Big fan of XMG.... Still using a gaming laptop and this small case series. Lol that was a 1080GTX and it served me so well. No idea what a 4070 or 4090 is going to do. Does anyone have an idea whats best if I want to hook the Laptop up to a big Gaming Monitor?
I want to go big, but im stuck between two laptops. I am definitely going 4080 or 4090, I am stuck between getting the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 4090 for $2900 and the 2024 Rog Strix Scar 16 they just dropped for $2900 as well. I like the features on the Scar more however the only thing holding me back is the overwhelming amounts of their laptops getting coil whine. I couldnt game knowing my components are rattling like that, itd just ruin the experience of it altogether. Just was unsure if the new models limited the coil whine or if its the same as last year
Did you get the Omen Transcend 14 in for test yet? I got one last week. All around excellent laptop, but I’m not able to get anywhere near 80w out of the 4070. It maxes out at 50w plus a 15w boost that is very flaky. Mostly it’s locked at 50w. Have you seen the same? Also, the VRR doesn’t work well-no Gsync and there’s very noticeable screen tearing.. which is a bummer bc the otherwise the laptop is quite nice.

Hi, I have a really important question, so if you can answer (or any people who will read this question) it would help me a lot!!! I want to buy a new laptop gaming, I am really hesitating for monthes between a 17,3 (16/9) or a 18 (16/10) inch. for me there are 2 possibilties when we play video games on these 2 ratio: The first one is, the 18" screen is exactly the same that the 17,3" but "less wide" (we can see exactly the same sight, but less wide) so I would prefere the 16/9 ratio, because we can see "more" stuffs on the left and the right part of the screen. The second one is, The 18" screen is the same that the 17,3 inch, as wide as the 17,3 but we can see more stuff on the top and bottom part of the screen. if its this possibility, then I would prefere the 18" screen. Can you please help me? if it's the first or the second possibility when you test the game on the 16/9 and 16/10 ratio screen?
I hope they'll be some sort of refresh for the X16 Flow, or even a flow x18. I'm not even certain I'll be working in the same place in 7-odd months time, so something that is of a jack-of-all-trades in gaming, creativity and reading/writing documents, while having a decent enough battery life is probably better right now than a dedicated gaming rig. (In the region I'm in, the Flow X16 maxes out at the 4060 model)
Is 120Hz of the new Titan a better compromise than the new G16's sautered memory? I feel like if it had 240Hz it would be a near-perfect, or at least defnitive top level device
what is better? asus zephyrus g16 with rtx 4070 or 4080? because the 4080 only getting 115 tdp, is nthis enough or is it just bad money spending because at 150 tdp it would perform better. or maybe it gets to hot etc?
I went with the new g18 Strix. I really wanted mini led or oled but those models (like the msi titan) are double the price. Can get a desk, oled monitor, mouse and keyboard for the additional money spent
I am currently in China and looking for a gaming laptop to buy. I can find the Legion 5 Ryzen 7 7840H with RTX 4060 with my current budget. but at the same time, I have also found an Asus TX laptop with i7 13 gen and rtx 4060 but with a much better monitor. but I can't find any review for the Asus TX laptop. As far as I know, it is the same Tuf series but rebranded in China.

I'll tell you about my experience: I've been playing/working on gaming laptops for almost 10 years. I have had PC Specialist, Asus Rog, Lenovo Legion and Alienware for 4 months. They are all high-performance laptops but I have never found continuity in performance with games. always problems with stuttering, frame drop etc. I'm lucky to be very experienced in knowing where to put my hands on both hardware and software, but I can say that when we say desktop replacement, it's half a lie...
I’ll probably need to downsize to a gaming laptop later this year when I move. Guess I’ll wait and see what prices look like then. Really wish the 4070 models had more vram. Guess I’ll have to stick with the 4080.

You are very thorough in your videos and go through everything within the product and carry out very time consuming tests to show us the performance of the product you’re reviewing with cracking a few jokes here and there and that’s what I love about you and this channel one of the best if not the best laptop reviewers out there keep up the amazing work! P.S can’t wait for the Asus Rog Strix Scar laptop reviews and the Acer Predator Helios reviews as well.
Man, they really murdered the Predator logo for 6 lines. 🎉
Buying my first gaming laptop but can’t decide. Should I wait for a the new AMD? I do like the MSI Titan but been researching and notice people have experience with MSI brand and issue with intel overheating. Can’t decide what to get 😢
Really interesting and very structurized video, thanks!!
I’m glad I bought rtx 40 series laptop last year since nvidia is not updating laptop gpu this year I’m in love with my strix g16
Which laptop would you suggest for me? I enjoy playing first-person shooter games like Overwatch and role-playing games like Uncharted and God of War, but I'm not sure which laptop is best for gaming. I currently have a Razer Blade 15 3060 Rtx, but I want to upgrade. I'm not computer savvy, so could you suggest a solid, reasonable gaming laptop?
