How did you know that was a Level IV muscle biopsy? I understand why 88305 is correct. I just don't understand how you knew to go directly to Level IV. I had to look each number up.
@@Moonbunny55 The levels represent additional ascensions of the physician's work, but you find the specimen specifically assigned by reading through each level. I believe she had it memorized and only pointed out level IV because it was both gross and microscopic (which is level II and up). Now for skin, it is important to read what is being tested. Level II states "Skin, plastic repair" while level III states "Skin - cyst/tag/debridement." Level IV is "Skin, OTHER THAN cyst/tag/debridement/plastic repair." I hope this helps
Hi there! I was wondering if you had advice on learning/ memorizing the coding guidelines. There’s so many rules and exceptions I’ve become overwhelmed. Is it better just to know how to quickly find the rule when unsure or try to memorize, etc? Thank you in advance and for all your helpful videos ❤️
I keep seeing everywhere knowing where to find the rules is the way to go, but those coding guidelines are NOT the easiest to understand sometimes. Sometimes it reads like backwards gibberish.
@@bees5755 thank you for sharing what you have found! I will work on becoming familiar with where to find specific guidelines. And yes it’s like another language sometimes I swear lol
Hello! I would not try to memorize them. It’s just too risky. BUT, I would highlight them appropriately….anything that you see that makes you say, “Oh, okay!,” I would highlight. I also recommend using different color highlighters so your eyes don’t get bored while you are slimming thru. If you’re testing online, I would download a copy of the guidelines into pdf, so you can search for terms quickly. Good luck!
@@bees5755 Gibberish 😂 Yes! I noticed that the guidelines are over explained it seems. After reading through a ton you start to get a feel for the overexplained flow and it makes better sense after a while. Just pretend your brain is a computer and your just inputting information. Don’t think ‘how’ or ‘why’ it’ll trip you up. Full left brain activation 😂
I just started a job in coding and billing in Gastroenterology at a gastro clinic. My boss hired me bc I went to school for this but that was two years ago. I need help with my coding colonoscopy and egds. I am becoming familiar with them but now she wants me to do enteroscopy and ercps. I need help.
Patient comes in for screening HCG testing. Result will follow next appointment Lab results are not documented in same day testing. As a coder we see the results. Can a coder code to the result or keep it was screening unknown?
Do you have any books 📚 you would recommend for Medical Terminology along with Anatomy and Physiology? I was recommended to study those before taking CPC course with AAPC. Thank you 😊
Hi victoria iam Gowtham thanks for all your support can you clarify to me how to use molecular pathology gene table in CPT BOOK and some gene are have 3 to 4 cpt for example ACADM love form india❤
Thank you for clarifying panel coding
3:46 I was confused about this, I wasn't sure if the Calcium Ionized was included in the Calcium Total code.
Apparently it isn't.
Victoria this explanation and review is very helpful. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
This is what caused me to fail the exam had I done well here I would have passed
Same with me. Just took mine and failed because of this
Good morning Victoria. Question what can I do to practice coding guidelines I’m having a little trouble with it.
How would we know that Digoxin is under Therapeutic Drug Assay in the index?? It wasn't under digoxin or the path/lab section in the index

I was hoping to find an answer for how to discern the difference levels. As an example, there’s a couple of levels that have skin so which one?

Hi! Quick question. Do we ever have to memorize the codes, or can we always use our books?
You don't need to memorize the codes. But, over time you will have some you naturally memorize.
@@ContempoCoding That makes sense. Thank you so much! :)

Hi Victoria, can I call you? or do you host webinars/seminars for inpatient clinical laboratory? I have so many questions and we need your help!

Thank you for the suggestion -- I will add it on to my list of video ideas.
