Never forget that Tucker Carlson successfully argued in court that no-one should take him seriously
And rachel maddow said her show is just opinion to avoid a law suit.
It's almost like someone being used will say anything they can to not be forced to loose money. Shocking how that works huh?
How about Rachel Maddow? Was her case different?
@@chuksamajor3020is Maddow in this video, or Carlson? Great whataboutism.
@@tonyclif1 It’s quite clearly an attempt to see if he’s arguing in good faith. Those who believe the two cases are different, instantly lose credibility (in my humble opinion, at least).
@@chuksamajor3020 "it's quite clearly...." only clear when you don't want the opposite to your argument be seen as correct. As I said, it's whataboutism, clear and simple.

He’s still talking about those drugs? !🤦♂️
He's quadrupling down
When your income is at least partially dependent on misunderstanding or misrepresenting something some people won't stop.
I don't care. I have no sympathy for bleeding heart conservatives who would whine if they lost income for spreading lies. Those conservatives have no right to complain about a so-called "illegal" immigrant moving into the USA or to any country to make a living and improve their lives.
It's worse than that. The financial success Bret gets from telling people what they want to believe indicates to him he's doing the right thing. Then the community Bret builds from that just reinforces this belief through personal correspondence and such. (you changed my life etc.) (edit: changed he to Bret for clarity)
He lost income for speaking out. Catch up.
@@SaviorMoney-777that’s brave
@@SaviorMoney-777Are you talking about losing his faculty position in 2017?
If you check out his patreon stats, his income shot up significantly once he went from reasonable-cautious podcast about covid to conspiracy theorist. At his peak during the pandemic he was making far more than he would have as a university professor.
Tucker's face. Is he constipated or is he thinking "this guys a real piece of work, but it's all in a day's grift"?
Yeah, even Tucker isn't dumb enough to buy stuff like "17M deaths", which would translate to about 100M world wide (the 'study' he cites is from SA, which has only 10% of the worlds population).
All of the above.
My Mum used to say "If the wind changes your face will stay like that". Clearly it happened to Tucker, apparently whilst he was smelling a fart.
Lmfao.
I've always been amused that his facial expressions attract right wing idiots.
Late in life I redid all basic math and science a number of years ago, and then some including a couple semesters of microbiology. I really liked it. The second one totally focused on the immune system. It was amazing! Really complex and I made very cool flow charts to study and learn all the various feedback loops. And all based around partisan politics. Brilliant! Biden Harris 24!
The funniest part is tucker uhumming like he has any fucking clue about mRNA

Brett's only claim to fame was "standing up to the woke" student unrest at an obscure liberal arts college. Teapot tempest. This happened right before the pandemic where he figured out that, to keep that momentary fame going, he needed to be "controversial" about something. He hasn't had an original thought since.
Yeah. He got James Lindsay's head all twisted too.
Well, he was always over-rated. Imagine coming to the end of your life and your claim to fame was "I stood up to a woke student" and "I stood up against the black students". The guy is an insufferable twit.
@@adamp108 Even if it was 100% true, who really cares? It's a tiny college with zero entrance requirements. Being there and telling the students to chill out does not give Brett any expertise in anything much less immunology.
@@adamp108 Sounds like our takes on the Evergreen incident are pretty similar. Narcissistic imbecile who played the victim. Yep.
It may well have happened earlier. I had never even heard about it until he was trading on that "fame" as the pandemic started.
None of which qualifies him to opine on microbiology and immunology with any credibility.
And more people think Bret IS a narcissistic imbecile who insisted on inserting himself into drama and then played the victim for years@@adamp108
Tucker Carlson´s facial expression looks almost like he's wondering: mRNA, cells, immune system ... never heard of these things before, what the hell are they?
He is just happy spreading any misinformation that scares the poorly educated. At this point Tucker is basically working for Russian intelligence
Thanks, Dr. Wilson, for slogging through this stuff!
He did not learn anything. Or did but rather repeat the same lies…
Yes, antivaxxers have found their business model and will milk their public for as long as they can.
I was once an avid follower of Bret's podcast, but then the wheels fell off. Sad. It seems Bret is a scientist who cherry picks evidence.
Well he's just not a scientist anymore. He is Podcaster who makes money by cherry picking evidence for specific views. I supported him when he was attacked at his university position. He had some interesting talks. It's amazing how different people can be.

Bret has a career as a right wing media talking head, the last thing he's going to want to do is to risk it by engaging in a debate about his ideas with an actual expert in a public space.
Tough shit. Then he has no right to complain about leftwingers or any of the many OTHER political groups, as Alex Jones said exist, do the same: refuse to have anyone challenge any idea THEY want protected.

Dr Dan Wilson offered a private exchange as well so no excuses.
How does a person like Bret, who's ostensibly smart and articulate, display such a lack of judgement? Utterly bonkers.
Well, maybe it just took a pandemic to expose the real tragedy lurking behind the facade.
He's a grifter. He obviously knows better. Much like Dr. Campbell and Robert Malone he's doing it for the money and attention.