I bought a Legion 5 Pro 2021 in 2022 and it's soldering on just fine, I'll have to clean it though because it finally started thermal throttling
MSI’s design in 2023 was soo bad, they literally redesigned every laptop in 2024 😂
Im just looking for a laptop to play single player games and some old classics, not for multiplayer games or anything like that. Any recommendations on something that will have smooth gameplay and smooth graphics ?
Only thing I'd like to get ahold of is that new 400w charger from MSI for my GT77hx 13vi. On discrete mode it constantly triggers the 330w chargers switch. I have just been using my GT76 Titan DT SGS charger to get over the 400w threshold and no more power trips.
I can get 2023 scar 18 for about £2800 or wait for 2024 version with mini led screen but not sure if it`s worth it to pay much more for new screen, dont care much about 14th gen processor
Which ones are looking the best? The Asus Zeyphyrus G Series?
Trying to decide between the scar 16 and scar 18. Any thoughts?
Hello, I'm from Poland, so sorry for my English. I've been watching you for some time and I learned a little about laptops thanks to you. I just bought a Lenovo Legion pro 5i CES 2024 with i9 14900HX, GTX 4070 and I would like to replace the RAM with a faster one, but I have little knowledge on this topic. Could you help me and write to what size this memory can be expanded and what would be the best. Thank you and best regards.
tell me in a nerd way, im currently using a 3 year old 1650 Ti Lenovo.. which one is better now
today I got omen 16:) 6800h, rtx 3070ti (150w), 1tb, 16gb ram and 2k 165hz. just 950$ does it worth?
As someone who isn't abreast of the latest laptop specs what is the main reason for awaiting thunderbolt 5. Is it mainly faster charging time?
Why cant we have vents at the top so i can lay the laptop on a bed and it wont block the vents?
Whats the best gaming laptop in 15.6 inch also upgradadble ram and ssd? Please answer, thank you need to buy one
I’ve seen so many of these gaming laptops have black screen of death. I need a gaming laptop because I’ll be traveling internationally and I can’t risk my laptop dying after a month. What do you recommend I go with plz? It seems like nowadays all of them have these black screen death issues
Hi, I have a really important question, so if you can answer (or any people who will read this question) it would help me a lot!!!
I want to buy a new laptop gaming, I am really hesitating for monthes between a 17,3 (16/9) or a 18 (16/10) inch.
for me there are 2 possibilties when we play video games on these 2 ratio:
The first one is, the 18" screen is exactly the same that the 17,3" but "less wide" (we can see exactly the same sight, but less wide) so I would prefere the 16/9 ratio, because we can see "more" stuffs on the left and the right part of the screen.
The second one is, The 18" screen is the same that the 17,3 inch, as wide as the 17,3 but we can see more stuff on the top and bottom part of the screen. if its this possibility, then I would prefere the 18" screen.
Can you please help me? if it's the first or the second possibility when you test the game on the 16/9 and 16/10 ratio screen?
lovin the new Predator logo
do the asus g14 and g16 2024 models have flat screens lie the one of the galaxy book3 ultra or do they have an edge?
I hope they'll be some sort of refresh for the X16 Flow, or even a flow x18. I'm not even certain I'll be working in the same place in 7-odd months time, so something that is of a jack-of-all-trades in gaming, creativity and reading/writing documents, while having a decent enough battery life is probably better right now than a dedicated gaming rig.
(In the region I'm in, the Flow X16 maxes out at the 4060 model)
is the ASUS ROG STRIX g15 still worth it if I'm not triple a gaming and its my first gaming laptop?
I still wish Gigabyte would go back on their last refresh of the Aero. The new ones aren't as appealing, especially with limited I/O (USB-C)
Does it need cooling pad while intensive gaming?
question, the last 18 inch laptop i knew about was an alienware many years ago, does every company make them now? are they common these days?>
Is 120Hz of the new Titan a better compromise than the new G16's sautered memory? I feel like if it had 240Hz it would be a near-perfect, or at least defnitive top level device
Don't think there's 4K 240Hz mini LED yet, so that's what they settled with
what is better? asus zephyrus g16 with rtx 4070 or 4080? because the 4080 only getting 115 tdp, is nthis enough or is it just bad money spending because at 150 tdp it would perform better. or maybe it gets to hot etc?
Legion >Any laptop
Hey which one you like the most in mid range
I can't wait for you to get your hands on the HP Omen 14 even a versus between the Asus G14 for overall performance, Thermals and Fan Noise.
The most awaited video but do you think I should wait for proper core ultra gaming laptops or should I buy the 14 or 13th gen chips?
Which one should i buy 1000-1500 budget
Excited for the new LOQ review. The keyboard chassis looked neat lol.
Can you suggest best budget laptops for Machine Learning and AI?
Is m18 2024 13980HX with 4090 Nvidia 32gb ram 1tb ssd is good? I hope you review it . I keep updated on your reviews of laptop that's why i bought the budget gaming laptop the tuf f15 . Now i want to upgrade 😅.
