Nate!!! howdy, howdy! I would love a review / roast @AzureAcademy/ My concerns: I am in the IT business cloud computing edutainment niche... my target audience is the IT generalist / enthusiast who wants to learn Cloud Computing. In UA-cam this is a very, Very, VERY small niche. Thank you for all the hard work you do on these videos! I’ve seen all of the ones you have so far and they’ve genuinely helped my channel. With that being said I give full permission to roast mine 😅
Boop the like button by itself would have been super cute-funny in the middle of the roasts! Kind of like a wait-what?! moment 😆. Thanks for making awesome content… I look forward to watching your advice 👍🏻
So, what we learned from Nate today: - Don't mumble and go to the point - Don't upload too often if it lowers your production quality - If you change something within your production, test it to see if it works for you and your audience - Learn how to make thumbnails properly, they're like your brand, you can't just paste any image you find, this isn't a blog from the 90's - Don't be afraid, publish more videos to be able to know if your idea works or not
LOL, Nate, I am laughing so hard! Thanks so much for roasting me - I loved it. Truth - I absolutely hate making thumbnails. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. But I promise to go through them all and make them MUCH bigger! Good on ya, Nate!
(sorry long reply) I loved the pirate!!! Improving my thumbnails was such a good suggestion - I didn't realize they were so tiny. I was trying to learn from you on P24 in a Masterminds that you hosted on thumbnails, but I was very new at that time (still am) and I didn't understand everything that you were talking about. Would it be okay to add some videos here at your channel about thumbnails and the basics in creating good ones? I hate having to photograph myself - maybe I should cartoon myself LOL I use Canva but I would like to understand how to really create good thumbnails without it taking so darned long. Would love to hear more from you about how you make your own thumbnails and what considerations you have when making them. And any thumbnail tools you recommend. Any tips you share with us are always very valuable!@@ThatNateBlack
@@AshPlaysHorror That is so nice of you to say! Actually, I've been redoing my thumbnails and banner since Nate roasted me. I'm still kind of "getting it" with thumbnails, but I'll get there!
I wrote a script for a video and did a dry run to see how long it was. 14 minutes. I decided to tweak it a little bit and got it under 7, while still making all the key points. Love your Nate, keep it up, bro.
Hi Nate. I loved seeing you so out of your element. I know how kind you truly are so this must have been interesting for you. Well done! So proud of you! Hugs (your self-proclaimed UA-cam Mom) 🤗
Nate! Your videos offer such detailed legit guidance! I appreciate that you go far beyond the "make an eye-catching thumbnail!" tips that are in all the other "how to grow your channel" videos. Your content is 100% unique and truly helpful for those of us who are past those first steps but still looking for wisdom! You're killing it. Thank you!
this is one of the only UA-cam gurus that actually knows what he's talking about, apply his advice, continue to make videos, and make mistakes and you'll all do great!
The first video I watched early this morning, as I took my first sip of coffee, was this one. Completely unaware I was about to be roasted. Not exactly the best way to start the day, but after having had the time to absorb and process, I wanted to thank you for helping me to see the absolute shambles my channel is. Still not really sure on how to actually make the thumbnails less 'thrown spaghetti' as although they do appear to be totally unrelated (and I see that now) they do all relate to my niche. I've got some work to do in re-designing thumbnails and trying to figure out how to make them work. Thanks for the roast...kinda😉-Sue
It’s Sue! Thank you so much for requesting and allowing me to do a bit of roasting. You’re doing so many things really well! Roasting meant I focused on an area to improve, but by no means did I want to discourage you or make you feel that your channel is a shambles - please don’t take it that way at all! Roasting is a bit of fun, but what you’re doing is sharing your ongoing story with your channel, which is absolutely fantastic. If you take anything from this, I’d love it to be that you’re doing something that 99% of people aren’t doing, and just finding that common thread for the audience sake will only add to it. You’re doing great things!
