Correct it Cost 5.5 Billion USD for Conventional Powered one....not the nuclear one.
The 5.5 Billion Price Quote was given in 2016. The Nuclear one will exceed 7 Billion Mark For Sure
Real question is..... Does Russian economy capable to support aircraft carrier plan??
Exactly
They are not going for this
Obviously not
They abandoned the only one they had in 2016. they are weak af 😂

After experience with vikramaditya, I don't think Indian Navy will even think about Russian Carrier.
Why, i thought it served us well?
@@viswajitbala7924 it did, but cost us lot more than expected, and had multiple fires resulting in repeated stall in operations. Russians honey trapped one of naval officer and increase price significantly.
@@james4807M Interesting to know. But we should expect this from post-soviet aircraft carrier, just like how we had the MiG-21 bison fleet. Simple ans It is just old
@@viswajitbala7924 no it had issues when it was under Russian service as well. You can't fix design flaws. We will retire it in next 10-15y
@@james4807M oh. Thanks for informing.
Well In Modern Warships game this ACV called "Shtorm" and it's equipped with 3 S-400 Air defense systems. It's also equipped with PAK-DA Bomber In game.
Russia's aircraft carrier needs funding and majority of their defence budget is allocated to their army and airforce. The Navy gets much less money and even there a major portion goes to the submarine fleet
You forgot some important features of Russian aircraft carriers.
Tugboats for propulsion and a big prayer room so the crew can prey that sudden fires don't start anywhere or some giant crane falls on deck.
I second that 😂
And Vlad smokes near wrong places making submarines out of the ships 🙂
Ak daum sahi 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 🙌
😂🤣🤣🤣
These will use a new high tech method of propulsion called Tugboats which were first seen on the Kuznetsov
I think the Indian Navy should have made some change in future aircraft carrier
That would have taken another 15 years but India needs another one before 2031 as the older russian-made one will be retiring. So, correct decision by Indian govt.
No, we need to build another of the same carrier so that we don’t lose the knowledge and experience. If you don’t continuously build aircraft carriers the people who built the aircraft carrier will either move to another country to work or go into a different company and forget what they learned.
They’re doing it before the current one retires
There will be few design changes to accommodate UCAV and UAVs
INS Vikramaditya is a very old ship (it was earlier a Cruiser, but later converted for Indian needs) which was RETIRED even by the Russian Navy (before the 90s) and then refurbished and bought by India and inducted in 2013
So the body of the AC is VERY OLD and we NEED a replacement
And in 5-7 years only we can build a second INS Vikrant
So instead of wasting time beginning from scratch and developing just 1 carrier again (new one), why not, for the time being, build a 2nd INS Vikrant class AC (which shall also be lower in cost to produce, as all the assembly lines and production lines are still somewhat active, thus also making it FASTER to develop another AC)
A 2nd AC can be developed by 2028, and then after that, Indian Navy should directly go for a Super carrier (75,000 to 100,000 in displacement, double than that of Vikrant) which shall be Nuclear Powered with Catapult mechanism
This way the previously invested efforts to develop an aircraft carrier will be retained, and effectively used, in short - Paisa Vasool deal
Baaki 3rd MORE ADVANCED Aircraft Carrier can be made from scratch later (2028-2040 time period)
This way, we will always have 3 Aircraft Carriers active, 1 Nuclear one (most probably), and the other 2 Non Nuclear ones, the Non Nuclear ones can cycle one by one (when one is in refits, another can be deployed, and so on..)
First building INS Vikrant, then building a 65,000 ton Non Nuclear (yet with Catapult one), and then a future Super Carrier, is like making 3 different carriers, so every time, from scratch, money for RND needs to be spent... while if we build 1-2 carriers more of same class, that will not include RND costs, and we will get it for cheap and in less time
The plan is good
Btw if we are still gonna make a Vikrant class one as well, still if we can give like 2-4 more years to it, we can make it like Charles De'Gaulle (but non nuclear)
But that's a later talk, it's good that we are being quick with orders
If we reach the same speed for all other projects and build a 200-250 naval assets Navy, it's still decent and good enough for self defence
The current 100-120 one is also good, but doubling things up will be nice
Russia should use its surplus Rupees to order Indian made medium weight carriers.
They want Semiconductor and Electronics.
@@MrRichardlobo
That is coming soon as well.
This body was made in 1990. So it is aged.
We don't require Russian carrier. They decived too much in the case of Vikramaditya.
Rather it is stober model, not catober .

