Enjoying your videos and seriously thinking of eventually moving to Italy. I'm Canadian and of course when looking for properties , it's very important to know how close a hospital is located.
You mentioned in one video that people were also requesting the distance to the nearest hospital and you made light of it. For anyone retiring there, yes it is a concern. Or for that matter, any age is a concern, especially these days. Please start making note of this in your future videos. Thank you!

This is a beautiful quiet little town. It's the reason I first came to Abruzzo. If I didn't have my place in Sulmona, I'd buy this in a second!

An important piece of info that you could have added is that this place is just an hour drive from the Abruzzo international airport in Pescara.
My family lives there, I want to move there, you have given me the incentive I needed. I'm related to the pasta King!❤
OHHH!!! Abruzzo is the land of my maternal family and my cousin lives in Fara San Martino! It is beautiful, the ancient ruins of the monastery and the San Martino gorges with the mountain are wonderful and there is the green water source with which numerous types of high quality pasta are produced, De Cecco, Del Verde, etc.
But it is in a rather isolated place, with roads difficult to drive because the roads are not in good condition, you have to be a good driver. However I would go there to live in a heartbeat if I didn't have a home and work in another part of Italy!
As an archaeologist whose family roots originate from Abbruzo, I simply HAVE to moove back there!

Italy is beautiful I’m half Italian spent several years in the south with my grandparents. It’s the magnitude of corruption and the whole system that spoils it that’s why I never bought a house. Also all the young are leaving and it’s full of elderly people, not that there is anything wrong with being elderly btw. Good luck to all its a special place for me 🙏🙏🙏❤️

I cycled through the town a few years ago, on the way to Pescara from Rome. Its a fantastic region for biking.

Ciao Dave, the town is stunning, I absolutely love it, the house does need some renovation, but always keeping with the time period of when it was built. I would make the lower bedroom the dining room, closer to the kitchen, and make the lounge where the dining room is now. a lot of reconfiguring to get another bathroom in the house, but it can be done, I see where without writing a book in the comments. I like it. Being Italian I love pasta, what could be better. Thanks for showing it.
Beautiful town. During my last trip to Abruzzo, I visited this area which is also home to De Cecco pasta and Del Verde pasta companies two of the best commercial pasta companies in Italy. The water comes from the Majella mountains which is approximately 40 K from the Adriatic coast.

At EU49,995 it wouldn't hurt one's pocket to put an additional EU50+ to complete updates to the kitchen and bathroom, adjust a few walls, perhaps another 1/2 or full bath upstairs. Love all the balconies and your idea of switching the purposes of the rooms around is 👌. I can just imagine the kitchen patio improvement and my lounger is already setup on the rooftop terrace😁 [PS - I luv all the floor tiles - really workable and in excellent condition] Great find.

Some of my Greatgrandparents were from Pescocostanza. I've been thinking of returning to Abruzzo.
We hardly get any snow, I live 10 minutes from there and we are lucky if we get a week of it.
Such a nice place. With 60k could become a stunning townhouse.
Good luck with that, particularly if you're over 68, as you might as well start looking for your burial plot now. I experienced the Italian "health Service" first-hand whilst watching my parents rapidly pass away thanks to the ignorance and very low priority given to people over a certain age. The hospitals tend to consider anyone over pensionable age as not worth spending too much time or resources on. I wouldn't even let my dog live over there. And even though i do have a house in Italy that's fully paid, so could live there for free, i'm more than happy to live in any other country even though i do have to shell-out for rent. So whilst it might seem ideal and wonderful moving over there, i'd suggest that you invest in a very good private health plan. But for me, Italy the last place i'd ever consider!
I could not disagree more with what you are saying. In my experience the health system is excellent and always ranks very high.
The South suffers a little but abruzzo northwards is excellent IMHO. The old folks live a long time because of diet, exercise and the health system, it speaks for itself but thanks for watching a video about a country you clearly hate......

@@vincenzocherubini2424 I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there will always be cases that are terrible. We had a horrendous experience in the UK through neglect.
All I can say is that we have had lots of use (Unfortunately) of the Italian health system and I cannot thank them enough.

Rome2Rio also reports no bus stop. In order to access bus or train one has to take a 85 to 110 euro taxi ride each way to a place with stations.
I gave up on looking at Abruzzo villages due to a lack of public transportation. I bought property in Marche which has very good bus service.
Dont believe all those out of date websites!
There has been at least twice daily bus service for years originating further inland at Roccaraso and Palena and heading to Lanciano that pass thru (and stop) in Fara. It even stops in Civitella at top of hill seen in vid before travelling down to Fara. And then there are at least the same number of return trips coming back thru from Lanciano.
Beautiful. Lots of potential. I would make 3 master suites with bathrooms and I would put a hot tub on the roof terrace with string lighting. Cheers🍷
