Could listen to this guy all day,he’s straight up and down,no bull 👊
Michael is a top fella was great listening to him. A few friends of mine have the Terry Marley photo there’s some faces in that i see Terry sitting on Bill the Bombs shoulders. God rest them both.
That was a arrangement with reggie kray as he didn't let it slide as Sutcliffe battered Ronnie so it was set up as Jimmy knew he was going to broadmoor.
The tax man of middlesborough 😂😂😂😂
I remember in late 80’s some wannabe gangsters turned up at a Irish pub in Cricklewood after protection money week after there knees went missing
You would want this gentleman on your side rather than against you.Be great to hear more hes a proper un no bullshite
Still loving your videos, absolutely fascinating
If you have to pay someone else. to protect you or beat people up for you. Who's gonna protect you from them when they decide you're not paying them enough 😂
I remember the Blue Angels used to frequent The Whip public house in Leeds. On Saturdays, the Whip would be filled with the Blue Angels, the local National Front, and Leeds Service Crew! Surprisingly there was very little to no trouble between these three groups over the years during the 80s. I remember one Leeds Blue Angel who sadly committed suicide by driving his bike head on into a bus. He was a really friendly bloke who shared a few pints and company with my friends and it was shocking to hear of his death. I found the Blue Angels to be sound blokes.
This guy is so easy to listen too And not like the rest of the so called hard men who bend the truth
Jimmy Holmes states that story is a load of cobblers..like a lot of McLean's tales
A rember the mad scrap in oz that every one talks about with snowy n sayers etc , folk talk of a uzi or some other gun a dont rember that but a do rember the cross bow been fired at the doors later that night and having to stash me bag of 🕊 down the back a the seats because of it then spending ages trying to fish the feckers out by looking through the brass grill on top of the seats. Anyone from back then will rember them days used to find all sorts stashed down them hahaha miss them days man ... late 80's and 90's in shields was mental .. was full of characters 😂
What a straight forward sensible talking guy 🤩
Great stuff Mate... Top notch content as always, love to see more with you and Michael always enjoy his interviews, tells it straight no biggin himself up
Albert and Bobby Reading was heavy Canning Town faces in the 50s-80s and Albert was game well into his old age, running a boozer in the east end whilst in his late 60s until at least his 70s, he was still game as a badger, he became more of a tool merchant then; he attacked a fella with acid around them times. He had 3 fights in one day in Wandsworth I believe, against Frank Fraser (who was admittedly not too useful with his hands, he'd chop you to pieces in the blink of an eye though) and he knocked him spark out in the morning, then had a tear up with with both Richardson brothers; I believe Eddie got the better of him though Albert told it slightly differently of course! Charlie exhanged a few digs with Albert but pretty much dropped it out, not out of fear, that wasn't in Charlie's vocabulary; he simply told Albert he couldn't be bothered and thought violence a mug's game and retired to his cell to read, telling Reading that the best thing he could do in the shovel was educate himself, being an extremely well read and intelligent person, more so than his brother Eddie who was more a brawler.
Definitely write a book.
I'd like to know more stories about Gilbert Wynter. Mike only briefly mentioned him here. Id heard he was an intimidating fierce character but Mike seems to think he was nice....
He ran a crew of savages. He was polite to me but I was shrewd enough to be very wary of him. He was everything they say about him and a lot more.
@michaelkelly3638 thanks Mike!!
@@michaelkelly3638 I'd love an episode purely on the A team and Gilbert.
@ not my place to talk about the Adam’s . I had as few dealings with them as possible.
@@michaelkelly3638 Maybe just Gilbert then. Was he physically imposing?
Good buxxy
I used to go to Noshers’ pub in Garrett Lane many years ago, lovely genuine man, had some good times there. Good days.
Brilliant mate, great to see you've got Michael on, nice one. I'll watch this tonight 🥊👊
Cheers Matt first one. Will do ones in person soon once back out on the road
Good honest man so unlike half of the bs we hear from other wannabes
Hello mick it’s Dean long time no see hope your doing well I still see and talk to Andre all the time he hasn’t changed lol good work Ben getting better all the time
All right lad, Ben will be speaking to you as well. You’ll remember stories I’ve forgotten. Keep well lad 🤙
Great interview Ben, Michael Kelly shows that you don´t have to have a criminal record to be respected. He seems like a true gentleman and has real "old-school" values. Top Class interview
There is no shortage of hard men in the world however not all in fact very few are as articulate, well spoken and as intelligent as this guy Mr Kelly is a real all rounder, the full package small wonder he did as well as he did.
should have more subs.........always great content
When every night is Saturday night....................always stories to be told...
Enjoyed this, sensible guy. Joe Bugners son had a big door firm but you don,t hear much, any stories?
Il look into that mate thankyou
Who is the Doffus character?