Instead of investing more and more on highly capital and resources intensive, long time requiring aircraft carriers, navy should think on investing on more shore based maritime patrol aircrafts, drones, nuclear powered submarines and shore based awacs capabilities .
... and one of their main strengths --- space based weapons.
One is not the alternative to another. Navy is investigating in everything, from midget submarines to sea drones, to even TEDBF and nuclear subs. We need to advance in everything.
Nation like India need minimum 3 carriers to monitor IOR . Russia don't need because of their geo location.
Do you know that Aircraft Carriers give you the flexibility to deploy "drones" and "fighter jets" ?? That too everywhere
And in case it's a big Aircraft Carrier (and has Catapult mechanism), it can even launch "AWACs "
What's the use of such things if you are able to use them just near the shore?
Why not use them everywhere (on a carrier) and shoo away the enemies from far away??
@@lightyagami5483
future attacks will come straight down from space onto carriers.
one of those projectiles launched from satellites and it will be lights out for the slow, lumbering carrier.
Jai Hind 🇮🇳
Bhart should have a super carrier like this .5.5 billion it's a cheeper than American USS jerald ford 12billion dollers.1lakh displacement wow.
The most advanced tech used in this project is CGI
Super carriers are good for countries who have super economy like say USA or China, the Super Carriers have tremendous air power, range and reach, also they require a big battle group to support them, the cost of operations is much high, also if the carrier goes for maintenance, it will take a long time for that. My view is better than that go for for Vikrant class carriers but with Nuclear power or say a Power projection carriers like Mistraal or Juan carlos class that can operate helicopters and drones. HALE drone can be used for ISR & Strike, thus providing lower operating cost for ensuring situational awareness for an area of say 5000 square miles. Right now India should invest in
Nuclear powered SSNs track and hunt enemy battlegroups & assets), SSBN (to provide 2nd strike capability) IACs to ensure that we have the ability to control our won backyard. Power projection vessels which can carry HALE drones to ensure that there is total situational awareness of what is happening from say Malacca straits to Suez Canal
Basically something like Charles De gaulle from France right??
They are catapult operated, have nuclear propulsion and can carry 30-40 aircraft According to sources.
@@shrishpotdar343 Right now we should build another Vikrant class carrier with Gas turbine and venture into producing say SSNs and SSGN for conventional threats and SSBN for second strike capability. Also my view would be to develop & build 4 power projection vessels, that can be stationed at important Naval bases.
So the three carriers at say A&N, INS Kadamba & INS Vishakhapatanam, these would be accompanied by its fleet support vessels, & 3 frigates, 2 destroyers, 2 SSNs & 2 SSKs.
the power projection vessels like say Mistral or Juan carlos class to be placed at say Mumbai port, Kochi, Chennai & Kolkata. these should be with Armed marines or MARCOS units, this should be accompanied by fleet support ships, 3 frigates and destroyer, and 3 SSKs when moving operationally. These PPVs shoud have ability to carry say 20-22 helicopters (IMRH & ALH III) and about 6 HALE turbofan powered droned that can provide both ISR & attack capability.
In the mean time we should develop our nuclear power capability, & go for something like say a bigger class nuclear powered carrier like say Charles de Gaulle, which should be easier to operate & maintain, Building super carriers is possible when we have super economy and aspirations to dominate some far away areas. Building something like Storm or Gerald Ford is good for power projection but the cost involved, to build, operate would not be feasible. Of course such carriers can have say 100 planes, are the Indian navy making 100 aircraft sorties from their existing carriers in a week, 2 weeks? My view is to keep max 50 plane/helicopter compliment, out of which say 36 should be MRFA, 8, IMRH and ALH for different roles & balance 6 should be HALE drones which handle ISR operations. thus providing the carrier with AEW and having ability to have 6-8 pylons but regularly carrying say 1 light Torpedo for its mission. The brunt of regular flying to be done by drones because they can be on station for very long & the crew can be changed for rest during the operation which cannot be possible for fighter jets. The cost of operating drones will be far cheaper than sortie of say Naval Tejas or Mig-29K or Rafale. thus in a way reducing or averaging out the operational expenses, of course regular sorties by MRFA are needed but those can be controlled or less as they have an eye in the sky. The idea would be to have smaller units that we need, and not too much excess that we find it difficult to manage. Note that right now UK is finding difficult to manage 2 carriers, due to cost, they would like to get rid of one carrier if they can. their economy does not support 2 carrier operations.
India has a large number of poor people who need economic development more than aircraft carriers. India's economy is not as good as Germany's
@@sachinmesta4238 well I guess it'd be better if they get a conventional CATOBAR carrier first, India has never used CATOBAR since the retirement of the OG vikrant I guess.
Plus if we keep public welfare and development while trying to keep a decent budget for defence then I guess it'd be better for ouf country RN, aircraft carriers are costly and do need a lot of resources to run honestly plus I guess a proper base "fortress" could be built at Andaman and nikobar and lakshya dweep to make things easier. But that's just my opinion, the defence experts in the ministry are surely more capable to take care of the defence of their country so I rest my case here.
Can we collaborate with Japan, South Korea for future aircraft carrier
It will reduce cost and we would be able to export aircraft carriers
India vande Bharat ki seat import kar raha hai aur aircraft carrier export karega kuch bhi😂
Wow...what an intro