Dude you have genuinely excellent tips that I feel like other UA-cam growth channels are just not giving correctly. Just found you and subscribed. Super impressed. I am trying to go from 27k subs to 100k subs this year and this advice is incredible. Thank you!
Appreciate those that offer themselves for roasting so we can all learn and grow! Appreciate you and thanks for all the constructive feedback that we can all use! All our best!
You know it’s good when the roasts are actually helpful. Which I guess is exactly the point hey. I’ve overplayed the chapters before🤦♂️, along with many other things no doubt. Good content as always man. And I’m glad the hear the back is doing better too Nate🤙.
I've been scared of starting over with my channel and instead of just doing it, I've been productive-procrastinating by watching your videos and noting down some important things so I can make "the perfect video". But there is no perfect unless you try. I'm gonna start planning out my ideas and after a couple of videos, I'm going to volunteer as a tribute so you can roast your own advice.
Thanks Nate! I think I have a fundamental change needed for of my channel. Also, I left a cliff hanger because you mentioned in your previous video to sometimes just end it before the...
Nate, I'm an occupational therapist. I'm going to give you a couple of tips that might help your back from getting out of whack again. Number 1 tip is if you don't already have one, buy yourself a standing desk that you can alternate between sitting, standing, and if it goes down low enough to allow you to kneel, even better. The second suggestion is to ditch your office chair (regardless of how many lumbar and thoracic region adjustments it offers). Instead buy a large therapy ball which you can utilize as a chair. Sitting on a therapy ball significantly reduces slouching tendencies and also offers your pelvis and lumbar region more dynamic position options. *This is not a Plan of care, and of course, this is not medical advice and legally I have to tell you to consult your doctor or therapist before trying any of these suggestions. These are changes that I incorporated into my editing setup that has substantially helped my back because I too began to experience problems from the long never ending hours of editing. Good luck. Also, feel free to roast my channel anytime you would like to! But I'm actually just commenting on here to offer some advice because I don't want to see you get burned out because of chronic back pain because I like your videos! Keep 'em coming!
G'day Nate, haven't stopped to smell the flowers on UA-cam in ages - I've been too busy making videos, true story! Indeed, I haven't checked in since your first step on this channel after leaving CM but wow, you look good! Healthy, vibrant and full of energy! So glad to see this, I'm happy for you :) Thanks again for all the time sunk into YT education, you're a big reason my channel grew smoothly from early days. This vid was really fun and I'll make a point to come back and watch your next one too. Thanks again and all the best with your YT edu future! -Craig, Australia.
Love your stuff, especially the roasts. Always looking to improve and having a list of things to avoid is always good. There needs to be a community out there of youtubers that are just watching other people stuff and roasting it. We could all get better at our craft.
Nice work Nate! Love the energy, and how you made the topics fun in a different way! I recently crossed the 100k mark and would love to have you roast my channel, but not the calm, nice way. The fun, agressive, kick my butt and send me home with a new perspective way! Keep up the great work, it really makes a difference in a lot of people's lives!
I think you're the only youtuber that I would want to be roasted by - cause I want feedback I can trust. There's so much info out there that you can't be sure if it's useful/accurate - and sometimes following it leads to a lot of work with no gain, or worse, losses. If you're looking for more people to take the heat, sign me up! 😅
Thank you for all your help, Nate. I've got a long road ahead and appreciate your videos. You have my special permission to roast the HECK out of my channel...leave no survivors. 🔥🔥🔥
You are one of the few channels on UA-cam that gives me a sense of belonging. Thank you, Nate. I was able to grow my channel quickly by applying your tips, also getting to the point made my Average view duration waay higher :p
Love these roast videos, Nate! They are highly entertaining, but still give relevant and valid points to help creators improve their channel. Keep up the amazing work 😊
Out of all the channels like yours, I enjoy yours the most. Helpful and entertaining. I know my channel needs help 😅 so I'll keep showing up to watch and learn but feel free to roast away..