Head of the Brixton crew who attacked the club un door in Tottenham. My hardest ever fight
@michaelkelly3638 you have lived quite the eventful life mick - I do remember that story now I think you told it on the criminal connection podcast. So he ended up getting killed by a young gunner for being a bully? That's the thing like you said in the video the old school tough guys were not used to a kid half there size willing to shoot them dead on the spot with a gun. Going back to your club fight in Tottenham, For you to even hold your own along with your team and fight against Doffus and so many of them and be outnumbered as you were you did extremely well - a true tough guy. Much respect to you Mr Kelly - love to hear more stories from your time on the door. Quick question - do you think Lenny Mclean was as tough as he made out in his book seeing as you actually knew him. Much respect 🙏
@@kevinharvey7139 Yeah had no choice but to fight really. Yes Len was a great door fighter. When he stopped boxing he gained size like I did and he was over 20st working the west end. Like chapman he used his weight perfectly. Tho no man ever has fought 30000 fights 😎
@@michaelkelly3638do you remember any doorman from Birmingham in the 90's. Great interview bud 😉
@ no, don’t remember working with any from there, and I never worked up north
Great stuff Michael and Ben. Like others, i could listen to your man all day. Really interesting amd no nonsense man
good man mike stright from the hip nice job.well spoken aswel.
No one ever mentions the hardest man in the North East . He's a Sunderland man . Probably the way he wants it .
Duffy wernt the boy , speedie n others where
Awesome mate
Any stories when you worked with Davey Maxwell in Dagenham ? He would have a book in him no doubt. Also Michael why did you have a fall out with Eddie Blundell ?
He ran a clamping firm many yrs ago and they took a car from a friend. I rang up and his Scottish manager who ran it mugged me off, which is fine, but he made the mistake of threatening me with the blundell name. When he was done ranting I asked him to write my name down, and i accept his challenge. I told him I’d give him a month before I got him and I’d take him on holiday to Ireland. 😎 Eddie rang me and tried to placate me but didn’t offer any solution so I just said his Scottish mouth will be sorted. Eddie screamed abuse as did I and that was it. I sent guys to the lot every day to count down the days. He brought the car and fine back to my friend who owned the Dagenham market chain. He asked me to let it lie. Worked a treat for me tho as I kept the markets for 20 yrs. they just thought I was a nice security boss. The amount of free burgers I got after that I put in a stone 😂😂
I don’t think I worked with Davy ? What makes u think I did
Tho I did a lot of doors in barking/dagenham
@@michaelkelly3638 when you did another podcast I asked before you replied you knew him and a guy called Marko at Jake and Elwood’s Dagenham when you had Hotshots. Out of interest cause Dave was married to my grandads sister, I used to go to Scrattons social club that he run I know he had doors the volunteer pub and worked at the Room at the top at one time he is 82 now.
@@michaelkelly3638 I remember my sister got her car clamped the woman landlady Patsy used to let her park her car in At Barking/ Brewery tap but they had the car park by her invitation she should have been ok to park but they took it for whatever made up reason even though she had parked there for ages Patsy couldn’t do anything or wouldn’t there was a northern guy was pretending to be Eddie Blundell she had to pay £250 to get it back from South Ockendon No surprise if people invite them in they will try to make easy money off everyone no scruples.
Thank you for this post, can not wait for his book. Your format is good Ben, love to have a podcast as well especially if it is visual.
Any more info about Michael's upcoming book.
Gimme a year, I’m new to this 😊
Isn't it interesting, that a lot of these hardmen like to do art when they are in prison.
No one tells it straighter, more honestly, and with a more intelligent insight than this guy. Sincerely, Future book buyer.
Great interview ,used to go to a club in the 90s where Michael was on the door ,the man is massive. Aa regular attendees got to chat to him few times whilst waiting to get in. Good to see your still about Michael, come on ,hurry up get the book out..😂..
That’s Bill the Bomb holding up Terry Marley there. Canning Town did produce a lot rough geezers
Do you think it was the canning town lot that did the Essex boys in the range Rover?
No
Michael needs to write a book. You can tell he's genuine and love hearing his stories from the 90's.
One tough man if you had him turn up i bet squeaky bum time.
Intelligent chap , no ego .
I met Lee Duffy in 1990, and after shaking his hand he broke my jaw. While I was in the hospital Lee visited, brought me some grapes, then broke my jaw again. For the next year or so Lee kept breaking my jaw. I never knew why he kept breaking my jaw, and I couldn't ask him because my jaw was always broken.
😂
I'll tell ya straight, he never liked nips
THESE PODCASTS ARE VERY GOOD AND EDUCATIONAL ABOUT HEAVY DUTY PEOPLE STORIES.GREAT STUFF.KEEP IT UP 🌍❤️👍👋🤔😲😠🤨🫡🥺☠️
Mate its gluckstead not guckstead
One thing is certain there’s always someone harder than you
He who rides a tiger
Where are all of these tough guys today, why don't they get together & save england from these muslim rape gangs 🤷 everyone is so tough but nobody doing anything about the sheepshaggers 🤔😖😠😡🤬😤
Old Peter Fury is the criminal of the family. Old John was just a soft lad, although there's no shame in that he has aspired to be some kind of hard man.