Yes, we have mentioned it, but the version which is to be installed on the aircraft carrier will be slightly different
Storm❌ Shit Storm✅ 😂
We got our hands burned by the last Russian carrier deal these guys will make half assed products to get it funded by overseas customers aka India and then go back on their word and starts arm twisting for more money when we're already halfway in and beyond point of no return....even civilian projects deal with them is like that only for example the sleeper vande bharat they came out as L1 but now doing randi rona on wanting to have 51% share for them and not like what earlier planned of Indian partner BHEL having it
Hello ir plz make your next video on RF TARK Pyotir Veliky the lone Russian battle cruiser of the kirov class plz sir
Engineering is only limited to funding..... And that's a problem with Russia.
No more cope slope!
I think the government should now take time for INS vishal class carrier and order at least 2 of them
At once.
Ordering them by 2030 is okay too, and build them simultaneously
And getting the first carrier not before 2040...
I think that would be a good bet...
It would be better if an extra order for INS Vikrant class is placed in the meantime, which can be named as INS Viraat again, while simultaneously working on a larger 80,000-100,000 ton displacement carrier, which can be named INS Vishal and INS Vikramaditya (again)
INS Vikramaditya (current) is gonna retire as it's old, and making another totally new, bigger, CATAPULT system carrier, with "Nuclear power" too perhaps, will take atleast 15-20 years, while by 2030-35 we will retire the INS Vikramaditya, thus we need a 2nd similar small yet important carrier
Perhaps TEDBFs can operate from Vikrant and Viraat, while the Rafale Ms being bought soon can be shifted to Andaman and Nicobar Islands (as an airbase) later...
The newer futuristic INS Vikramaditya (new one) and INS Vishal, which shall be 80,000 ton displacement carriers (or better), would operate newer aircrafts (which shall come out by 2040-45)
This is the bigger plan perhaps
For the meantime, after INS Vikramaditya (current) is decommissioned, we would still have INS Vikrant and INS Viraat (new Viraat, repeat order one), and buying 4 more LHDs would do the job (perhaps Mistral class of France, or Juan Carlos ones of Spain, or a LHD made from scratch in India by the year 2035-40)
If in future Russia builds this carrier
It will be a great counter to America in Black Sea and Artic Region
Aircraft carriers are not allowed in black sea

Russia: no nuclear powered aircraft carriers
Also Russia : Has multiple nuclear powered ice breakers
Shtorm was nearly ford capasity of an aircraft carrier , big and large
Don't know about Russia, but India have a long way to go. We may have built our IAC but a nuclear powered AC is needed like the French. Secondly more number of Rafale like aircraft is required to be inducted and placed at strategic locations. One who dominates the skies will shape the batte in future. We may hate the US and China, but there are a lot to learn from them.
What is it going to carry? We don’t have enough aircrafts.
Russia has no experience in building a AC from scratch. We have made 1. Russia is 0. Shouldnt Russia be learning n ordering from us?
No thx we dont need vaporware from Russia. We should design our own. Even if it has glitches, we will learn from mistakes n improve future versions. Spend more on local R n D n take a plunge n build something large on our own.

At 2:46 what is the inside the long black containers on the deck of aircraft carrier?
They are places where two parallel catapult (steam or emals) launchers are being built. They will launch aircraft. China's new aircraft carrier doesn't have a ski jump. It has this catapult launch technology which is superior to ski jump.

Anyways we are capable to make our own ships we dont need them to make our ships anymore.
If India is still sitting on Making 45K to 50K Tonne with standard mechanisms (Gas turbine engines, Non supported steam catapult system) then when we will give strong competition to world countries. Should make 80K to 90K tonnes capacity one and have nuclear capable turbine systems to drive the Mammoth so that our rival countries cannot even plan to enter our sea waters…
I think the next aircraft carrier will do have CATOBAR system, not a flat deck though. And also tye next aircraft carrier after this one will definitely be a flat deck, nucleus carrier. And maybe even have EMALS, cause india and US is currently working this new tech, and india could get them as a TOT from IS for our next nuclear carrier. I believe it will atleast be a 65k ton, and at mas it can get 80k.
Ye project khud bohot bade storm me hasa hai nikal nahi pa raha hai

Six Aircraft Carriers...what a joke
I think we should join russia strom aircraft carrier project and jointly research and development
too big
and too costly
It is Just a waste of time and money
I think thats highly Unlikely because of the INS Vikramaditya time Delay and exceeding cost Fiasco before nearly made Us dump the purchase of the vessel. They may colaborate on the Nuclear power Unit but who knows
Russia neither has expertise OR good experience with their own Carriers…Kuznetsov is unlikely to join service after so many incidents and no faith in that design ..they can’t maintain it…,even Russians themselves do not believe in carriers fleet and they tend toward atom subs . Their carrier are not good design covert expensive and difficult to maintain and probable toward accidents prone and frequent breakdown. They lack proper crew confirm proper AirPower and studs like catapult which is necessary in big carriers..all this things point towards no Russian move towards carriers battle group…
Economy and Military is not equivalent in Russia 😂, Russia is still second largest Military and fara behind in Economy
I think rather than focusing on aircraft carriers we should prioritise nuclear submarine.
Both of them are important we can't just prioritise one
Deep terotery mein aircraft hi kam dete hai ..