This was sooooo helpful! Great job to all the creators out there. Thanks for helping us learn from your mistakes! I really want to be roasted!! I think I can take it, but I’m actually a highly sensitive person…. So maybe a gentle roast to be on the safe side. I definitely have the spaghetti on the wall issue, but I’ve been watching your videos and trying to focus more. First, I realized that I suck at long form content, so I’ve decided to focus on shorts for the next … (?) The idea of the channel is just documenting my homeschooling journey with my son from birth on (he’s currently 2). He’s the hero of the videos & I’m teaching him. Viewers are meant to have an experience through him where they learn colors, shapes, letters, numbers, etc. Also, caretakers/teachers who watch can get ideas and copy what I’m doing when working with toddlers in their life. I originally was using UA-cam as a way to share videos with family that were too big to share other ways & accidentally left one public that now has over 60,000 views. After my son was born, I started uploading home videos to UA-cam just so I could cast them to the TV as well as reading some books to him plus reviewing other stuff he was learning and something similar happened. I made some of the videos public and was shocked to find people other than myself watching them. About 3 months ago, I decided to try and monetize my channel and I have over 2.5 k subscribers now. I just can’t get the watch hours to get monetized. I noticed that my shorts where I am doing crafts with my son have really picked up traction. One of them has over 400k views! I decided to focus on that & I’m going to start a series of making construction paper vehicles for each level of the alphabet. This week, we will record A for Airplane. Thanks so much for all your videos. Following your advice has been a huge part of why my channel doesn’t suck more.
I watch your videos more than once and I’m very busy so mainly I’m listening. The abrupt ending. Oh my I run to my phone every time to see what happened! Makes me want to
Love your content Nate. I’ve been on since 300 subs on channel makers, when it had another name. Speaking of roasting: Weird Al wants his hairstyle back.
I volunteer as tribute. I have never plateaued, I have steady growth, but I think I could absolutely be doing better. I feel like I’m missing a detail and that things are actually rather close to sincerely working.
Just a note on your last point Nate - you mentioned shorter long form videos are usually reserved for humorous content and you go on to say that for educational style content you would almost never make a video that short However, I've had some success with short style, long form educational videos (30-60 seconds) I do premiere pro editing tutorials almost all of which are under a minute and I average around 400-500k views per month currently with 16k subscribers Perhaps I am the exception to the rule in this case though - btw I would love to be roasted or otherwise featured on your channel in some way in the future - I really admire your content and you are LITERALLY (lol) the only youtuber I watch with talking head style videos
Hello Nate! First off, I would like to say thank you for all the amazing info you share. I have been working on my channel for around 2 years now and you have definitely helped me grasp some of the concepts that were going right over my head (the graphic representation of how the algorithm works was gold!) My channel is growing, but only in spurts. I would love to have you roast the hell out of it so I know why and can smooth out the growth curve.
Oh boy, my frail mental state could never handle a roast by Nate. Been trying this UA-cam thing for 6 years, 2K subs, reasonable viewership (if staying small is your thing), and sometimes wondering if people actually want to see this stuff...
Great video Nate! The fishing guy just rambling on and not getting to the point was pretty funny. Trying to make my videos suck less and all these things really help. Thanks a bunch!
I love watching Nate give advice for other small youtube channels. I am up for a small roasting as well. I would love to find out what I could be doing better.
I absolutely love your way of presentation .. i can bet your audience retention is v v high .. thanks 4 the amazing tips .. learned so much as a small channel ..
Hi @Nate Black I used to watch your videos randomly but now I find the 'roasting' ones funnier than watching Mr. Bean! And that's an honest compliment to your unique style of humor. I now wait for each of your new releases. I've learned lots of tricks from your videos (thank you), and I am one YT creator who believes in never giving up. Even though my objective is to get some financial support from YT, I knew before starting my channel that my niche is a low RPM/CPM topic. But I shall continue. The one point that I'd like to highlight about what you mentioned in this video, is that educational channels like mine should not post brief long-form videos. I think with the minimized attention span of most people today, it is good to make 3-4 minutes videos on specific topics and focus only on one aspect/element of what you want to say in a longer version. Not sure if you'd agree. I am not sure if you're 'hungry' enough to consider roasting my channel, but the one thing I wish I had was the natural flow of speech that you're gifted with. NATE (I always make sure to double-check people's name) - Keep inspiring & entertaining - it's a rare combination on YT.
