This review was awesome. Great editing, choice of music, camera work, layout and info.
+Exotik Thanks dude. I'm proud of it.
+Mark Burstiner You should be :)
+Exotik Well, the music... let's not be too generous here...
Ian Hoswell I actually liked the music in particular, i dont see the problem. At times it was a bit too loud, but the music choice was fine.
Exotik I'm joking man. it's all good, whatever you enjoy.
What a coincidence, Android Authority, Technobufflo and Pocketnow uploded their Nextbit Robin reviews at the same time.
And Dave2D
i guess every one did, even the verge
Android Authority
TechnoBuffalo
Pocketnow
CNET
The Verge...
that is strange and i think that they were paid to do it.
and Dave lee
forgot to say CNET as well
Waiting for the Batman version.
I see what you did there
ahhh
+Deividas Skeberis did you?
Faktzi yes^^
Lol
Beautifully made video! Loving this new style of reviews
+gizmoddict aw man thanks so much
i agree, it was a pleasure watching!
Hey Mark, I have to be honest, when you first showed up at technobuffalo I was not sure if you were up to the job, but now I know you were the right choice. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man!! - MB
Thanks man!! - MB
+TechnoBuffalo I've always had faith in mark *cough cough* hire me now... :)
+Radoslav Nikolic Am I the only one who thought mark was amazing since the beginning?
Background music choice is horrible
+Omar I think it's DOOOOOOPE
Mark Burstiner I could barley hear you talking with the person singing in the background, cross talking
+Omar you're talking to the actual Mark that's in the video lol
+Jaime Lopez lmaooooo 😂😂😂
Jaime Lopez and ?
I'm seriously loving the new way you guys are doing reviews! More refined and separated from the rest.
this be near perfect for my mom she's a mini horder with the pictures and videos she be saving so a good camera on a phone is what she been wanting since what I been able to do with my ex-lumia 920. Best camera phone I ever had.
They had to start somewhere and the feed back they will get will help them with the next version of Robin , I'm getting this phone and I'm sure I wont be disappointed .
+RUwatching That's exactly how I feel about it.
hey dude can you tell me how it function and specially can you brief me abou its screen its coming to india nxt week and im thinking of checking it out
Iv'e use the phone for three months, and here is what I have to say:
the screen is sharp, colors are nice, but its very reflective. In comparison to a samsung gs7, its more washed out and blacks aren't as dark, is able to compete surprisingly well in my opinion, even if it's clearly the worse of the two.
I really like my Robin. I have to be honest, it was sitting in the drawer at first, but the experience improved so massive from update to update, I started to use it as a daily driver again.
Love how mark does his reviews. Even the way this video was produced and edited from the location, camera shots and music. Lovin your energy and enthusiasm, mark!
Thank you so much! - MB
Out of all the Nextbit Robin reviews, I liked technobuffalo's the most :)
+Techricity aw man thanks dude
+Techricity Us too!
+TechnoBuffalo nope. Dave Lee did better than this
Loving the TechnoBuffalo video style, the walking- the moving shots- it's all amazing!!
Never has any review have made me want a phone as much as this review! awesome work!
Since you guys went to this style of videos, I've been enjoying all your videos Great job Technobuffalo!
This is like my favorite edited/shot video ever. Great host too! I watch this weekly to inspire me. hehe.
Fantastic review! Amazing to see how far TB has come!
+Peder H. Sverdrup Thanks duder!
Since Mark has joined, Technobuffalo has stepped up their game.
I totally agree with you review. really looking forward to see what the next step the company will take. Also on another note I'm really impressed with the production value of the videos that TechnoBuffalo has taken. keep up the good work. you are definitely the most improved on UA-cam.
Thanks for the review McLovin!
Love this dudes reviews, could careless about the phone, but Mark makes these reviews alot of fun to watch :D Great production quality as usual!
Like your videos buddy! The Robin as a bit of a retro design going on
+Carl Price Thanks!
