That’s the sleeper train my Japanese husband wants to book and go all the way to Izumo , but……now after we watched your video, maybe we can book two single berth , seems it’s easier than booking a double 😊. Thx for the information 😊
We basically had no chance at the double. It took a few nights of trying to get these reservations! I think the doubles are the first ones booked by Japanese. Have a backup day if this is important to you. It's all part of the experience! 😊
😂😂 We haven't tried Amtrak yet but have not heard great things! We love trains in Japan and Europe though. I really wish the US had better train infrastructure. 😭
Thanks for the Sunrise video. When I retired, I took this night train from Tokyo to the town where my family was waiting for me. It was a memorable trip, different from Shinkansen and airplanes.
I cannot wait to watch the rest of your Japan content! A month in Japan is just a dream. I'll be going back in November for 3 weeks and these videos are so inspiring. Thank you!
That's one premier train per day! I live next to the tracks in Okayama, and sometimes I see it pass by. I understand the feeling of not being able to sleep. It is a precious experience that even Japanese people may or may not experience once in their lives.
Most Japanese trains are completely non-smoking, but the Sunrise Express allows smoking in some private compartments. Although it goes against the global trend of promoting health, being able to smoke while looking at the sea, mountains, and cities of Japan is a wonderful thing, and even I, a non-smoker, appreciate it.
Wonder if you’ve ever heard of the product called No Jet Lag, I used it last month on a 12 day trip to Tokyo, Okinawa and Osaka! This product is used and highly recommended by pilots and others who travel. It helped me transition especially coming home to Hawaii. Just subscribed and I love your channel!
Ah~, you’re back in JPN to Travel Deeper (by Tales From Our “Deep” Pocket!!) I’m sure you’ll travel deep and wide to your heart's content. (2:45) Oh, that’s CSI < *Climb Scene Investigation🧐
Sunrise express comes with an interesting shower facility. You got to buy the shower ticket from the ticketing machine. It will be sold off minutes after the boarding of passengers. The shower booth comes with auto cleaning after the last person usage and it lasts about 5 minutes abielt a stop time for soaping up.
The Sunrise Express is the last "regular" sleeper train in Japan. There are other sleeper trains in Japan, but they are all "cruise trains" and are outrageously expensive.
In the past there were many sleeper trains running in Japan. However, as the demands decreased and the Shinkansen network expanded, Sunrise is the only regular service night train in Japan now. If more tourists, particularly from abroad, have more and more interests and rides in the sleeper train, the night train service may be revived, which many in Japan also wish.

Aww, I miss train travel!
Ha, overseas train travel!! Have only tried Amtrak once, for just a few hours. Hopefully, never again 😂

That scenery on your morning train ride to Hiroshima is a sight to behold❤
6:00 乗車したら最初にシャワー券を購入することをお勧めします。
すぐに売り切れてしまいます。
8:01 乗車を継続するのであれば、車内から切り離し作業を見るのも面白いですよ。

3 weeks is a great amount of time! Where do you plan to go??
@@TalesFromOurPocket I'll be flying to Fukuoka and from there we will go to many different places like Beppu, hiroshima, kyoto, Nagasaki and Tokyo
Well comeback to Japan ! 🤗
Please enjoy your second visit to Japan a lot. 🙏
There may not have been an enthusiastic welcome at the airport. 😂
No ninja this time! 😂😂😂

Thank you for reply. 🙇
There may not have been any ninjas at the airport, but many Japanese will welcome you. 🤗

Can You understand the various Japaneseque aesthetics❓