Love the video, Nate. Learned some more things to try or not try on my channel. Props as well to your lighting, choice of colors and the items in your background in your video.
I recently found your UA-cam channel, Nate, and it has been a tremendous help with me planning out future content for mine, so thank you sincerely! Also, I hope you're having a great day!
Nigel, you have been one of the inspiring voices to get me to take creation seriously, but I don't need a roast. I need a furious sear, basting then slow cook. I feel like I'm applying so many principles, but I'm lagging in views. Also I hate thumbnails. Lol
Thank you Sir Nate!! Everything you said was spot on, just needed to hear it I suppose. "Keep it simple stupid!" I will drastically change the look of my next thumbnails and see what happens. It will save me a lot of time that I could put toward increasing the production quality instead. Much appreciated good sir! Keep doing what you`re doing man!
Ok this is getting good, very interesting concept roasts. First i thought you were talking about pot roasts. But now i get it i think your roasts are better than your regular content.
Hi Nate, OK got it.. 1. Get to the point 2. Stop repeating yourself 3. Be consistant in posting videos but not everyday if your videos whomp 4.Make your thumbnails bigger and readable 5. Stick to one niche or topic and do not change from one niche to another to another Right?? I have to confess I was so into the video that when it ended I was like... Thats it? Where's the other part? Darn it! I have to go see the other video you pointed at in the end of this video..
WOW, great video. Your tempo and delivery reminded me of the glory days of UA-cam, and the channel Ask A Ninja. Specifically episode 17, Omnibus. (I've watched that video probably 50 times).
I need roasting only you can provide. Please know that you are a beacon of hope in an otherwise murky UA-cam landscape. Thank you Nathan for giving serious consideration to this opportunity. Have a great start to 2024 too! Russ 🍠 aka roast
Fantastic Nate ! Enjoy watching the roasting LOLOL. I think we ALL can learn something from the mistakes shown. My own personal issue is when the channel starts out with " I've never done this before" but I'm going to show you how to ...blah blah blah....🤠
I think we've just found Nat's (where did Nath go, guys?) new sub-niche. 😂 These are great fun to watch, while also really helpful to both viewers and the people being roasted. We still want your normal content ofc, but doing these every few weeks gets a boop from me!
It was very sweet that you gave a gentle roast when requested. I'd appreciate being roasted. For context, I have used my channel primarily to share videos of my products over the last couple of years, and I have only just started making videos with the intention of building an audience. I started with a couple of videos to build my skills, but I'm still looking for my specific niche. This will likely focus on making D&D "easy". I'm currently working on my first tutorial video, which will be the first of many videos aimed at new players.
New to your channel and love the roasts/the people volunteering themselves (👏) and all of the amazing info you provide for us! I absolutely cringe at my first videos, but we gotta start somewhere - good luck to everyone with their channel 🫶
Ooh ooh, me next. I'm pretty new at this (started last November). I have some ideas regarding what I can do to improve, but a disinterested 3rd party would bring more objectivity. So please, set me ablaze.
Great video Nate - I felt the heat of the roast and took a good long look at my channel. Apart from a gentle grilling I think I'm on track. Thanks for all the great insights and help. Its your videos that kept me on the straight and narrow. Not like the sausage that slipped off the griddle! 😎😎
Thanks for the video Nickolas. My case on UA-cam is special, it involves Shorts. I can never tell why my short videos have terrible average duration (roast me to oblivion)
sooner or Nater this guy is going to find my channel ;p. First time I ever heard of seen a video video from you. Great organized rambling with nice edit flow. I have 2 channels the Tech and the Studio. both small and both with several hundred videos. Cool to see a real person that does consulting assistance (read your video description details), so many of these scam companies that email and want access you your channel with passwords. So sketchy out there in the wild.
