interface like scarlet or presonus.. Pls answer soon
That's not really a simple question. Each device is good for a very specific purpose:

Great video! Are you using a Mac or Pc?
Can you mix effects in a channel?
Great content! Do you recommend a unit that is a USB mixer with effects that has a parameter knob? Thank you!
Yamaha mgu10
Great video. So do you have to choose between internal FX and external send jack or can you have both?
I'm wondering the same thing.

I haven't compared it against the AKG yet, but I think the Worker Bee is much better than the AT2020.
@@kettnercreative what would you think the most ideal mic is for a 4 man podcast? Looking to buy 4 XLR mics to compliment the Mackie.

There is no 6 channel 7 yes
Hi since mackie doesn't have a parameter dial for the fx. What is the best alternative to it. If I'd still want to consider getting a mackie over mgx10u
The Allen & Heath Zed has a tap tempo which is pretty awesome. Otherwise you're looking at getting some type of external effects rack.
@@kettnercreative thanks for the reply man. gonna recommend this channel to my friends
@@kettnercreative Does it have a parameter dial? What model are you talking about?
Hi, nice video. Which program you use to let hear the effects? I didn't see a cable out of the fx send. I would want to let hear some people the effects sounds recorded in a live Zoom session. Best regards, Theo
I have the mixer connected to my laptop using the USB cable. I typically record everything in Logic or Garageband.
nice bro
Thanks
The effect knob is turned up way too high on the mic channel used here. Less is more.
Is there a software that you can use on computer to make custom effects?
There is a ton of different software that you can use. Everything from OBS, to Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, CueBase, Protools, etc, etc. Depends if you're recording, live streaming, or live on stage.
@@kettnercreative thanks but I meant on board, so you can have them with direct monitoring
Sir where is the PFL option in this console
You need the 12v3 or 16v3 for this option.
@@kettnercreative ok thank you sir
so, it assigns the effect to every channel? so, it’s basically useless. why would I want the same effect on every mic and instrument?
it is possible to record multitracks only with this console
You can multi-track 2 channels at a time if you pan them left/right.
I wouldn’t call it “ Pro FX” bad name for it. I’ve had Mackie in the past was always able to control the effects parameters .
