We run a kinze 3500 central fill planter. We also have 2 johndeere planters a 7200 12 row planter and a 750 twin 15 foot notill drill . The kinze planter is a great unit that has great performance. I'm currently rebuilding my kinze planter units with new bearings and bushings. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friend !

Great job explaining how the planter works. Very sophisticated system. First, thanks for answering my question regarding the RX Maps and how the Contour Map is produced.
Few questions: 1. What is the purpose of what appears to be an air compressor on the back of the planter frame? 2. Do the two fans operate at a fixed rate regardless of the seeding rate? 3. Does the planter have its own sealed hydraulic system or does it feed from the tractor like a lift cylinder?
Thanks for taking your time to provide this information. Very educational.

That is an air compressor. It's to provide air for the downforce system. I'll show it in the next video (#88).
The fan blowing seed to the rows runs at a constant speed whenever the planter is in the ground. There are actually 2 vacuum fans and they are adjusted based on the size of the corn seed I'm planting. Heavier seed requires high vacuum pressure.
The hydraulics are all connected to the tractor. Modern planters require a large volume of hydraulic flow.

Nathan. are these maps used in the tractor to control fertilizer and seed rates. The drive wheel on the fertilizer pump seems to compensate for speed, MAYBE?? I can see how the seed hydro motor can be adjusted to control seed rate. What controls them? This may be the point that the teacher would tell me "that will be covered in the next chapter." Do you soil test?

How much maintenance is required for the fertilizer feed lines and what sort of connectors are used?

Not much. The lines to each row are just push in connectors. The fill line is 2" cam lock.

How many acres do you plan a season?

This planter will plant around 1,500 acres this spring.

Nathan , Is it true that the brushes inside the meters , can be very pricey when they need replaced ?

Not the brushes I was showing. They are $5-$10 a piece. The brush belt in the high speed electric drive planters is more expensive but we don't have those.

Your fertilizer boots will wear more or get damaged if opening round sweep not changed. You are loosing two inches of depth also.
    Enjoy your videos.