I have learned so much from you but, putting it all into practice, well, that's another story! My channel does not need roasted, it's already burnt, fried to a crisp. It's a good thing I have a good day job. Thanks Nick, Nate?
So fun! 😂❤ I especially enjoyed the gentle roasting, probably because I just started and finally got over being on camera. 😅 I already currently have a long list of things to improve on but when I hit a wall, which I'm sure someday I will, I can't wait for you to roast my channel.
I really enjoy watching these, looking for tips that might help me improve my channel. I could really use a roast. Friends and family are great cheerleaders, but they're not so good at providing relevant critique!
I wouldnt want to be "roasted" as much as pushed in the right direction, because honestly Nate, I dont know what Im doing wrong. I admit, I lost some motivation/ steam with uploads due to not seeing results, but its a passion that Im having fun doing. so I dont plan on stopping.
So helpful! I think I have to work on rambling. I talk too much about nothing. It falls under…not being afraid to cut stuff out even if you took a lot of time to film it.
Thank you Nate Dawg (still wrong if we add “Dawg?”) Thanks for the posts. They are really helpful, especially your genuine enthusiasm. I’ll take a roast if you’re feeling it sometime. Hope all is well man.
Excellent video as always - what I learned, or at least it made me realize that when I do somes changes to my setup/thumbnail/title/etc. and them post the video, I don't let time to YT to gather valuable information. I sort of panic after a day, so I will change something. I can change it 10 times during a week :-) I need to let time do it's magic so I can understand what worked or not. Probably a reason why my average view count is not as I would expect. This is why I love your channel so much... for these insights. Thank you !
Dang it, I've never cared to be roasted but now my goal is to get roasted! Last year was my best on UA-cam, but something just isn't clicking, or maybe I'm just impatient! Either way, keep up the awesome videos! Loving this new channel of yours, you seem happier! Keep me in mind for a future roast!
I'd love to see him work on your channel too because I can't figure out what's not clicking either. I blame the algorithm not serving it properly bit how to fix it fast?
You have noticed the same things I have haha! I think my biggest problem is how I've changed my channel over time. I started off by growing peppers in my basement, then got into exotic peppers and eating hot things.. but while growing peppers I fell in love with gardening and just becoming more self sufficient in general which brought me to chickens. Each time I shifted the channel I knew I would have a good 6 months of building it back up. The chicken videos get watched the most for sure, but then a video like the Vego video takes off or another gardening video and it confuses me! At this point, I'm enjoying making videos about everything to do with just.. growing my own food so I'm just going to keep doing that for a while haha! I mean.. Unless "Nick" Takes a stab at it and points me in a different direction. Either way.. even if I feel like my growth is slow it's still fast when comparing it to a lot of other people working just as hard as I am, so I am very greatful for that!@@SageandStoneHomestead
@@WhitepepperFarmshomestead the only thing I can come up with is having more of a personal feel to the content. And this may not be what you're after anyway so ignore me if I'm off base. Your content is so well done and much of it is evergreen, designed for new audience and always relevant. This is good for reaching out and growing subscribers but then getting them to stay is the harder part, and it might take getting to know you more as a friend vs a teacher to accomplish that? I hope that makes sense. I've loved the videos with your wife in them, she is funny and relaxed. Nate recently touched on our Niche in another video and he called homesteaders a journey type channel. Where people come along for the ride of our lives. That's what I'm after but you may want to have more informational content and I understand that!
