What’s your packing tip you want to share?

I do a packing list too. It just helps me remember everything I need for myself and my kids. I try to pack light every year but I find that because we are driving, we tend to find that an excuse to pack everything. Over the years, I've gotten better with it. Thank you so much for sharing your tips!

We tend to pack more when we drive as well. We always pack snacks 😀

The running list on the counter is a good idea.💡 I liked keeping some bags ready to go.

We ALWAYS overpack for vacations! It's something we hope to get better at some day.

    Hey 👋 Keith & Terri!
Great tips! Like you Keith, I can pack in minutes- for me, leaving that “tank top” behind is always a good idea 😂
Grabbing those device chargers and wires, setting the indoor security lights timers is my job. We travel early mornings to see the grandkids, so coffee ☕️ and a breakfast snack is good to take. Have a great day and 4th of July. Here’s tip: If you’re flying, it’s best to leave the fireworks, m-80s, cherry bombs, and sparklers at home.🇺🇸💥🇺🇸💥🇺🇸🧨🥁🍻

We traveled across Canada with our truck and teardrop camper in May/June. We traveled pretty light. I realized that being further up north than Southern Ontario, I didn't really need 3 pairs of shorts that time of year. I could have used an extra pair of long pants, lol!! We decided that we either needed to use our teardrop camper or sell it. We enjoyed it so much, we're planning our next trip to the Maritime provinces. We went to Alberta where our daughter lives the first time. My husband has been retired since 2017 and I've just retired. So far we're still in fairly good shape, so we want to get in some traveling over the next couple of years.

I use a kitchen garbage bag for dirty clothes. It fits great in my suitcase on our return. After we get home it goes to laundry room.

My husband has lists. He is very particular about the contents when he goes away. He has a list for his walking holidays, a list for his flight holidays and a list for general holidays. Ticks things of fas he goes. I pack as I go. I don't have a list on paper but in my head. Always two days extra smalls ( socks - underwear) thinner slacks and a warm pair. The weather can be so fickle. The toilet bag is also what I do. Saves gathering and leaving something behind. I also have a bag like that for all the techno stuff for the phone, Gopro and Macbook. Nothing worse than not have a cable or plug for re-charging. We take a three oint power block as power points aren't always in good supply in the accommodation one stays at. Lots of good ideas. Happy travels. 👌🇳🇱🙋‍♀🥝

Sounds like your husband is a lot like me with the lists 😅 everyone seems to have their own method that works for them. Have a wonderful day and thanks for watching 😊

Always end up overpacking! I am determined that on my next air travel trip to only have a carry-on...and it may actually be a cruise. We'll see how that goes! lol

We've learned over the years less is enough, Terri and Keith. My mother on the other hand? 🤣🤣She had suitcases last winter that never even came out of the car! Making a list of what's really important is essential. There are laundromats out there and we tend to stay in AirBnb's every so often and I always look for a washer and dryer. As we leave I think to myself do I have our meds, passports, money and plastic. If so, I feel we can master anything else we need. As you said there's almost always Walmarts out there. Except where we're at now in northern Canada. Nothing out here but fish, bear and moose! PS - We left the shorts at home. 😁😁

About two weeks before my trip I put my suitcase on my luggage rack and begin putting things in. I also have a standard packing list and then additional lists for beach, hiking, mountain etc trips. I hardly ever leave anything or need anything.
