I saw them on second stage at Ozzfest in 2000. That year had Godsmack, Pantera, Static-X, Disturbed... Kittie hit stage like a bomb. They laid waste to every band I saw that day. 17, 18 years old and they schooled everyone in the pits.

No. Not better than those bands. Especially Pantera. Yes Phil was wasted a lot then because I was also at the Ozzfest 2000 in Candem NJ. Kittie was really good at the time but to say they were better, I guess it's objective.

Early 2000s, I went to see Kittie. Hit up the bar before they went on, Jennifer sat right next to me, I had no idea she was the new bassist. We chatted for a bit and then she took off. Later when they came on stage, mid-set she pointed at me and gave me the devil sign. I was like, "Holy shit, that's the girl I was just talking to at the bar." She was cool as hell, didn't even say "Oh hey I'm in Kittie" lol. It was awesome.

They hit the stage at the perfect time in metal evolution with the perfect sound. I was in the depths of that scene then in a local metal band myself. 18yo, going to shows in Milwaukee, WI at the Rave, seeing all these bands before they were anything. Back when "Brackish" came out and the whole wave of Kittie was taking off, I was tasked with getting bands to come do a show at the Junior College I was attending at the time. I decided that if we were going to do a show I needed to get actual bands to come and play. Kittie was doing a tour at that time, I think the very first tour with Ozzfest, and I could not find someone to talk to. I called every number I could find. Eventually, and you gotta keep in mind this was like 2000 I think lol, I called the studio they recorded at and had JUST missed them lol. This wouldn't happen now, but the guy at the studio told me that he had their managers number. I got the number and made the call. Turned out to be their dad... I called their house lmao!! He said "Oh yeah, that was Morgan that answered the phone" lol. I was just a 19 year old kid. I was so freaking nervous. I threw out the proposal and he gave me a price. He was SUPER cool about everything. I apologized profusely because usually when someone says "Hey, here is their managers number" they USUALLY mean a freaking office lmao!!
The show fell through unfortunately. I eventually had BB King's management lined up, I had the tour scheduling for Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, I was doing everything I could, but Peavey, the people we were going to get to provide sound, backed out. After that my instructor decided we would sell calendars instead of putting on a concert... I had put in so much freaking work... *sigh* That was the end of it all lol. Oh well, It was a cool experience lol. Once in a lifetime experience lol.

Never saw this documentary and saw you guys post it couple months ago. Start listing to it, realised it was before Trish passed away. Not gonna lie i got a little emotional when i saw her. She was, to me, the best addition to Kittie. I've been listing to that band since i was 7 when they started. Saw a clip on the TV of Brackish and damn i fall in love with this song. And let me tell you in 96 at that young age, living in a small town in Quebec, the only way i could listin to this song was to record it on VHS lol I'm not 35 and to me Spit is still one of the best "Nu-Metal" album of all time.

One of my favorite bands when I was a teenager, I remember my friends parents drove us 3 hours to see them at the house blues. We got there a couple of hours early and spotted Lisa walking around. We asked for a picture and she said no but after the show. The rest of the band was super nice after the show signing autographs and taking pics, we waited in line patiently to ge that picture with Lisa , being the last in line. The crowd left. She looked at us and walked away.

After she passed my older brother to help with my loneliness got me an acoustic guitar so I could play in my room. When I was around 12 he got me my first electric guitar and amp and that opened me up to rock. Think I was a senior in high school when I heard Spit either 99 or 2000 and that was it for me.

Im glad to see you all kept pushing forward with all the struggle, if being a musician was easy, everyone would do it!
You all hit the nail on the head about Napster and the current music industry now! It's heartbreaking to see what happened to it, and how difficult it is to make anything of your band! Now the market is flooded with subpar bands, no label support, and fans being willing to buy albums in person rather than on line are far and few in between!

I met Kittie when Jeff was playing for them live, and Jenn was very new to the line up. Some of the best times of my life, getting to grow up listening to these artists. I do remember when Lisa joined the band, Morgan had to track her down after the show and ask her to meet people. She just kinda seemed like Talena 2.0, just not a people person. I'm not surprised that they're the only former members that aren't featured here. Super glad that the current line up is heading out on tour, EXTREMELY glad I am able to go to one of the few dates. Oh man. I remember being a teen and banging my head to brackish, thinking it had to be one of the heaviest songs ever written! I feel that still stands to this day. I was so lucky to have been able to meet you all in Albuquerque NM for your Until The End tour. Still have the signed CD. I wish I could find the picture that was taken with us fans and you all during the signing. I would love to see you all again.

Reminds me of when I was a teenager in the late 90's - early 00's. Great memories of concerts and just a unique time to be that age.

What I like is how they are not like the usual stories you hear. They didn't really hang out around other artists or grow up competing with other talents. Just feels like friends just having fun.

Great doc. I Loved Kittie. (Always thought Kittie & Veruca Salt were extremely underrated back then). Immense talent. Per this doc, every one of these girls is likeable & incredibly interesting. In 2024, that combo is extinct

Awesome documentary! I've listened to the album Spit over and over throughout the years and absolutely love it! Kittie is by far, my favorite all-female metal band. They are true pioneers and I remember when Spit was released, it rocked the boat for sure. Keep up the great work Kittie!

Not sure how this made its way to me, but glad I watched it. Trish certainly carried a magnetic energy with her. Seeing her/hearing her voice again decades after meeting her sparked a nostalgia for the days we didn't know would be so special.

I crushed so hard on Fallon back in the Spit era. I picked Spit up because: I always had a thing for gothy girls; a thing for girl bands,; Fallon really caught my eye; and the single that was playing on MTV at the time was pretty good. I kind of figured it might be the only decent song on the CD, but I ended up being surprised at just how good the entire album was. I certainly didn't expect a documentary on them to be on YT some 25 years later.

Mercedes has been my celebrity crush since 2000! Pics and videos don't do her beauty justice. Had to pick my jaw up off the parking lot when I met her in person!!!!

When I heard Brackish and PaperDoll in the early 2000s I was blown away. It felt so weird, but so awesome. It opened my eyes to a type of music I never knew existed. Kittie is awesome!

Crazy to think they went from Nu metal to deathcore but made a pretty good transition. I saw the music video for Charolette in 2000 & became a fan recently.

I saw Kittie at least a half dozen times around 2007-2008, I was in college and we're about the same age. They were just a phenomenon, they leaned into being girls with a metal band, but not in a way that was a cheesy schtick. They owned it because being different IS metal, being outcast IS metal, so when they faced that pushback of being "girls in metal" they responded in the most metal way possible, by saying "fuck you" and playing louder. I still have their autograph on a magazine spread and album cover, hanging on my wall.
