Demi you are doing well dont let people tell you you arnt. I do fear however you have gone down bit of a orthorixia route with needing to eat pure and healthy options. You haven't seemed to quite mastered food freedom. Like you would really struggle to go out for a unexpected coffee and cake with friends and family, or take away, or restaurant meal , or join in with treats with what everyone else is having at the work place occasionally etc.
Its not a problem yet but is something youl definitely need to approach at some point but i think you know this.
You have tried to approach it a little recently in one your videos by getting something to eat from Marks and Spencer for dinner instead, thats good. Keep going with that. Keep pushing yourself. Your doing great. X

@@snacktivist tbh orthorexia is mainly just bad if you cutting out fats and eating super low cal always, but she really seems to just be eating a great balanced diet with lots of nutrient rich foods which her body needs to recover. in any case, this is 1000% better than restriction, and i dont think someone NEEDs to eat lots of super processed foods just for the sake of 'recover' , especially if they enjoy their food, dont feel restricted and have enough nourishment. Go Demi!!! super inspiring and honestly makes recovery seem more possible for people who would never attempt it if they though they had to only eat nutella, chips, cakes ect

@@megc313 Honestly... thank you so soooo much for this comment reading this was like a breath of fresh air! Completely agree, its super imporant to have a balance, be healthy and eat wholefoods. In recovery sometimes its about getting back to basics being consistent and not overwhelming yourself with big challenges etc and ofcourse always eating the foods you truly enjoy. ❤

@@megc313 no one "needs" to eat ultra processed foods, but the choice elimination of them indicates a fear that needs to be challenged in recovery.

You're doing amazingly well. Keep pushing those thoughts away and creating new positive ones. The dry salad is bringing back memories, I feel for you. You will be mind blown when you find the confidence to introduce salad dressings and sauce. It'll come, but just keep pushing through because every day you will gain strength. A quote that got me through the tough times was "Every day, in every way, I'm making my life better and better" ❤

Demi I am a long time supporter of yours. I think you are a beautiful person and I am absolutely positive amazing things are going to come for you when you are recovered (and along the way too!). I know you are also trying really hard. AND I think your disclaimers were also a really good sign that even you know that your ED was holding the steering wheel on this day. We could have a whole discussion about whether you can find true recovery and food freedom whilst only eating "clean" (I think that is something you will need to figure out down the road in your recovery... I will say that yes balance is important but you are in RECOVERY and that is the most important thing right now. Food is your medicine and your recovery diet might not be as objectively balanced as you might like at the moment) but even if you wanted to eat "balanced" or "clean" right now, you can be eating a whole lot more for recovery than what you showed in this video. I don't know if you got scared because of the body changes you said you have noticed but it just seemed like you were playing it safe perhaps? Like you could add an extra egg on your toast rather than spreading one egg across both. Or add some rice to your salad to bump up the nutrition more or switch to 5% yoghurt instead of 2%. There are small tweaks you can do to still eat "balanced" but continue to work towards full recovery. Just a few thoughts to ponder. I do wish you well and I don't want to come across as a hater as it is the ED I will always call out if I see it taking control. This is also just my opinion so throw it away if you completely disagree 😂

This is nearly enough for recovery. Sure you can maintain your weight with this much food, but in recovery you have to eat the double at least in order to restore your weight. I know its difficult but you can do hard things!!

@@gracie1x I'm speaking from years of struggle. It's easy to settle into the foods you "like" and never challenge foods you might like, have never tried, or that the eating disorder has convinced you that you don't like (often the case). The more variety of foods we challenge the faster our brains get rewired

I wanna see 10% yogurt! Are you using whole milk in your smoothies? Easy invisible calories! Making small changes to foods that you can't actually see (choosing the higher calorie salad dressing, cheese, etc) is a good technique.
Beets contain nitrates: they actually affect your blood in the same way that certain performance-enhancing drugs do! You're probably associating iron with blood: nitrates affect blood pressure ...
That salad looked incredible. It would be so good with a drizzle of tahini! (follow crazyhealthycool)

💯 all of this! Small ways to add calorie dense foods without your body having to deal with more quantity when it isn't used to it. Two eggs instead of one. Rice with the salad or add some sourdough with avocado. Would love to see her do a video where she adds extra components to make it a recovery meal rather than a maintenance plan at best.