I'm out of the loop. Why don't I ever see John anymore?
He was in the last 2 videos
Great review! I've been waiting for this phone for a while. Pre ordered today. Bold and beautiful. Software update should fix the camera too
pointed out mistakes in all segments yet, he is so very exciting about the device
I'm definitely intrigued by this phone. Great video, great review.
+TechnoBuffalo I was really excited to get my pre-order I just think the device is brilliant. I could care less about the storage, I've never used more than half of previous 32GB phones, however the constant display quality issues have me concerned and second guessing myself.
The camera can at least be improved through updates, but the screen quality...might re-think and wait until the Galaxy is announced.
Best video you guys have ever made. Top notch from top to bottom.
+Landon Lee Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the rectangular design and matte finish. It's plastic, but I like a light phone.
love the way this video was done
Great review, love the enthusiasm!
Thanks for the review
Awesome content and video composition. Keep up the good work!
love the case design. it's like a smartphone if it was designed by the 50's.
Love the new editing style.
Future? Running Android? NO
go48videos fanboy of what? idiot.
+HermosaBeachJoe
The fact that you say it isn't the future
*just because* it runs Android makes you a contender for being a fanboy of a competing OS...
Plus the fact that you called him an idiot when he said that even though he wasn't even provoking you at all, idiot.
Lame
+Timothy Lim Well, to be fair he called him a fanboy. But Google needs to switch to a more optimized OS and not stick with the complicated virtual machine they have now.
+HermosaBeachJoe Okay then how about you tell us what IS the future...
Epic review! Mark burstiner, you are the new king of tech reviews! And trust me I follow them all!
Lol I don't know that I'd go that far, but thank you!! - MB
Thumbs up for his matching shirt :D
I dont think storage is a big deal.Plus it looks hideous and cheap like a china phone
Aj *gasps* apple is a china phone?Open the box and there is written designed by apple in california. It is assembled in china. And i said cheap china phone apple doesnt look cheap from any angle
+Sal Katari i think it looks dope and i can tell you first hand it does not feel cheap
Mark Burstiner Colours are terrible.Looks more of a kids phone with terrible camera lag and average performance.
Clearly you have not touches nexus 6p, made and designed by Chinese people
Bo Dong There is a diffrence between chinese phone and cheap chinese phone.I clearly said cheap chinese phone
Loving the editing and music. Oh yeah and the review's nice too! :)
I've just watched this as my 4rt review. And it is the best.
+Edgar Valverde Thanks dude :)
The shots for this video are freakin insane, let me just say that.
Thanks Tim.
Honestly, I think the Rockin Robin remix is what's making this phone look so cool to me.
4:30 I spy a Destiny player with quite a nice set of guns there. And someone who was actually willing to go through the Touch of Malice questline. Also crazy jealous over that Mida.
love the colors
I kinda like the ability to store things on the cloud. As a user of Google Drive I find myself using it a ton. The fact that you get 100 GB standard with Nextbit Robin is cool. what would make it real nice is if you're able to upload music or videos on Nextbit cloud storage and are able to access it like Drive. But that is really their 1st phone I'm sure they will only get better.
Awesome video!
yesterday I checked my subscription box and saw what had to be like 10 reviews on the next bit Robin and I thought to myself "I guess everyone decided to upload there review at the exact same time?!" :) I'm dead
Need to admit, it's Mark's review that made me fall in love with TechnoBuffalo. Very cool! Sadly they changed the style after Mark left. I want this style! Jon!
Wow all the Tech UA-cam upload a review on this phone
Pocketnow, Android Authority and The Verge uploaded their reviews of this phone. Illuminati confirmed?
+Varun Sarathy no, it just means that Nextbit put an embargo on the reviews so they cannot publish them until a certain date. I guess the embargo is lifted and they just wasted no time to publish the review
+Aj Its a review embargo moron.