As a previous fan of Bret I am in a constant state of surprise at this slow-moving train wreck. I don't consume his content anymore so I tend to go long stretches without seeing what he's up to. Then when I do see something like this I'm in a state of absolute shock at how far he's been willing to go since the last time.
For some time I held out hope that reason would win out and he'd have a "come to Jesus" moment. Difficult no doubt, but do your mea culpa and move on. It's clear now that's never happening. He's willfully caught a ride on a moonbeam and is traveling at light speed ever further into the deep end.
I can't believe this. I see these clips and I'm stuck in a state of mouth-open WTFness. God damn, dude. You used to be someone worthy of respect. How did you let it come to this point?
It really stinks what's happened to him. I can't personally say I was ever a fan, but I certainly knew of him for quite a while. I even had a decent amount of sympathy for how things went for him at Evergreen, despite me being left for an American. I'm not sure if Evergreen is partially responsible or not but I suspect it left some trauma on him.
From there he went onto his heterodox phase with the IDW. So much became about culture at that point. Not to mention the expectation to have a view/opinion on nearly everything. Then Covid broke so many people. Some used it to reevaluate their lives and focus on family, others went fully into politics.
I still hope he comes around some day soon. Either way it's a good lesson to not rely on any one source or individual too much and always try to cross check. Know where a person is educated/trained and raise/reduce our trust accordingly. There is too much of a push for generalized experts, IMO.
Well, he lost the respect a long time ago. The evidence just took a long time to catch up.

Yes, and then he demonstrated how not to aspirate even if you thought that's what you should do - drawing back on the syringe should last 5-10 seconds, not the momentary draw back he was continually demonstrating.
That’s because he had one guy who was woefully super unlucky to have been injected directly to a vein (I watched the video of him talking to the chap). I mean, yes, It’s scary, and I’m glad the guy is okay, but when you compare the odds of that happening vs the literal billions of vaccinations done…🤷🏻♂️
Heck…it’d just be easier to tell people the signs of direct-vein-injection induced myocarditis and what to do if it happens. (Because symptoms, if I’m not mistaken, are fairly rapid onset; 24-48 hours post injection, I believe. But I could be wrong).

It will be super cool to see you too live debating some of these morons. I admit it - I F'in hate pseudoscience, charlatans and spreading and teaching of bigotry.
Of course usually the center of a debate is rhetoric and show rather than actual discussion of data and epistemological exercise... but I believe you both are enough educated, well-spoken and confident to do an excellent job. Bret is a terrible person. Truly dangerous and deluded.
Thank you so much for being a voice of reason and sanity in the ever-growing sea of social-media-fueled misinformation.
😂 Good one
Great work, Debunk!😀
I wish someone could explain why BW is doing this. He's not stupid (I mean, relative to some he may be but relative to me he's smart and I can understand why he's wrong). Is there that much short term monetary gain in this grift to discard your professional credibility? Is it vanity, a contrarian drive to be exceptional?
Being pro-vax pro-truth pro-science is more profitable. Bret and JC are stupidly destroying themselves@@sallybrookner4158
Must take a lot of work to put all this information together much appreciated. By the way in my opinion people like Bret know they are full of crap. Pretending that they think they are right gives them an excuse to do something they know is wrong. And their motives are always so obvious I can't understand how the cultist can't see through it.
Keep fighting the good fight. Over time people will come to their senses, though Bret won't - he's become a grifter captured by his audience.
Maybe he is just learning-impaired?
"learning-impaired" 🤭
Bert Winestain I just wanted to be first
You were the first. Let me be the first to congratulate you!
@@elrond_hubbard i dig your squash, elrond
Bert coudn't come - maybe next time.
@@elrond_hubbard It is perilous to study too deeply the arts of the Enemy, for good or for ill. But such falls and betrayals, alas, have happened before
If you look at Bert's research papers on research gate you will see that he is a sociologist not a scientist
Why would the "surprising" for mRNA vaccines to work? Likely I'm speaking from some kind of hindsight bias plus the layman bias of someone who pretty much only got simplified explanations intended for lay people, but nevertheless it seems just like a "fancy" technique to deliver the antigen, one that they happened to have previously developed coincidentally in time for it to be its potential big-time world premiere. What I can imagine being somewhat "surprising" was finding out specifically the key antigen, but again that's perhaps owed to not knowing much/anything from the field. Even the viral vector one to me seems somewhat weirder and prone to fail than the "non-viral" mRNA one. Intuitively/not-knowing-nearly-anything, the VV ones seems something more complex, both the process of development itself and the end-product. There was even some concern that the Russian one could have some non-negligible amount of the vector in its "wild" form, infectious and without the SARS-cov-2 antigens (not as an evil secret plan, but manufacturing issues). The thing that kind of surprised me as I recall, was that there weren't that many news regarding dead-ends of prototypes regarding ADE, which was something I had read was hypothesized for vaccines against SARS-1, but I think it wasn't even confirmed.
Thank you
Why does the world have to put up with these fakes - and in popular widely distributed channels???
Yeah i know. Luckily "dr" wilson only has 36k subscribers and 90% appear to be bots based on the comments
Because most people don't know how to check sources, so they don't realize when they are lied to.
What’s your favorite D&D class to play?
Echo knight for early game but burns out fast at later levels. Probably overall a forge cleric, they can be surprisingly beastly in combat, versatile and have solid AC. 😉 Non of that paladin oath bs either.

John the musician wants to debate Dr Wilson, a micro biologist, when he doesn’t even understand the difference between in vivo and in vitro 😂
When you can make up your own science in vivo can mean 'in a Petri dish' if you want it to!
Brett's funk is so rank, he just about debunks himself. Thanks for taking out the trash, Dr. Wilson!
How long do we have to wait for your rebuttal?
...so...how long?

How does he get soooo much attention? People are going to believe what they want to believe regardless of the evidence.
Ironic
Unlimited supply of twits out there.
I don't get it either. A boring non-charismatic lump of nothing.
I think it’s nice that you give him the benefit of the doubt, but the truth is that he knows perfectly well how the vaccines work. He knows that aspiration is irrelevant to intramuscular injections.
The truth is that he’s a liar.
Maybe, but to me he is a crank who believes every lying word he utters. That's sort of worse in a way.