I think you have a very good point! I was actually just watching one of your videos and loved the personal touch on it! I've sprinkled personal stuff into mine before and those videos tend to be 10 of 10, BUT I could always find other ways of incorporating that until I figure out what works best for me. Make small changes to add a personal touch and see if that helps over time! I've had several videos hit well above 500k views and I think you're right.. If there was a personal touch it could have kept more of those people around! I appreciate that, I'm definitely going to ponder this one and see what I can do!@@SageandStoneHomestead
J'adoooooore ces vidéos de rôtissage ! Yeah! Really... I love them! A maximum of useful tips in just a little under 10 minutes: that's productivity! So, if one day you fell like making an over-the-pond "rôtissage", I'm your man...
Thanks Nate, I learned a lot here and would love a good roast! My channel is a few months old but I've had some success with a semi viral video. Now trying to recapture that fire with the subsequent uploads, but I'm having a hard time knowing what lessens to take away from how the videos are preforming relative to one another! Is it just a case of needing more at bats?
Thanks for the roast Nate! I was filming on a different camera, which is probably why that video was so bright! I think the quality varies depending on what device you’re watching on - is this common?😂
UA-cam recommends a lot of these types of channels to me but I was drawn to yours! I loved this video! I want to concentrate on short how-to gaming videos but I can't get watch hours that way so I started Livestreaming and I don't enjoy Livestreaming. I'm a subscriber now! Hope I can fix me.
Love these roast videos! Thanks Nate for giving the most entertaining UA-cam tips on the platform. Also I volunteer as tribute for the next roast 😅 my the odds be forever in my favor lol
I would actually love to hear why you wouldn’t make educational content too short. I’m aiming for the 3-5 minute mark with my educational videos right now. Because that’s a manageable amount to do in a week at my current skill/time set.
It's an interesting take. I think some educational videos being shorter is better. Like if I'm looking for a turorial on how to do an edit, I always click on the 2 min one instead of the 12min. I think it's about predicting how much time the viewer thinks it should take.
No problem either making a rough draft of a video. If you record a 5 minute video and the play it back and find that it’s rambling or not getting to the point, re-record it! Now being stronger than before and knowing what you’re going to say - but cutting the fluff. If I’m recording a video, and I say something, and I notice that it’s long winded, I will just say those sentences again but a lot more clear and concisely. And then when I get to the editing room, I might cut out even more! Point is, your first draft doesn’t have to be what you upload.
Hi Nate, you have been a real inspiration in starting this channel a month ago, so far doing well with 10k views and 100 subs, thanks for all you do. NO I do NOT want to be roasted😂😂
Oh god I really appreciate a roast for my channel! I mean, I'm growing, but not at the rate I expected. I'm trying to follow your tips. And they have helped a bit
Hey Nate, I love your videos. Thank you so much for putting them out! I would love a gentle roast of my channel. I have been switching my main topic from Excel VBA to Microsoft Power Platform and my channel hasn't recovered yet from that. Any advice on how to improve :) ?
HUGE thank you to everyone who took the heat in this video!
What happened to the lighter background for roasts?? I thought that was pretty cool theme, since ur background is mostly dark in all ur other vids
Nate!!! howdy, howdy!
I would love a review / roast @AzureAcademy/
My concerns:
I am in the IT business cloud computing edutainment niche...
my target audience is the IT generalist / enthusiast who wants to learn Cloud Computing.
In UA-cam this is a very, Very, VERY small niche.
However
Cloud computing is a HUGE topic to learn about like 80 areas...I cover around 15.
but that also means if I make a video on networking, the storage people don't watch it
and if I do one on cloud compute services, the network people don't watch it.
So thats the obvious problem right...but none of these areas exist in a vacuum.
As an IT person in a small company you need to know all this...or at least be aware of it.
In a enterprise...you are much more specialized.
so I try to strike a balance because I also don't have enough time to create consistent content for 15 channels that only focus on 1 area.
I have 54K subs and 3-4K views in the first week on a new video.
