If your finished painting and you don’t feel like cleaning your brushes just put them in a cup or a zip lock bag and throw them in the freezer. Next day or month thaw out and continue where you left off.
Pure laziness how hard is it to clean it after each uses if water available of course
@@xxredhoodxx5738 I have a life to get back to I don't have time to clean brushes. Sometimes I just throw them away.
@@xxredhoodxx5738 with people who paint often or everyday, it’s normal for them to not clean their brush after every painting session because it becomes tedious. Now if you’re not painting for a month, definitely just clean your brush, but if you’re planning on still painting the day after there’s really no need to. Not to mention depending on what you’re cleaning your brushes with, if you’re using any kind of chemical solutions like for example with oil paints, it can damage your brushes when done too much.
@@valentine9986 i work in painting myself if we are gonna be painting the next day the same color no point in washing it. But we aren’t gonna let a $20 brush dry up well at least not me personally.
@@xxredhoodxx5738You just said it was lazy to store your brushes or freeze them, but how does that make your situation better when you leave them in paint overnight?
Mineral or coconut oil works too. Especially on the skin.
If I don't finish my project or will add a 2nd or 3rd coat of the same color, I just put the paintbrush or roller that I used inside a bag, make a knot, and put it inside the refrigerator. Can be there for days. Then an hour before I am going to reuse it, I take it out so it'll be at room temperature, and it's all good. I used to waste so much money throwing away brushes after I painted or they hardened, thinking I couldn't reuse them.
Darn! I tossed a brush just last week because it hardened. Thanks for this!!
Same
Okay.
1. Your dumb af for that one. How do you leave it with paint to dry in the first place? You couldve just washed iit off. Most paint consumers use is water based.
2. Its just a brush.
OMG this is what I needed to see!!!! Thank you!
A great way to clean brushes like that also is to use a container yr brush can fit all the way in, and lay a couple dryer sheets on the bottom and put really hot water in it or use fabric softener with really hot water and let them soap for few hours and the softener from the fabric softener or dryer sheets will soften that had paint so it comes right out! I used this method when I forget! For most part I try to keep a cup or something with hot water and dawn dish soap to stick them in once I’m done painting!
Awesome thank you.
Do you know does this work for a chalk paint, or milk paint also?
@@knowyourlove5613 yes
@@knowyourlove5613 if the brushes are really bad I use both dryer sheets and softener and put them in a dish with a lid and then let them sit overnight

Thank you will try that too
Oh my...thank you!!! Just getting ready to paint and this ALWAYS happens to me! I have 4 brushes in the garage wrapped in cling wrap that were forgotten! I will definitely try this!
Same here! On top of that, I let it happen to the really good ones. SMH
Downy works well to. Let sit for 24 hrs, brush every thing out, then a quick wash so no residue is on the bristles to possibly ruin certain paints. This is inlu for those brushes that have had paint in them for week or so. Not for a day or two.
Thank you so very much for sharing your wisdom...especially at the exact time that I truly need it!! Painted our bathroom ceiling with a roller on a long pole for the majority of the project but needed a brush to cut in a a few other tricky areas. After finishing my shoulders were screaming in pain and exhaustion as well as my wrists. Placed all of the used supplies in the laundry room sink while tidying up the bathroom. Meant to go right back to clean the brushes and roller right away but...you know how it goes lol. Earlier today I released my error. Thank goodness you posted this awesome video. I wholeheartedly appreciate it and everything you do.
❤️ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
It really works thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fabric softener and hot water works too!
Thank you for sharing I've done this to a lot of brushes and had felt I had to throw them out have a great day God bless
Ummm. Countless brushes will be spared! 😅Thank you!!
Oh man, I could have really used this video last weekend! I ended up throwing my paint brush away and purchased two more today after work. 🥺
Me tooooo!!😒
Fabric softener works well too.
Thank you for sharing keep safe Godbless
Great video, saw you on TV the other day demonstrating cleaning and disinfecting ideas, congrats on that!
Thank you for this tip.
Also, rubbing alcohol works really well.
I use Dawn dish soap and it is the best soap i have ever used for this hack..
It worked !🎉 I really needed it
Oh WOW! Thank you. I have thrown away so many brushes. 💖
Brilliant as always!!
