Good evening everyone! Welcome or welcome back to this week’s meals of the week folks :) I hope you’ve all had a good week! I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while 🥰
Welcome! You're going to love this channel. I don't know why the subscriber numbers aren't up to 500K. I guess people just don't know about it, so share this with friends and family. ❤
Every Saturday I am waiting for the Meals of the week video. It is so comforting to watch beautiful and delicious food plated up properly ❤Also gives me ideas for what to cook because I always struggle with that. As always, thank you for sharing, and have wonderful Saturday evening ❤
Thank you for sharing the appetising meals you make. I have stomach issues meaning there are more things i cannot eat than i can! How i wish i could tuck into your food, like i used to years ago. I never know what to cook. But get some inspiration from you.
Oh, I love haggis! My last visit to Scotland was one of those organized tours. One night,, we had a haggis dinner in Sterling and I actually went from table to table, mooching their serving bowls of spare haggis!
We had a small sandwich with Italian meats and then we fixed a big chef's salad. I put some za'atar seasoning on my bowl of salad. It was really good. We are having some thunderstorms tonight.
yum yum and more yum , haven't had haggis in ages , usually buy M&S and do in the microwave , hope you're all feeling better real soon and don't be missing out in the sun !! 😊
Yay! Corn on the cob! Thanks Cheryl! Here in America we also really like it with different compound butters and toppings. When it's fresh out of the local fields we buy them by the sack out of trucks on the side of the road or little shacks and eat it most nights until it's out of season locally again.
I use to live in NJ ,and all summer long I just ate local corn, and those lovely,Jersey beefsteak tomatoes,I live in NYC now,and they are harder to fine😊
The sausage and mash pie actually looks really pretty to me. All golden and crispy, yum. I'm so giving that a try! And don't be calling your meals 'rotten', You've done really well to come up with some delicious food just as always, while feeling lousy. Sorry you're under the weather. And I always feel so reassured when you have some lovely fresh rolls for dinner. It reminds me I can do ths same and not feel guilty. I've got my own formula for my jackets which is 15 mins in the microwave and 15 in the Ninja foodie and they are heavenly, but hang the expense, I just love a sneaky little box of McCain's microwave chips with ketchup and mayo. It's my guilty little secret pleasure thatI can't give up. They must be the most expensive chips on earth when you count the number in a box (and there are so few, that's easy). So as you enjoy your McCain's jackets why ever not! Great meals again!
Hi Cheryl. Everything looked delicious. Sorry to hear you and Mr. What's for Tea were feeling poorly. I did not know what haggis was, so I had to look it up. Yea--I don't know about that one. It reminded me of the blood sausage my Grandfather used to eat. Yea-I didn't about that one as well LOL. Hope you are all feeling much better. Cheers.
In my book a crustless quiche = frittata! This is my bugbear! Your weekly meal plans are still enjoyable ... plenty of my favourite, quick and simple recipes!
I made your bangers & mash pie for dinner last night. It was soooo good! I get to have the leftovers tonight, it’s in the oven heating up right now as a matter of fact. Looking forward to that! I might just give your chicken curry a crack this week, that looks good too.
I love these videos of yours, tasty simple home cooking, some days you don't feel like much effort, others you want to try something a bit exotic, some staple favourites. I always get some new ideas from you and feel ok about what I put out at home. Cooking day in and day out year after year is quite a feat and to keep doing it with love is what makes a home. 😊
Non-Scottish viewers! Vegan haggis options are also loved in Scotland by vegans, veggies and meat eaters alike. I love vegan haggis, and my mum, who eats meat, prefers vegan haggis over meat haggis. So if you aren’t from Scotland and want to try haggis but are disgusted by what it’s made of, there are other options 😊
I’ve stopped using McCain jackets because they go rock hard if you don’t turn them over during cooking. My aunt said the same and she used to love them. Looking forward to your curry recipe……
Good evening Cheryl, sorry to hear you & your other half have been feeling under the weather this week 🤒🤧, hope you feel better soon.💗 Thanks 🙏 as always for sharing your meals of the week, I’m like you with the Chinese curry, always make my own for a fraction of the cost of buying from the takeaway - just miss having proper prawn crackers on the side. You’ve put me in the mood for haggis, neeps & tatties, might make that one night this week, got potatoes & grants tinned haggis in the pantry, but it’s just not the same without buttery mashed turnip & plenty of black pepper!😋 Take care & look after yourself my friend. Hope you have a better week! xx👩🏻🍳🍲🥗👌💕💞💖
Yum! I'm going to make that curried chicken tonight. Looks delish! I love your videos. Hope you're feeling better soon. Try elderberry syrup. Very good for building the immune system.
Aah hope u feel better soon Cheryl. Nothing wrong with rolls & crisps for tea, even.if your feeling OK!!, I really enjoy cooking / meal planning but the last few days I've found it a bit of an effort/ can't be bothered & when it came to the washing up, I couod scream !! Maybe my cooking mojo will be back in next few days. If not its rolls & crisps for us !! Nice meals Cheryl even tho you weren't feeing your best
I can tell my Scottish ancestry is still in me because I cook like yourself......My kids always want to try the nearest Korean BBQ resturaunt or dumpling resturaunt but I can take all leave those places. .....Iff you had a resturaunt I would eat there.
Hi Cheryl it’s only Louise. I’m so sorry to hear you’re not well - I hope you have a brilliant week. I have left you a message. Sending loads of love and loads of hugs as always.~ Xxx Xxx
🎉Yes. Baked beans please. Its not exciting but I do love them. Hey what’s happened with Jasper. The bug. 😢. Get rest. Drink lots of tea. You will be ok. 👍
Can't believe you were both sick and still mde the effort to cook and to eat salads. I'd just dive into chicken soup, and couldn't be bothered, and salad would be the last thing I'd like
Not for years Ronald! Since I found these 😆 they are just so much better in my opinion...and they don't take long. The long oven baking process has already been done 🙂
Wish they had them here in the US. I know it’s quicker to do in the air fryer but not as quick as the McCain. And making a baked potato in the microwave is just not that great. Never come out good.
@@megfreeth4377no matter what way I’ve tried in the microwave there’s always a hard bit and they’re all wrinkly. I just do them in the air fryer these days when I have time. Maybe I should make a couple of extra ones and try freezing.
Do take care of yourself, Cheryl! I don't know how you manage to keep feeding that man of yours even when you're so crook! Hope you are back to firing on all four cylinders soon!! Still some great ideas in there though!
Mr. What's For Tea is very lucky! ... If I filmed my meals of the week, nobody would be interested! ... In fact, I could call my channel, "Cr*p's For Tea!" 👎🤮🤣! I always poach my chicken and fish, because I can't stand messy greasy cooking methods.

That cauliflower cheese looks so good! Need to do this more. Never tried haggis x

If you're feeling under the weather, maybe some 'Cold & Flu season recipes wouldn't go-astray, i.e. Chicken Soup, Lemon & Ginger tea, etc.?
The haggis is lovely and with a whiskey sauce ❤
