I really love this. I appreciate how you show us your vulnerability while you are doing each project. It takes the fear away from us trying to do resin. Thank you.
It’s lovely!! It looks very Art Deco !! And the extra bits make it even more antique looking!! It’s very nice you should be very proud of it!!
You can also put a piece of parchment paper between each coaster to keep them from sticking to each other. I love all of your creations. This is absolutely beautiful!!
Absolutely beautiful! I can see doing this same thing in so many color options. I think you can “clean up” any misplaced mica powder using a small brush or q-tip dipped in alcohol. Just an idea in case you want to try this method again.
I love it! I’m going to try and come up with Fall colors for thanksgiving. Anyone want to offer some suggestions?
Thank you, Julie for another inspiring video!
PUT THE RESIN SOFT THING....INSIDE THE BOWL AND PLACE LARGE MARBLES UNDER FOLDS TO GIVE A SCULPTED LOOK . THEN YOUR GOLD WILL BE IN THE BOTTOM CENTER 😀😘❤️
It’s beautiful you could have done a blood red one like a poppy as it’s so close to armistice day perhaps next time AnneUK xxx
This Is absolutely beautiful😍. I don't find your mould on amazon. com! Can you help me please... Regards
Me too
I can't find it either....
Looks cool, you could have also used your gold texta pen for the inside!
Do you have a link for this mould?
I found using a small eyeshadow brush worked really well on this mould, mica won’t drop off it as it does with the paint brush. I was laughing when you were trying to work out what way the mould should go on the bowl, I was totally the same working it out, it’s a lovely mould and very cheaply priced. Love the black and gold 😊
I was thinking maybe an eyeshadow smudger brush w/the silicone like tip?
@@moeandco yes that’s what I meant to say 🙈
@@rosieslamon4827 i didn’t know. So it does work? Good to know, those are a lot cheaper and easier to find. TFS!
I like the way the black feathered into the clear edges. That was a happy accident I think. I think the edges are perfect. Nice bowl. Love it. Your video has inspired me to try this. Thank you.
I absolutely love this - prefer it not being too perfect.
To be honest? this for me, is the best bowl you've made, it's gorgeous ♥
I might have too
Agree with you on this one❣️🇨🇦🕊️💞😉🌎🌌
I love it!. Its quite "arte deco" . Even the gold mica drifts. Im glad you took the black to the edges with the stick. Cant wait to see whats next :-) :-)
Do you know what would happen if you would use your gold paint pen to paint the stamens on the mold instead of using
mica powder? Maybe try it with the “5th wheel” small coaster?
I use the gold pen on mine, works out great, and you get no mess like you do with the mica powder
It won’t stick on the mold ?
@@yasmineelsharnouby3109 It doesn't at all, wish I could post pictures on here, I've done it soo many times now, and the mold is perfectly clean when you pop the piece out
I just wanted to comment that you can use your gold pen on the mold instead of the mica powders. I experimented on a mold I have with so much detail using mica powder would have been impossible. To my surprise it came out brilliant. Great video by the way & love the bowl so the mold is now in my basket.
@@nikkieJane7831 I use the pens all the time, they work great, am on the hunt for other metallic coloured pens now, makes life soo much easier. Have tried a sharpie, still works but it does leave a faint stain on the mould, so the metallic pens are the way forward.
My husband says “your going to sell all that stuff, right”? Oh, yes, I am!!
Take a baby wipe or a small or even a wtip get it damp more dry than wet and go around where u want to get rid of
Beautiful - What about Christmas red and Gold ❤️🇩🇰
Lütfen söylermisiniz kaç saat sonra tencerenin üstüne aliyorsunuz.Cok güzel oldu muhteşem.bende denemek isterim teşekkürler 👍👍👍

The bowl is beautiful.
This may not be the 'right way' but it works for me - to remove the excess mica powder I wrap a wet wipe round a cocktail stick (or toothpick might be the right word - I'm from the UK so whatever anyone wants to call it) with the tip of the point cut off (so it doesn't scratch the mould). I then wipe over the areas using a clean part of the wipe each time. It seems to make a difference.
I hope this might help.
I absolutely love the edges, where the black has gone wispy into the clear, and I agree it would be easier to paint the indented parts afterwards. All in all another really cool piece, great work.
