There are lots of books and stories about Liverpool tough guys and gangsters but Charlie Seiga was in a different league to most of them. Charlie wasn't a drug dealer who made millions and went to jail. This guy was an old school gangster, always on a job and if you messed with him he knew no limits, he was a killer , a thief and face for forty years. No martial arts background or steroid weight lifting on the doors. This guy was a feared old school intelligent career criminal. At the top of the tree in Liverpool crime in my opinion but kind of forgotten

All these characters / tough guys / 'faces', aren't real men. They think it's normsl to lead a life of violence, think people should tip their hat to them etc, walk around demanding respect...... Respect for what ; going around breaking the law, bullying people, and having a, say with regard to what other people do? Thinking a 'straightener' solves things, which it doesn't. Sounds messed up.
@DanLn1 I get that, and it's not just the cities. I'm just saying that you get all these characters that strike fear into people, (which is neither normal, nor acceptable, nor a good idea for health reasons), but picture this : Someone is a local face, and yes, in my experience, generally arrogant, and hypocritical with it. Has anyone got a right to be arrogant or hypocritical? No. Imagine the scenario, of the 'quick to take offence' local name, can no doubt have a bit of a row ( who cares??? 😂), takes offence because they feel they or an associate waa ' disrespected' by some unknown, insignificant guy,, and decide to teach the guy a lesson..... Potential outcomes are 1. Unknown guy gets 'taught a lesson'... 2. Unknown guy was underestimstrd, batters the supposed tough guy, so butt hurt bitch tough guy feels the need to save face, and really teach the other guy a lesson 😂. At this stage tough guy is a laughing stock clearly a tosspot, and proves my point there's no such thing as a straightener. 3. Unknown guy is ex Special Forces ., has better resources and contacts than tough guy, toughy guy goes permanently missing....... I'm just saying, that respect is earnt by being a decent human being, not a morally reprehensible POS.

There was one person who put the fear of god into Seeger, the dog, the Hughes twins. It was Peter Stockley, they were all terrified of him & he was only five foot five. I knew him well & his daughter, he ran social clubs, I was his chief defence witnesses in his murder trial. I grew up with the McGorrans, was best friends with the youngest, Jimmy & also Brian, Bob's retired & lives in Majorca. Him & Bob remained close friends. I remember this all happening, but there are so many other incredible stories just waiting to be told.
