Just started working for a hospital and I'm going to be working on the CRNA tickets to start. This is VERY helpful Victoria! Love your attitude and the brilliant way you explain!!! Youre a God sent!
Thank you so much for these reviews! I took a fast track course and didn't have a good understanding when looking at cases. You have helped with what to look for and how to go about finding them.
THANK YOU for this review series. I am set to re take the exam on Dec 4th here in AZ. There are no more test dates for 2021 without having to fly to it! So no extra pressure, right 😳😱 These videos are so right on target-- consider yourself hugged ! 💖
Perfecting timing as I just finished learning about CPT! The Anesthesia section was confusing me a bit when coding my practice documents. When is it appropriate to use the anesthesia codes, and when they are used, will the report give a general description of which physical status modifier I'd end up using? Some of the codes in the surgery section support anesthesia administered so that was also throwing me off. I apologize if these are obvious questions 🥲
What about modifiers for the person administering the anesthesia (anesthesiologist vs CRNA with and without supervision)? I found them in the appendix of HCPC but otherwise there is no mention of them. My instruction book discusses them very briefly but unless you know what modifier you are looking for in HCPC, you'd have to search the entire appendix to find the right one. Is there an easier way to find them? Thank you!
Do you know if in the national exam there will be questions where you have to figure out base values? Is it a good idea to have those notes in cpt book as to how to figure out?
Hello, Thank you for sharing your expertise. I have been coding for many years and not licensed but I am having issues this year with United Healthcare with Cataract post op care POS which I am using 11 as the patient is seen in our office. I have tried to appeal with Medicare guidelines and still they are denying what is your advise.
hello, I love yuor videos, they help me a lot so thank you and I appreciate your dedication. How do i find or distinguish a "flat fee" procedure in the surgery section of the book?
Also sorry question, if a question mentions anesthesia and other procedures are involved, would you code the anesthesia code as well or is anesthesia assumed to be part of the cpt code?
Typically the anesthesiologist and the provider performing the procedures are not the same. So the procedure would be coded and billed on the bill for the surgeon and anesthesia is separate.
How do you determine was is considered a mild systemic disease and a severe systemic disease? It seems so subjective to me. Same with E/M coding. Like is the documentation going to literally say "expanded history and exam, straight forward decision making"? Or do I need to determine that myself?
This helped I just wish you you took it furthing and did the math ex for a payment because once you get pace figuring out the time you have to multiply it times the pay and my math not matching lol
Surgery began at 8:26 am and finished at 8:18 am. I'm struggling to understand the period, how it is justified? Could you please help me out to understand this.
Hi! I need help… took cpt exam and failed. Part of my frustration is the test online and not paper. There’s no time to figure out the blackboard for notes . Also, is there a way to know what # of your 100 questions? I was so overwhelmed. I don’t know what to do..
I understand how overwhelming it can be! I recommend buying the official AAPC practice exams-they’re in the same format as the real exam, so you can get familiar with the online platform. This will help you practice navigating the interface and using the notes feature more efficiently during the test. www.aapc.com/shop2/practice-exams.aspx
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking as far as modifier status. If you're asking if you can look it up in an encoder, then no. But you can use your ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCs book to look up any information contained within them.
Wow, thank you so much for the Super Thanks donation! Your support truly means the world to me and helps keep this channel going. It allows me to continue creating content that, hopefully, brings value to viewers like you.
I am going to blow this medical coding exam before the end of the year ب إذن الله، THANK YOU for your wonderful work
You make everything so much easier to understand!!!

You posted this just in time for me! Thank you so much.
You are so welcome, Sara!
Just completed this series as I am studying for my CPC exam. This helped so so much. Thank you.

I passed my test in Cottonwood AZ in 2021! Lol

I had a question on the sequence of the modifiers. And the mod like QY, QK etc. Just a lil confused.
You are the best!
Thank you, Katrin!
Thank you
You bet, Leah!

I actually added them from the HCPCS book to the anesthesia section in my CPT for easy access.

I watched you E/M series and that part makes sense to me now. Still not understanding the criteria for those modifiers though!
Thanks❤

Hi Victoria, will you do a video specifically for hospital outpatient modifiers use? 😁
Surgery began at 8:26 am and finished at 8:18 am. I'm struggling to understand the period, how it is justified? Could you please help me out to understand this.
I hope you find the answer❤
@@beachfront4888 no mate still not get it. Is that a typo error in question?
Was a type, can even verify in the answer choices where it shows 9:18 instead of 8:18
Hi! Do you have any videos for CPT Pathology & Laboratory? I am kind of struggling with the different levels. Love your videos!
Not yet but coming soon!!
@@ContempoCoding I need help with this section as well! Along with medicine!
THANK YOU
My main issue with anesthesia coding is modifiers, not the anesthesia modifiers like QS, QK, QY, etc…but 51, 59 etc…it’s so confusing to me.
Are these videoes good when it comes to studying for the coc exam?
Somewhat, yes, but the COC has more information regarding payments and status indicators that is not on the CPC.

We don't have age limits for jobs in the USA other than for children, I'm not sure about other locations.