***** Oh, thanks for telling me that. ☺
I like the design of the phone and the Idea behind it. I hope that build a spec'd out phone myself. I don't think storage is a problem on phones these days as much as data. Since companies want to limit data but offer all of these streaming services, people with limited data plans are getting screwed over. But anywho, great phone and great idea NextBit.
wow, a really honest review
Enjoy watching your channel i look for new uploads everyday from you guys! I have a question specifically for Mark. You have done some videos about apps in the past. Do you have any recommendations for good apps out in the Google play store that are good for selling maybe mint condition smartphones. I have some old smartphones that i am wanting to get rid of but they are in really good condition to just give away. I always watch your channel for advice on technology. So i thought i would come to you guys and ask. You all are an awesome team always looking forward to see whats new on your channel!
Always great reviews Mark... but I was getting my life to the background music + the Beyoncé flash! 😂😂😂
Very good review mark!
Great video
U guys should start doing reviews of the least known devices because out there there's a huge gama of mid and low devices with great specs that could be a great option for people in budgets.
I say it because here we only see the reviews of high end phones from the main brands and sometimes these same brands make cheaper versions of their high end phone with great expectations but less popular
Amazing review.. After so many years an awesome review by techno buffalo... After phone dogs reviewer who came to techno buffalo left...
I love everything the Robin stands for. Can't wait to get my hands on one!! Better then the 5X, WHA??!!! Congrats @Nextbitsys You did it!! Rocking the tech world with flying colors!!!
cheap screen, shit battery, shit camera, cloud storage, running android marshmallow, what the fuck is new here?
+Evens Lamarre Damn, son, you angry.
+Mark Burstiner but like, hes right tho... its a below average phone especially for the price... why not just go with the nexus 5x? or shell out $100 more (was $50 more with the sale) and get an amazing phone
a) it outperforms the 5X. b) in the video i mention part of the point is to support the notion of a new contender in the industry and spur innovation.
Mark Burstiner I suppose, but for people that just simply want a phone, its not the way to go. At least in my opinion. And the 5x doesn't really have any performance issues other than the kinda slow ram so the difference isn't that great. right? I dunno im not an expert ;P thanks for your opinion though.
yea the screen is terrible. sure...I want my screen to look all green and undersaturated
Something about a phone with straight lines is like a classic car.
Excellent review!
My only question is security with the Robin. With the 100 GB being stored online, is a greater chance for someone to get personal data from that online stored memory.
Looks interesting. Don't really care about colors but cloud storage is pretty cool. why do people write this phone off? I mean sure camera is lackluster, but most people don't care about quality of picture. I think this is a future phone to consider, since many phones are abandoning the SD card slots. It could work.
Hey great review as always! But what was with the background music? Especially the first like minute or two with Rockin' Robin while you were speaking. It made it hard to actually focus on what you're saying.
Batman version will probably be amazing!
Love the concept of the phone itself!! Can't wait for the second generation.
PD: love your videos
no reason to even consider using it as a daily driver. it just seems lacking in every way behind some of the newer phones. I may be a little biased because I just bought a Nexus 6p. fantastic phone btw
Nice review Mark, also what are the names of the 2 games played in the video
Nice refreshing review!! And what justifies the $400 price tag? The cloud option? Specs wise seems somewhat steep for what you can get now and days
Sounds awesome looks cheap
"And not fall flat.. ON ITS FACE" me: bursts out laughing xDD
All i have to is that I pretty much hate everything on the design side of the phone, but i guess the phone itself isn't too bad.
More than the storage , the major thing which concerns me in today's smartphone is the battery life. I wish they could have done something with that instead of storage.
So it does look a bit cheap, but!! in hand, IN REAL LIFE! does it look cheap and feel cheap?. from this side of things it's hard to really judge without it really being in hand? and I'm all about Different and Unique without being too silly when it comes to Artistically Designing any Device. to me it looks very interesting. Peace
+myproject13 No. Not at all. I'm not joking when I say this is my favorite phone I've reviewed so far. It feels amazing. No flex at all. It feels great to use a good phone that supports a great concept.