My CTR average in that time is between 6-11%
Average viewer duration during that time is between 60-120% but after the first week averages down to 35-40%
My question:
what do you think is the 1 major improvement to my channel / videos that I should address that will have the most impact?
thanks
- Dean
Thank you for all the hard work you do on these videos! I’ve seen all of the ones you have so far and they’ve genuinely helped my channel. With that being said I give full permission to roast mine 😅
Roast meeeeeee!!!!! 😂😂😂😅
Boop the like button by itself would have been super cute-funny in the middle of the roasts! Kind of like a wait-what?! moment 😆. Thanks for making awesome content… I look forward to watching your advice 👍🏻
So, what we learned from Nate today:
- Don't mumble and go to the point
- Don't upload too often if it lowers your production quality
- If you change something within your production, test it to see if it works for you and your audience
- Learn how to make thumbnails properly, they're like your brand, you can't just paste any image you find, this isn't a blog from the 90's
- Don't be afraid, publish more videos to be able to know if your idea works or not
Good summary!
And never get his name wrong
Is it just me or does Nick kinda look like Nate?
And I can’t get enough of these roasts. They’re brutally honest yet insanely informative and helpful.
Yes 👌🥳
I know I can't tell them apart.
Where's Neil?
I think being roasted by Nate is becoming kind of a badge of honor. 😆 Entertaining and informative as always!
yep LOL
LOL, Nate, I am laughing so hard! Thanks so much for roasting me - I loved it. Truth - I absolutely hate making thumbnails. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. But I promise to go through them all and make them MUCH bigger! Good on ya, Nate!

@@AshPlaysHorror That is so nice of you to say! Actually, I've been redoing my thumbnails and banner since Nate roasted me. I'm still kind of "getting it" with thumbnails, but I'll get there!

Shout out to the roastees! Thanks for taking one for the team. Learned a ton--thanks, Nate!
Hi Nate. I loved seeing you so out of your element. I know how kind you truly are so this must have been interesting for you. Well done! So proud of you! Hugs (your self-proclaimed UA-cam Mom) 🤗
It’s Lisa! I’ll accept that title from you 😂 thank you!
I'm gonna start planning out my ideas and after a couple of videos, I'm going to volunteer as a tribute so you can roast your own advice.
ok. That got tough... but wonderfully helpful. Thanks to all the volunteers! Appreciated. xxxxxx
Channel roasts should be a monthy show!!! LOVE IT
it can also be a live video. Live videos seem to work well for many niches
I want to be motivated again in my UA-cam journey, and I think a roast would be just the thing I need!
Jacob, you are without a doubt the best at this type of content. Your tips are actionable and actually good. Way too underrated.
Jacob 😂😂
what have i done
@@ThatNateBlack 🤣🤣🤣👏👏
Oh the glorious intensity change at 5:16 ! Marvellous stuff Nige.
Keep up the amazing work 😊
I appreciate that!
@@ThatNateBlack I recently found your channel. I would have liked if I found you sooner. Before YT terminated my channel on January 18th...
Also, most of my videos are made for kids, so comments are automatically turned off.
Hey Nate, I love your roasts and always want to ask for a roast, but I'm not really sure how to ask. But I'd be so grateful!
Just a note on your last point Nate - you mentioned shorter long form videos are usually reserved for humorous content and you go on to say that for educational style content you would almost never make a video that short
However, I've had some success with short style, long form educational videos (30-60 seconds)
I do premiere pro editing tutorials almost all of which are under a minute and I average around 400-500k views per month currently with 16k subscribers
Perhaps I am the exception to the rule in this case though - btw I would love to be roasted or otherwise featured on your channel in some way in the future - I really admire your content and you are LITERALLY (lol) the only youtuber I watch with talking head style videos
That was beautiful. I have never seen one of your roast videos before. Thanks for making my first time wonderful.
Hi @Nate Black
I used to watch your videos randomly but now I find the 'roasting' ones funnier than watching Mr.
Love how the roasts are all still instructive. All feels in very good taste and with the main intent to teach
Love the video, Nate. Learned some more things to try or not try on my channel. Props as well to your lighting, choice of colors and the items in your background in your video.