I just wanted to say that I love the way you speak to us while completing your works, and know that I am replying and joining in with your conversations all the time, as I'm sure many more of your subscribers are too.
Keep up the great work, you inspire me to do my own work, albeit in a different medium and style, but your enthusiasm for your work is catching 😊 Kerry x 👩🎨
I LOVE IT 🤎 I REALLY LIKE THE FADING ON THE EDGES!! 💛 Beautiful
In Canada you can find these moulds in Amazon under:
DIY Epoxy Mold, Resin Coaster Molds with 1 + 5 Size Molds, for Flower Tea Tray Coaster, DIY Silicone Resin Irregular Mold, for Making Coasters Tray DIY Crafts
Brand: Shaying
Price: CDN$ 39.69
You shouldn’t second guess yourself it’s so beautiful!:
How much you used resin to this mould?
Question: I've just started with epoxy... I haven't done anything big yet.. I LOVE your flowers and I love watching your colors 'bloom'... I'm still only doing test pieces because when I try to replicate your pour, my colors just immediately run all over the place and I end up with mud with flecks of gold or whatever in it... do you use a specific type of epoxy? Do you let your epoxy 'age' for a certain amount of time before you pour? Thanks from Arizona, USA! 🙂
Well done Julie 🖤Is it fun to paint brush the bottom?
Oh !...
I must say...I love the "smokey" edges. ..
👍😉...🌿🌿🌿
Maybe you should try to use a spray for silicone release molding?? It might help with your molds so you won't have to ruin your pyramids?!?!? LOL 😆!!!!!
It’s beautiful. I love the smudgy middle.
Wow! Beauuuuutiful! I set mine over a bowl with another bowl pressed down and something to weight it. I Spray the bowl with Apel mold release. It's a lubricant. I just love your work, it's all amazing!
Omg, I looked for the storage that you showed at the beginning of the video. I found them and for two units it's going to cost me 274.00. I just can't justify spending almost 300 dollars on some plastic containers. They are charging 105 a-piece, and then like 30 in shipping costs alone. Goodness! Nope, I will go to the dollar tree and find a solution.
BLING COASTERS!!! @.@ I need to find that video to try it. Where did you get the molds? I can't find them in your shop.
I've never done resin before so forgive my naievety, but I was wondering if you've tried mixing a small bit of the gold mica powder with a few drops of rubbing alcohol? Then painting the details of the mold with it? Might produce a cleaner result... maybe. I use this technique with vodka and luster dust in my cake decorting.
Anyhow, the bowl looks fantastic! Love your videos.
How long did you let the resin sit before putting it on the bowl? Also, could you clarify how much resin you used for each part (clear and black) I think I saw your full measuring cup was 400 ml?
Hello, I am a new subbie & I am trying to find these type of boxes but I live in the US. Will you please give me the dementions of these boxes? I found similar ones for $2.19 a piece which is great but they want way too much to ship them & I am old & handicapped & only want ten. Please can I have the size?
Hi there, I actually tried the black and gold design myself, but I made a tray and coaster set. I Will post pics in the Facebook group. I had the same problem with the powder...almost the same reaction you had...felt like I was watching myself. lol
Great try! So what I suggest is to put the black first. Do that Mica powder after the hardening of the bowl. Then pour a clear over to harden it possibly? Even the pen idea is good! I think gold flakes would have been too much. But who knows unless it's tired already!
I actually like this bowl!
I didn't see these molds in your video on your ebay site. Would you mind sharing link for them and also the link for the draws in beginning of video? Thank you! Beautiful work.
Love it!! I wonder if some tape would get the excess mica off the spots you don’t want it?
By tape, I mean masking tape, going in and cleaning it off like you did to clean the mould at the start.
I mostly work with UV resin but I like to use the little alcohol swabs. The ones they use at the drs before you get an injection. They are nice and small so you can get into tight spaces and fairly cheap. I bought a box full from eBay.
An even cheaper way is to buy lint free wipes (nail technicians use them) from eBay and isopropyl alcohol in a nail art pump dispenser.
Love your work!
From a fellow Aussie, it’s nice to hear another Aussie accent on UA-cam xxx
STOP Fiddling With It Woman!
I say that to myself, out loud, all the time when I'm finishing a project.
Very Beautiful! The design looks like something on Babylon 5. Or SG1.