I'm lucky to be very experienced in knowing where to put my hands on both hardware and software, but I can say that when we say desktop replacement, it's half a lie...
just get a cooling pad, that always works for me lol, or i vertically mount my laptop when its attached to my monitor
@@dooli brother it's already like this
Is acer predator helios neo 16 with intel i7 and rtx 4060 still a great choice in 2024?
I am also asking the same question
Yes
I’ll probably need to downsize to a gaming laptop later this year when I move. Guess I’ll wait and see what prices look like then. Really wish the 4070 models had more vram. Guess I’ll have to stick with the 4080.
Hi Jarrod, as my number 1 place for gaming laptop news, what are thoughts on Laptop coolers?
Are you going to review the nitro 16/17 like you said in the nitro 5 video a while back?
Hello Jarrod. I am able to get a Razer blade advanced 15,6 (2022) qhd, 240hz, i7-12th gen 3070ti for 2k usd or MSI raider ge67 raider for like 1800. Both have discount; but maybe it is not worth it as it is 2022?
I am kinda interested in the new cyborg 14inch. I play fortnite mostly. I would like a sleek laptop with good power, but I am aware of the battery issue with razer and maybe it is a bit too Sharp, if I rest my hands there for long
Will the AI FPS Boost from Lenovo come to the 2023 laptops as well?
Should i buy the lenovo legion 7i with intel i9 12th gen and rtx 3080 ti or lenovo legion slim 5 rtx 4060 and ryzen 7 7840hs pleaseee reply anyone the 3080 ti is coming in second hand $250 cheaper than the 4060 i want to know how the thermals and the futureproofing the rtx 3080 ti laptop will have and also the battery life pleaseee replyy soon
3080 ti dusts the 4060 in performance. If your stuck between 3080 ti and 4060 go 3080 ti. 4060 would only have the AI frame generation benefit but even that wouldnt compare to the 3080 Ti with DLSS itself.
predator 18, maxed out is a beautiful monster! totally recommend!
didn't see options with 7800x3d, why do they continue with 7845hx i dont know, until they offer an option with that processor or the same variant but on zen5 im not going buy a laptop!
Fantastic video as always. Do you have any idea when the transcend 14 will be reviewed? I'm am very interested in it, along with the zephryus.
Hoping to get it in February.
@@JarrodsTech Awesome so looking forward to it
Lenovo LOQ i5-13420H rtx 2050
Is this laptop better for the price of USD 760 ?
The VAT here is 18% 😕
Hey Jarrod - love the look of the Asus G16. I'd love to see a benchmark of the 90-115 tgp 4080 model against some of the more performance based 4080's on the market if you get one in :)
So no laptops using the HX3D why not? Just because the 14900 is newer? HX3D still better for gaming no?
I think that the new MSI 18 inch is probably the biggest update compared to the older GT77.
Hopefully we will see more Oled options later in the year.
could you please test G16 video edting smoothness and color accuracy for video color grading, and doing these while unpluging , besides running some Ai tools like stable diffusion, i'm curious weather this laptop can turly replace macbook pro in terms of content creation. about Oled panel , im worried about panel burn, maybe miniled is a better option?
I want to move to iGPU laptop for indie game on travel and deaktop for AAA games.
Hoping cheap 90hz+ screen with ryzen 5 with zen 4 or intel ultra 600-700$ range + and budget GPU for PC.
Can you tell me something about msi alpha with 7945/4070 version? There is nothing about this laptop
You are so professional and an excellent popularizer. Thank you for your videos. 🤗
Lenovo has the most beautiful design plus price, quality, no competition
Well wanted to know more about the new legion pro 7i an difference but good enough
Hello, are the brand gaming laptop 2024 have a lot of aspect ratio scren 16:9 ?
Can you please review the Asus ROG Flow X13 2023 especially the 4060🙏🙏.
I really want to buy that laptop but i haven't seen your review 😕
I just got my acer predator helios neo 16 rtx 4060 version ... Enjoying it .. your reviews helped me a lot. Thankyouu
Hey, I was about to buy that. But that released last year. Should I wait for the newer version or buy the last year model
@@jowelnath5 wait for the new model to release
@@jaiaswath6138 Don't you think that’s gonna be expensive?
I want to buy a gaming laptop, but I can't make a choice of which one to buy. I have an option to buy acer nitro 5, ryzen 7 6800h, rtx 3070 ti (150w), 16gb 2.5k display 1tb nvme and lenovo legion slim 5 i5 12500h,rtx 4060 (115w), 16 gb, 512gb nvme. What is better to take (you can write your own options) up to 6000 pln
Nitro 5 because of better specs
Any release timeframe for the zephyrus g16 review? Can’t wait for it
What are you opinions on the new PC specialist recoil 17 with the i9 14900hx + 4090??
please make a review on apples m3 macbook pro 14 with 16gb of ram and put it against all of the other 14 inch laptops that you have. also great video, keep it up!
And the msi GE78 13TH?? Where he is on this ranking?
Hey Jarrod, any chance you could update your gaming laptop deals site to have the option to sort by price be enabled?
Unfortunately not with how it's designed currently. You can use the Price drop down to set a price range though.
Where is the new loq 2024 review, please share it