Mark Burstiner Thanks Mark appreciate your quick response, my mind is open like that to new and innovative ideas and from where I'm at in my mind with today's Devices, especially in DesignI/Hardware! I literally see that in that specific Device, Great review as Always!! One day as my channel grows I'd love to hook up with you guys over there, ( I do have a Dream) it's my goal. Peace
the best way to solve the problem of limited storage in our pockets is 256gb sd cards. i love the phone itself but i use my phone as a computer and record a lot of video, and i cant get over the data usage
From the very first, Techno Buffalo has talked a lot about this phone a lot. How its growing in kickstarter, also when it came to CES this year. What i really feel is..... They are over exaggerating about the feel of the phone. No doubt, the use of cloud storage is new and convincing, but for the rest of the features about the phone, Its a hype from these guys.
I enjoyed this video 100% one of the best video you guys made
Why is there the weird pixelation on the speakers in some shots?
Overall I still don't really see why I should be impressed, but I absolutely love the design. I find the monolith from 2001 to be the height of technology design an am constantly disappointed by the lack of hard edges and sharp corners on pretty much all of the modern phones.
I get that the cloud storage is the big selling point of this phone but it is really better than, say, a 32gb Moto X with a micro SD card?
Nice to a startup entry into the market. Hope this will spur more innovation
+Sebastian Sjöberg (ExplorersClub) That's exactly how I feel.
Mark Burstiner crowd funding and the Shenzeng eco system lowers the barrier for entry, and clearly there is consumer desire for renewal. Nextbit proves it, One Plus confirms it. Yet, what I believe will change everything would be true modularity in a smart phone. A startup should do that
Sebastian Sjöberg hoping to see it soon with Project Ara
+Mark Burstiner if only. Have you heard any life signs from Ara? Seems silent as the grave, sadly
Great review as always!!!!!
I don't think the software features do enough to differentiate the phone and they look a bit complicated and unnatural too in the video. Besides the weird looking design, squared out edges? Wouldn't that become irritating over longer usage times? Not a spectacular battery life, average display, love it or hate it design - this one's for the geeks through and through. It is extremely likely that this phone will fail to hit mass market momentum which would be a shame considering the amount of thought that seems to have gone into making this phone.
Hey Mark, nice review as always from you guys. You didn't however mention how the finger print scanner worked. How was the experience?
your a great reviewer, fluent and just know what your talking about
You guys need to do a freedom 251 review
1.5 hours screen on time over a day of use is ABOVE average? Would hate to hear what you think below average is...
+Sam Uden The screen on camera isn't representative of my experience. It's more of a visual aid.
So what if the screen isn't incredible. I don't watch videos on my phone anyway. That unlocked bootloader is a huge selling point for me though. Custom ROM's solve a lot of those problems.
How about that finger print though??
It's tempting especially amazon offers it for 300
32GB is a bare minimum for storage these days - especially with HD video and photo as well as ever bigger apps, it will be filled up FAST.
Could not find the name of the first song
I think it is a very good phone for the price. The screen does turn me away coming from a nexus 6 and I think that the mint color is a bit to feminine for me so some color choices would be great. Also you didn't talk about the fingerprint scanner. Is it any good?
I LOVE this phone. it looks so nice.
+Tyler Eberhardt It does have a very interesting and likeable design
Nexus 5x vs Nextbit Robin? and Pixel C vs Ipad Air 2?
why not put a lumia1020 camera there nextbit??
great review
what about the fingerprint sensor?
The cloud storage doesn't seem to be a "killer app". If companies just stuck to Micro SDs things like storing your 1TB of selfies onto your phone shouldn't be a problem.
0:20 i thought he was gonna disappear behind that tree lol
It comes in black!