The tone of voice change on the 'gentle roast' though - hahaa. Love it.
Lol
I love Nate. Wish he could post more often. I'd be on it every day.
But now i get it
i think your roasts are better than your regular content.
I don't think you'd dare to roast a church's channel.
Hi Nate,
OK got it..
1. Get to the point
2. Stop repeating yourself
3. Be consistant in posting videos but not everyday if your videos whomp
4.Make your thumbnails bigger and readable
5. Stick to one niche or topic and do not change from one niche to another to another
Right??

I love these channel roast formats lol! Definitely keep these up. I'm motivated to volunteer in a few months 😂
These are great fun to watch, while also really helpful to both viewers and the people being roasted.
Loved the genuine gentle roast, but hit me with the hard stuff!
Reaching out for a fresh perspective on my channel! Willing to participate in your next ROAST!🙋♂️
Everytime I hear you say “howdy howdy” I picture the shark in Toy Story going “Look! I’m woody! howdy howdy howdy” lololol 😂
Ooh ooh, me next. I'm pretty new at this (started last November). I have some ideas regarding what I can do to improve, but a disinterested 3rd party would bring more objectivity. So please, set me ablaze.
UA-cam needs to make a new feature for you Ned - the super thumbs up! Thanks Nate!
Great video Nate - I felt the heat of the roast and took a good long look at my channel. Apart from a gentle grilling I think I'm on track. Thanks for all the great insights and help. Its your videos that kept me on the straight and narrow. Not like the sausage that slipped off the griddle! 😎😎
Great content, I did not know you analyzed/roasted "Tiny Tubers". Always entertaining. Now I need to focus on quality content.
I just watched this video and was not expecting to see my channel get roasted 😅 I asked for it. You the man Nick!
Nate you’re still kind in your roasts. I’d like to take the heat! Put me in coach! I’m ready! What can I do better?!
So fun! 😂❤
I especially enjoyed the gentle roasting, probably because I just started and finally got over being on camera. 😅
I already currently have a long list of things to improve on but when I hit a wall, which I'm sure someday I will, I can't wait for you to roast my channel.
I really enjoy watching these, looking for tips that might help me improve my channel. I could really use a roast. Friends and family are great cheerleaders, but they're not so good at providing relevant critique!
love this lol! thank you! lots of luck and love everyone!
Glad to hear your back is doing better!
These roasts are great! If you make a part 2 I'd love it if you roasted my channel like the Rock in 1999 :)
Great job, Nate. I NEED me a no-holds-bar kind of roast on my channel as well. Please. Do it. Do it now!
Thank you Nate Dawg (still wrong if we add “Dawg?”)
Thanks for the posts. They are really helpful, especially your genuine enthusiasm. I’ll take a roast if you’re feeling it sometime. Hope all is well man.
well that is new... the "like" button lit up and stuff when you said to boop it ... i am shooketh and mindblown ... when did UA-cam add that feature?
Okay but the chicken content seems to be getting clicked more often, that vego bed video did awesome!
I absolutely love your humor and have learned a lot from your videos here and the other channel. Hope to start creating soon.
Let Us Have It! WE ARE LOOKING FOR A GROWTH ROAST! We have been making content for three years and need to break through a slump! Bring it on :)
You’re the best guy for helping for small creators here, Nat
Thanks for another great video, yours are the best!
I agree with the guy who said you have the best "how to YT" in the business (paraphrasing). 👍
*whistles while raising hand in air*
Dang it, I so was going to use that line as well. 😂
@@FarmersWifeHomestead 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks, Nick, for everything you do. I'm not sure if you would have any meaningful advice for my channel, but give it your best shot.
Hi Nate, you have been a real inspiration in starting this channel a month ago, so far doing well with 10k views and 100 subs, thanks for all you do. NO I do NOT want to be roasted😂😂
The Doom music was ready to drop and Nate went SAVAGE! I could handle getting roasted and I know I have much room for improvement!
