  • There are so many things you learn as you age - I believe they call that wisdom.
    1) You learn not to fall into the trap where you feel you have to keep up with the Joneses. That is nothing but a rat race. Chasing after things
    2) You learn to be content with the simple things in life.
    3) You learn to live a grateful life where you appreciate all that you have been blessed with.
    4) You learn that life is just a vapor. You can’t believe you are retirement age and how fast you got there.
    5) You learn that less is more; less possessions, less stress, less yard work, less upkeep, etc.
We believe a simple retired life is the best.

Content state of mind is so true. I can't imagine living off the grid but if others are happy doing that, good for them. We have to be happy with the direction our lives take us. Life is too short to not be happy with our life choices.

Great video. I couldn't agree more. Our outlook, feelings and thoughts on things change as we get older. Tends to make life a lot more enjoyable and content. Steve

🤣🤣Aches and pains come with age too, Terri and Keith! But, I guess you said good things. Time really does pass quickly and the best advice you mention is to be content! Everything else falls into place. Happy Fathers Day, Keith!

Many young people would be wise to take this advice, especially with social media (wrongly) influencing how their life should be.

Social media has definitely influenced young people and most in the wrong direction. We appreciate you watching 😊

. I was asked would I rather work and live a life of luxury or retire and live a simple life. I think the look on my face answered the question lol. As you get older the things you worked so hard to get when you were younger you get rid of and downsized from the big house to a cozy little house. We like being retired more than things

Luckily I've never had a wallet which allowed me to keep up with the Joneses. A lesson my parents lived out as example. As a family we never went anywhere longer than a day- a day at the beach, at a park. I'm blessed to have learnt the gift of gratitude very young. You are right, there are those who will never be happy with their lot. I guess a lot has to do with upbringing and life values. My hands look like those of my mum. Oh I was very startled when I saw that.Watching a home programme the other day I just had a silent giggle at this couple who wanted 'more storage space' to put their 'things'. I'm just glad we downsized and decluttered a few years ago. Have a wonderful week. Good topic. 👌🇳🇱🙋‍♀🥝

Oddly I’ve never aspired to keep up with the Jones’s.