Absolutely gorgeous! Ive got a guess on why there are five coasters... the flower has five petals, so the coasters fit onto the tray prettily? Conventionally in Japan the sakura (cherry blossom) has five petals, the plum has four or six, i think.... As you were making it i thought that maybe you could make the small ones as bowls and the large as a serving tray for tapas or sweets, something like that.
Watching you draw the black to the edges. Love the whispy bits
At 25 minutes -- if you would have taken your little spoon from the out side toward the middle, it sould have pushed the black back into the middle and the clear sould have closed in behind your spoon. Not what you planned but it turned out beautiful anyway! What a wonderful result for a first try! I think it is a win. mary from Tn.
Just trash it like you did my like for your work be calling this mold "cheap"...not very professional like of you!
I just had the black pearl delivered from Le'Rez, so I was so happy to see you using it. I was laughing veheb you were trying to paint and clean up any mess on the mould - you are such a perfectionist 😀 Buy that is why your pieces are always so incredibly beautiful! You inspire me to put in more effort and make sure I do everything to the best of my ability 😀
I have a half of a card table filled with coasters I did and I have to store them until Christmas...Have no clue where yet! Another thing I do is put waxed paper between them ..they don't stick!
hello, i call from germany , sorry about my english :-( but..where i can by the amazing boxes ,u have take it to beginning ? there is a super idea , and i like to have it..geetings from germany , angel
I mix mica with rubbing alcohol and make sure it's thick, and paint it on. I keep an extra paint brush to clean any mistakes. Just dip in rubbing alcohol and wipe off the fly away mica bits!!
Have another tiny brush with alcohol, to wipe the access before pouring perhaps? It’s still lovely ! Good ideas!
good job
I would like to know your experiences of advertising on UA-cam ??
That turned out very beautiful Julie.
I have the same molds.
I just did the other day. I actually did it the hard way and went around the grooves with resin in a pipette. Well it’s kind a hard to explain but I won’t do it that way no more because it was too hard but it did turn out really good. But it was very time consuming.
I thought about how I was gonna do it my next time and I thought of the Mica powder, just like you did it. I’ve brushed Mica powder on other molds before and what you have to do is just take a Cotton swab and dip it in a little alcohol to clean up the excess powder around the grooves.
That way you don’t have any Mica powder showing anywhere else.
You’re just so creative and you gave me a good idea to make a bowl next time also. Thanks for sharing!
Instead of the mica powder why not try your gold pen on the mold and once gold paint pen is dry add your opaque resin. Using the pen should give you accurate control over the design. The resin will take up the gold paint pen no problems.
This bowl is beautiful. Well done xx
You continue to amaze! Love your positive attitude and your determination. Bravo! 😍😍😍
Can you share a link where you found the storage towers? I love the brand but can't find this size. Thanks!!
I think the pen that you always use will be way more accurate along the stamens, but your the expert not me. Maybe wipe the spillage away with an alcohol wipe. Yeah, I’m in favour of the pen ha ha ha❤️🇦🇺
I love your work. You inspire me thank you for letting me know where I can get the moles Which Resident is the best resin to use for a beginner please thank you very much your fan Carol. I like when you show the round your studio
Great job, congratulations, where I can buy this molds, thank you
I think it’s a beautiful piece. I say that because: 1) The petals compliment the stamen perfectly; 2) I didn’t have the same finished image in my head as you so I just see a wonderful finished bowl. I would love to see more of these. Thanks. 🧡🦃
Beautiful as everything you do , could you please tell me the size of the big mold? Thanks, my Best Regards for you and your family
Hi Julie Sonya from Whitsundays just wondering where you got the drawers 👍
Hi Julie thank you again for sharing. I couldn’t find this mould on your Facebook page
Next time try to lay the softened mold flat and raise the edges from underneath the mold. Toilet paper rolls works but you might need to raise higher. Looks good. Your practice makes mine easier!!
You know how you mix the mica w/a little alcohol and make a paste before you pour resin? Maybe mix the mica w/alcohol and paint it on?
Can you please post a link to where you ordered your very useful storage boxes, love to order them. I absolutely love all of your videos, keep them coming. Thank you for all your efforts.
I truly love it. The wispy does match and it’s very much original and wonderful
I need help please!!!!
