As someone who has a fascination with these ships, you did a fantastic job. Model wise, the inaccurate parts are understandable, notably the aft well deck not being enclosed. I applaud you for doing a model of a relatively unknown sinking.
Awesome model, love the details of the Brittanic being added in like the extra long lifeboat davits, that was a very nice touch. If you want a truly spectacular moment of sinking model, either the HMS Hood or the USS Arizona. Both of those are pretty similar, they sank when their magazines exploded after being hit by an enemy projectile.
I used to love building model ships and model planes, but time is what’s needed for me!! Soon when I retire I’ll get back on doing what I most love!! Great video!! thank you! The model ship came out beautiful!
@@samuel-studio But leave the sub out - it never went closer than 800 (IIRC) m/yd to the ship, that is roughly 4 ship lengths... and that was at the point of firing. After the hit Lusitania went on by herself for a fair bit. So if you want realism, the sub should not be anywhere in sight.
Gorgeous capture, and great resin work as well! If looking for another ocean liner event to recreate, the RMS Olympic's collision with the Nantucket lightship (1934) would make an excellent candidate :)
This is Amazing! I’m blown away by the amount of detail you’ve put in and even adding extra decks and lifeboats that weren’t on the Titanic. Keep up the great work 👍
This looks AMAZING!! The way you were able to improvise a titanic model, and still make a masterpiece? Chef’s kiss! Also, (of course this is all up to you) I would love to see the collision with the Olympic and U-103 (1918)! But remember, always do what you want to do next. YESSSSSSSSSS, i love that moment. people only remember titanic, and sometimes the Britannic with their sad ends. but the lead ship of the class, Olympic had an absolute badass life! it saddens me that she doesn't get the recognition she deserves, so id love to see a model be made of the ramming!
Spectacular, possibly only the holes left by the falling funnels could have been coloured black and also the damage from the mine on the port bow displayed!
Well done on the detail now it's starting to look just like the Britannic. Great way to turn what was supposed to be a Titanic model into the model of her late sister.
A nice representation of the sinking. Unfortunately Britannic had a different layout to the Titanic towards the rear giving the impression that B deck ran along most of the ship. She would also have a Union Jack with a white border taking up a fifth of its area on the forward pole.
I've actually been considering doing a Titanic to Britannic Conversion with a 1/200 scale Trumpeter Kit. After seeing your finished project I am convinced it's a good idea. Not going to be making a resin diorama though, it's going to be RC.
@Al Smith I actually already own that game/interactive story. I was planning to use that game as my general reference model (possibly even for sound files). In addition to ordering some books. Something I want to get working on the model is the lifeboat launching in addition to lights, sound, and smoke. Fortunately the Olympic class liners will provide plenty of room for all these functions, unlike some other models I've worked on in the past.
@@samuel-studio You ever thought of doing the sinking of the Mary Rose, king Henry the VIII ship. Or the Queen Elizabeth 1st. at the bottom of Hong Kong harbour. But I suppose you have to be able to get the models.
you did amazing! there are a few things you got wrong though, like the un-covered well deck at the stern, the gantry david at the front right, and the color of the masts; they should be yellow. but other than that it basicly perfect!
Have to say, that model is beautiful. Also fun fact, at that position, Britannic's bow had already hit the bottom of the sea, since the depth of that place is shorter than the overall length of the youngest Olympic-class by around 400ft or so
Now you got me hooked , I'm doing a pirate ship ,,I'm not sure if I wanted to add a lighthouse to the screen or another ship fighting so many ideals ,,, I see how you got hooked into this hobby,,,,,have a Great day ,,,,
Nice job, Actually Lusitania & Britannic ships are longer then the actual depth. I think when Titanic sank back then. I wonder if they knew how deep the oceans were.
Some inaccuracies but still a good job But here’s a fun fact about the sinking due to being in only 400 feet of water the bow actually stuck the sea bed and broke off resulting in the way the wreck looks today! And the wreck is also extremely well preserved and just beautiful
I wonder if there could be potential to make something simulate air bubbles coming from the things falling underwater but I dont work with resin, might not look so great/realistic
like in this drawing by ken marschall www.richiekohler.com/wp-content/uploads/galleries/Gallery-Andrea-Doria/1-Andrea-Doria-1956-Courtesy-of-Ken-Marschall.jpg
impressive, although some things can be changed for realism 1: the left side second to rear gantry davit was jammed inwards, not outwards. actually thats really it.
i have the exact same model as yours, (academy 1/700 led set) and i also want to convert it into the britannic. do you have a video about what to add or remove from the original model? thanks also your skill is amazing!

Thanks for your encouragement!
I was told that there is no normal lifeboat boom in the middle of the Britannic, right?
There are normal davits in the middle. The only things you got wrong were the missing covered well deck and the that you added one extra tall davit
@@takumi-san116 And the additional children's playroom structure on the boat deck. Granted, it would've been quite difficult to add anyways.

Spectacular, possibly only the holes left by the falling funnels could have been coloured black and also the damage from the mine on the port bow displayed!
It didn't hut the min on the port bow, that would cause a port list, she listened to starboard, and no, the movie was incorrect with this.
