Neither will USA and Russia sell such bombers (they have not done it to any country so far) nor India has any plans to buy the same.We should be more bothered whether world famous HAL is able to supply the ordered Tejas Mk1A on time or whether and when Tejas Mk2,AMCA and TEDBF come out of paper and actually become a reality.

@@rahulkumarsaha7209 You have been misinformed. Russia offered Tu-22M3 bombers a long time back but never offered Tu-160 as India never asked for it. In present day Indian strategic thinking, there is no space for Tu-160 because our nuclear doctrine is mainly based on missiles and not strategic bombers. And India presently has no plans to use such bombers for tactical use.
Tu-160 will be better option

@alphabetsim Drones doesn't have enough mission endurance to meet Navy's requirement . Can't equip drones with Bramhos or Bramhos NG . We do need something like this since we already have base in Andaman and Nicobar , and the new Jatayu Base will ensure compatibility . I don't think we can load it on Aircraft carrier but deficiency of fighters can still be compensated with this one . Navy heavily needs this but the purchase of UK's Aircraft carrier and 200 Bramhos will hamper this deal for sure .

The thing about the B-1B is, it's a repurposed and redesigned version of the B-1A which is what the Tu-160 was built to compete against. The B-1A was a high speed high altitude bomber and was probably the fastest at the time. But because of the growing threat of the Mig-25 it was already superseded and hence canceled. The design being as good as it was the Air Force revived it and decided to repurpose it to a high speed low altitude penetrator bomber.
So now the B-1B has a terrain following radar as well as an extra weapon, which is simply to use it's shockwave at low altitude. On a side note, I believe the B-21 is going to be available for export, why doesn't India get into the B-21 program?
It would be a waste of our limited resources , Russia having 2nd largest airforce in the world is having trouble penerating ukrainian airspace, which has a minimal airforce, these big bombers will not be able to go deep into either chinese or pakistani airspace who are our principal adversaries , we donot have trans continental adversaries or to protect our intrests across the globe say in europe, africa or north america to send these bombers on an long distant bombing missions., so buying these bombers are squandering our resources on something which is of very limited utility in indian context.
We already hv Multi n Omni Role Jets, and Stealth versions of the same upcoming, that can perform Nuke Bombings besides dogfight n other works. If u really want a dedicated bomber, Better than B1 n Tu-160, guys should consider the Su-34M2, which is way better than them n compact in size, capable of large scale Nuke Bombing, a LEGIT n Ideal replacement of/for the Sepecat Jaguar thats currently in service.
You are not getting the context, not every weapon can be integrated to them we already su30 why would we need another flanker of same dimension?
Excellent video. A very pertinent point. IAF must induct some of these. These will dominate the Indian Ocean region completely, and deter any Chinese Naval surface threat very cheaply as compared to aircraft carriers. Further, the IAF will also be able to use these in the continental theatre as missile trucks, for ESM, ELINT, and also, the missiles they carry will be able to reach the Chinese heartland also (Hainan island and beyond) which no air or sea platform can reach as of now.

We need tu33 m3 latest upgraded version for India.....b1 or tu160 not required as per immediate strategic needs
TU-160 is significantly faster and comes with a much better weapons package. Also carries much more weapons inside and is nuclear capable. Russia doesn't put restrictions on use. Furthermore logistics wise TU-160 will be better in a few years as once B1B is retired then getting parts for repair and maintenance won't be possible anymore. Any B1B acquired will come with limited airframe life whereas a TU-160 will be brand new. Lastly Russia allows India to make indigenous modifications while US doesn't.

As far as my knowledge goes both the bombers are very different. A youtube channel called task and purpose has made a video about this. It is heavily siding towards the US but it gives a general idea. Try to ignore the propaganda in that video.

India must buy the bombers. The Russian Tu160 is a formidable fighter bomber aircraft. It has no rival. America has a B-1bomber. But it has some limitations.
Tu 160 is like airbus A320,just made bigger and faster,B1 is advanced and still very capable
I suggest india should make airfield suitable for lancer and allow America to use it rather then spending own money on it staff training operation maintenance etc... 🤔

For a complete control of IOR our IN needs atleast 12-18 of such bombers, preferrably an additional 6 for our Andaman Base....apart from this we also need to upgrade our corvette fleet which are a bit under-armed, preferrably our designs must be based on Israeli Saar class (1500-1800t) corvettes so that they are capable of neutralizing pakistani navy by themselves while the bulk of our capital ships, Frigates & Destroyers, are focused on longer range missions & against china in southern part of our oceans...also we need to speed-up the manufacturing of Next Gen Frigates & Destroyers with a focus to add more teeth per tonnage similar to Sejong class or Aegis class capabilities...we also need to speed-up the procurement of Rafale-Ms, additional P-8Is....our submarine fleets must have additional 6 Scorpenes & 6 Type 212/214s or S-80s, with renewed focus on our own designs....Further we need to approve an additional Vikrant class carrier, apart from the purchase of HMS Prince of Wales, if available

keeping the specifications aside BUYING US based weapons always create a doubt, first this will create a dependency of bharat on USA the 2nd point is ONE NEVER KNOWS WHEN USA BECOME ANTI INDIA so upgradation will be a big problem as TOT wont happen too. WE HAVE MANNY RUSSIA WEAPONS IF BHARAT GET Tu-160 it wont create much of a problem as RUSSIA is mostly ready for TOT and any upgradation will be easier.

Well i have a very different view. India doesn't need these high maintenance bombers. Makes sense only if India gets them as cheap as a new SU 30 aircraft. If you talk of carrier battle group, anyway you are not able to counter that with Bomber, cause you will be intercepted by enemy fighters. Long range ballistic and cruise missiles are perfect counter.
Only an idiot will challenge Indian Navy in Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. And to target deep in Indian ocean we do have our carrier strike groups also with support from IAF Su 30 loaded with Brahmos-A n Brahmos NG.
a B-1B can launch at targets from far away, depending on the missile.

India should take Tu 160 as it is in production so problem in parts we can ask to build some critical component like engine in India under license and other things like sensor radar we can already built it getting b 1 is wrong choice because it s us aircraft and it's policy it can easily paralyse our fleet

B1B is very old aircraft with an old technology in comparison with tuplov 160 blackjack or tu223m .... We shd go for tu160bj which is faster with greater bomb carrying capacity n distance with smooth brahmos integration
B-1B can fly very low, something Tu-160 or Tu-223 are not capable of.

Every flying machine hv there special purpose eg. Sukhoi su30 escort mirage 2000 when there is an air raid bcs mirage are bombing sepcialist while su30 hv dogfight capability. Another eg. F22 n f35 can do dogfight but are more used for the purpose of surprise stealthy attack meanwhile f16 hv df ability
