Glad I came across your helpful channel, Awesome illustration, I will use your videos as my reference in my 71 super beetle resto, unfortunately I am at the body work and rust repair stage 😰😰😬😏. Can’t wait to finish this step. Wish me luck. Cheers from Melbourne Australia Australia 🇦🇺.
very professional ,and easy to follow explanation. I havn't found any site that comes close to yours for complete instructions to understand schematics .You are the best. Hope you keep it up.
Great Series!!! I'm surprised you don't have thousands of subscribers...lol I am starting to rewire my '71 convertible. The initial problem was that the solenoid just "clicked"--tried shorting ignition and power connections and solenoid (and starter) worked fine---so--looking like the old wiring is simply providing too much voltage drop--hence the rewire. I would like to replace the fuse box with something a little better--any suggestions?? I think I would like to try to replace T connectors with either Deutch or Amphenol type connectors---and upgrade the starter + to maybe a 2 AWG and am definitely going to steal your idea on running at least one separate ground wire----in addition to chassis ground. I have rewired a GM diesel truck from the early 90's and grounds were a problem also---so used a marine terminal block and ran several grounds...works great. Anyway--I am grateful for people like you sharing your expertise---as UA-cam becomes more "monetized"--I think we will look back at this time as a golden age of learning. Thanks again!
I have started rewriting my 71 supper beetle convertible. Thank you for your excellent presentation. I have one question. I can not find the ground connection on the generator. What is the next best spot to attach the ground wire. Richard from Birmingham, AL.
Hi, thanks for this videos, new suscriber here! Just, wanna ask about a problem with my beetle... I turn it on normally and drive but when I turn it off and then come back and try to start it, justo doesn't work, I have to push it, so I've noticed somethings, like, the generator light is always on and I a relay that's below the passenger seat is so dirty now, someone told me that that relay may cause the problem, but I don't know if that's the case... And sometimes the car shuts down and burns out the fuse 7, leaving me without lights on the dashboard... Any advice, please? Greetings from Mexico
Very good videos & well explained

Thanks brother. You feedback is very much appreciated
Excellent very helpful
Same as Tom above. A very good video that clearly sweeps away the cobwebs in my mind on the schematic

There should be a small screw on top of the generator. Normally a wire from the DF can be connected from the DF to that screw.

On the voltage regulator which connection sends power back to the battery to recharge it
Isn't that the B+ ?
B+ goes to the battery positive terminal
@@juniorclassicvwbugs924 does the power from the generator come out of the B+ on the voltage regulator is my question ????