Wow!! Never knew...tysm Christina....hugs....
people i work with tell me not to wash the paint brush with hot water that itll make the hairs bend or stick out but i dont believe that
I e done something similar sooo many times. It is work but it does save the brush for future use.
I've done this before and it works!!
Thanks you for this😙😙😚😚
Gonna try this with my craft brushes. My daughter continues to not wash my brushes when she’s done.
I remember having a long talk with my son about this and he then thought coming to tell me he was done and I could wash the brushes now was what I meant lolol he is 12 now but that wasn't that long ago that he would do this.
I feel your pain lol
Does it work for varnish brush that has been dried for a week too?
Good tip, but to all .. wash your brushes and keep your tools clean. Respect and they'll reward you! 💯
Thank you! Every other video is talking about a product that’s not available on this side of the world but guess what? I have hot water and dish soap 😁
hot water loosens the bristles from the stem. avoid hot water and use lemon water.
It's work
Mere paint brushes khrab Ho chuke the
Thank you. This is exactly what i was looking for. ❤😊
That my little pony tail combing technique came in handy!
Really Helpful
Will try hotter water. My water wasn't hit like that. Thanks so much
Any tips for cleaning brushes that have chalk paint?
If you use the method I posted above taking a container and adding a dryer sheet to it and a little fabric softener or one or other depending on how bad brush is with really hot water place the dryer sheet along bottom add yr water put yr brush in and put the lid on let sit for few hours or over night then rinse the softener and dryer sheet act like a conditioner and soften the paint and come right out
Letting them soak in Downey after doing hot soapy water does wonders!
Interesting! I'll have to try that!
Acetone, but it destroys the glue around the hair little bit
Have you tried isopropyl alcohol? Might be faster
Thank you sister
Great Tip!
THANK YOU
Any idea on how to remove the paint from a roller brush?
Great advice!😊
Thanks alot Nice shareing 👍🏾
Good tips
Can’t save it, the end of the brush those are never the same after that, basically like split end hairs you can never cut in with it again.
Hot water with detergent ??
Thanks a lot
Awesome. Thanks 😃
Love ur shorts!! (Videos). Lol
Wow, that looks good as new thanks.
Totally needed this.
Wire brush works too:)
Or just use paint thinner
Thank you for this!!! I’ve thrown out plenty of brushes because of this
WOW!
I wish I knew this 3 months ago!
Thanks! I need that!
What she used
I treat those brushes just as hair like cleaning it with sampoo then conditioner 😂
Mineral spirits, your welcome
Just boil them its quicker and cleaner
Mind blown 🤯
Literally every painter I ever talked to says never used hot water
Someone mentioned hand sanitizer… OMG it worked great! Try it.
Yes I did.. tfs
This didn’t work for me. I’ve watched several videos and they all say soap and water. Maybe the door and trim paint is oil based? I’m a real rookie as this is the first door and trim I’ve ever done.
Help, if you can?
Now do oil based paint
Awesome ❤🎉 and lovely
Damn and I threw away my good brush today. Cause it was hard to 🤦🏽♀️
nice
THANK YOU. I USED MY BROTHERS PAINT BRUSHES AND I FORGOT TO CLEAN THEM. HES NOT GOONG TO BE MAD ANYMORE YAYY
That's what I do !
I’m so lazy I’d just buy a new brush lol
Option B! HAHA!
Omg I wish I would’ve seen this video 2 weeks earlier! Threw out 3 paint brushes because I forgot to wash them. Ugghh
Paint thinner or kerosene. Back to new in 5 min.
I'm defo lazy that would go in the bin and would a new one 😬
Great tip! I've forgotten brushes so many times, that now I buy cheap ones and throw them away when I'm done.
Cool
You should put these on tiktok
Aweeee, the butifu brushes I threwww
How tf is this a hack that's literally what you are SUPPOSED to do when they do get like that...
Uh oh
Or you could just use water and a couple dishwasher and message it with your hands and done ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I tried this and the bristles came right out my brush. 😂
I am throwing it away
Dollarama, $1.25 new brush
OH YEAH MINE IS 3yrs OLD 😭
Alcohol
Lol I just buy a new brush.
Or be lazy like me and crack them and let more paint build up
Deisel gas out in sun
Or just buy another brush, theyre cheap af. Not worth the time invested.
Ladkiyo pr kabhi bharosa mat kro bc
Just look after your brushes😂can’t stand other painters who just ruin all their gear, it’s just standard practice really