I molded my resin in between 2 glass bowls. The top bowl is stuck to the resin. Any suggestions on how I can separate
One bit of advice, leave your drawers open just a crack. The resin being able to breathe makes a big difference for long term off gassing.
Oh, wow I love your drawers you got.
Hopefully it dries with the wispies that you made because I love them. But we will have to see what Mr. Resin wants to do.
It turned out very nice, I really like it. Great piece.
Have a Great Week This Week!!💗💗🙏🙏🌻🌵🍀🍂🍁🎨🐩☂️
This is lovely but I was wondering how much resin you ended up using as I have the same mold. Many thanks.
Thinner doesn’t hold on to/produce as much heat, so it takes longer to cure, typically.
If you want to avoid having any fall out with the mica, you can mix your mica with a bit of rubbing alcohol and paint it on wet. Then just let it dry for a few minutes and move forward.
Next time instead of putting the mica powder on the mould try mixing the powder with some isopropyl alcohol and paint it on to the mould does not leave any unwanted gold specks on the rest of the mould ,but well done good job thank you for sharing .
You are the one I mostly watch very pretty. I made some molds and they turned out ok. Practice makes perfect
Hello Mam
I am from india ..
Mam could you please tell me that after how much time hours to gave shape of a mould and
What is the size of the coaster u use ..
Thank you Mam for help ..
Try using a sponge that come with eye shadows. You can actually buy those separate from the eyeshadow
I can't find these anywhere. Can you give me the name of the school supply co. & phone# please?
Could you have used that pen you used for the edge and painted the middle then poured the black then the clear ? Im just learning so just trying to figure this out as your going along. Still turned out great!
Lot easier way to do this I demold and push it inside the bowl a d can do this regardless what side I want to be inside. I do these all the time and even use parchment paper and push em in a fully cured bowl. Obviously, it has to be a bit firmer to do it
Love it what would happen if you mixed the gold in the resin and brush it on let it set up , then did the black ???
I have an ashtray that I dust before hand. It takes an hour to do it but when I get the mica on parts I don’t want I get a-tips dip them in alcohol and rub that off. It comes right off.
Hi dear I am thinking about getting into resin projects and I am from the Caribbean i watch your tutorial most of the times can you please recommend a epoxy resin that I can start with please
I found that painting the raised partd with gold on my finger is way easier n more exact. I also mix my mica powder with glue and paint the edges of the mold with it. It comes out already gold-edged.
Hi Julie! And how do you store your trays? For me that’s a real pain! I have them on the top of my guestroom bed all spread out!
Love it , a thought did run across my mind though, wondering if you did that on a board then instead of tape you could use nails to push the mold in and actually can pin point the spot desired to hold . only something I started thinking watching you tape. like nail against the point desired , push in and tap tap to the board , LOL
These shelves look like they would be made for craft papers... great idea.
Also I just got this mold in the mail and was going to do the same thing. So funny. You beat me to it. LoL
You could try mixing some of the gold pigment with water to make more of a paint texture that will leave less mess behind.
Just started watching but have you thought of using a silicon spray on the bowl before laying your resin piece over it?
Great video I have the same moulds and had similar problems as you I learnt from another video if you paint brush mica on to tip the mould over some paper towel and tap the mould so and extra powder falls of and it has helped me greatly. Good luck with all your art
Could you use water based acrylic markers on the molds instead of the Mica?
I really like it, i love how the gold showed through, it looks amazing! I love the mould too, how the edges turned out. Just wondering, have you ever put the gold leaf down first prior to pouring the resin?
Brilliant idea, I love your videos, I am a beginner with resin and I have a question my coasters turn out amazing but there are rough edges in the middle mainly where the dots are why is that? and is there a technique I could use to avoid this?
I like this one. Thanks for new ideas! Can you put fruits in this bowl?
I literally just got this same mold. Can’t wait to try it! Urs came out beautiful ❤️
May I ask where you got the mould Diana
Yes where did you get it. I cant find it
i found the deco art 24kt gold with a brush worked for me. the pen didnt work as well, wasnt dark enough.
Maybe canned food would have held it still. Love the 🌟shape
I don't see this specific mold on your ebay. Where else can I purchase it?
I love the way it came out, it looks vintage to me, which is preferable !!! Gorgeous!!
Hey Julie! We would love a link to the storage drawers!
Google them in your country
