I feel as if Bludworth is death himself. The reason he gives hints for the victims is to make the chase more interesting. He's probably dealt with a bunch of people who had visions and such for decades (Maybe even centuries if he's a demi god being) and having to watch them do their own thing wasn't enough.
Every time a visionary would ask about what was going on, and how to prevent it, he provides a different answer each time. The first; skipping by intervening, the second; new life, fifth; take someone else's life, etc. For him, its probably boring to see and say the same thing over and over again, so he had to come up with new diversions for future visionaries and victims. He'd want to give them false hope of saving their lives.
He's literally playing cat and mouse with each victim. Watching how each being will react to his advice, and them slowly growing paranoid to the point of madness.
When he says "death doesn't like to be cheated" he gives the most agonizing and suffering deaths imaginable as punishment, instead of dying instantly in the first place.

With that kid still being alive with being saved by the one who is sliced by the barbed wire, the chain wasn't affected when Kimberly killed herself and was brought back. 5:35 Based on the theory that he is Death, it's been implied that the premonitions were also part of Death's design and that Death has been playing them like a fiddle so that they would go to places and events where they were truly supposed to die. If you notice, each piece of advice seems to backfire in some way. For example killing someone to get you off the list. What if that person was destined to die sooner than you thought they would. Case in point when Nathan killed Roy. They later discovered that he would have died of a brain aneurysm. Meaning his life span was too short and it caught up to Nathan. Then you have the FBI guy that Peter kills. Law enforcement is always high risk. Meaning if Peter didn't kill him, someone or something else would have. Hence why he died just as fast when Sam killed him.

That's an interesting theory. I've always had one of my own though. Death and the Angel of Death are 2 separate entities in this universe. One takes life, the other takes the victims' souls to the afterlife. Both are forced to do this duty by the Fates, God, Norns, etc. Death doesn't question it but the Angel does because he's the one that has to guide souls to the afterlife, hear their stories, etc and wants them to have more time and so finds loop holes for them to buy time. So my theory is that William is the Angel of Death. It would explain how he knows so much, how he always comes to collect the bodies (souls) of Death's victims, and why he is always trying to help the survivors. He also always seems to pop up suddenly when needed.

So he is trying to save people, but can't. In the end he tries to be a coroner to study death to help more but each film he gets less and less "optimistic" of defeating death's design. Thus each film you see his downard spiral "I'll see you next" and then now he isn't in the films. Suggesting he has given up trying to save them (or hasn't been called back to act :))

This is, in my opinion, a super underrated theory.
Most of the FD movies being based out of New York and the consistent supernatural nature of these profilic accidents could easily be connected via something like the Shining, fitting into Castle Rock canon nicely.
Maybe William's ability to tap into the Shining and his constant evasion of death unintentionally causes death to seek out others to replace the life William continues to have despite his death. This might actually explain why death predominantly targets teenagers and those close to them. Perhaps Williams accident occurred during his latter years of high school, he was sought out by this "spirit of death" but managed to tap into his abilities and evade its machinations.
It probably started small and has gradually escalated to the mass devastation we see in the films. Bridge collapses, airplace crashes, highway pile-ups. The stronger Bludworth's presence, the greater the spirit grows and the more potent the premonitions in others. Hence why Final Destination 3 and 4 has weaker and less pre-emptive premonitions, i.e. the subway premonition happening mid-trip or the ambulance premonition happening moments before impact.
This would also go a long way in explaining his prevalence in the first and fifth film.
Or maybe being a coroner gives him quite a bit of free time and he keeps tabs on the news. Who knows?

That sounds reasonable, when the movie was coming to an end it was very interesting how Sam nor Molly didn't look over at Alex sweating or seeing him flinch in his own visual death but then when Alex wakes up and starts freaking out... that is when Sam and Molly kinda start seeing a pattern but not the SAME pattern they had when the bridge crashed, now what I am thinking is that when that bridge accident happened there was no such thing flight 180 until 1 month and 1 YEAR later when Sam and Molly board flight 180. NOW in FD2, there was a HUGE accident on Route 23 right? Now in FD5/FD1 Same and Molly's seat are number 23 and of course, when they take off after Alex has a freak out on the plane, Sam hears that one song on that bus and it was "dust in the wind".

In final destination 5, which in order should have been the first movie, bludworth said “I have seen things like this before” meaning that he is talking about his own mess with death and his own premonition. He was the only survivor and could have died after the second movie because he was only technically heard as a voiced character in the third film, which you had mentioned.

    • @METALFREAK03
      @METALFREAK03 3 роки тому +6

Or maybe his sight IS watching other people have sight of their own death?
So he is trying to save people, but can't. In the end he tries to be a coroner to study death to help more but each film he gets less and less "optimistic" of defeating death's design. Thus each film you see his downard spiral "I'll see you next" and then now he isn't in the films. Suggesting he has given up trying to save them (or hasn't been called back to act :))

    • @blondeboyworld
      @blondeboyworld Рік тому +2

I think the reason he doesn't appear in final destination 3 and 4 is:
      1. The people on death's list don't know about him so they never went to see him and he wasn't the coroner/mortician assigned to clean up the bodies.
      2. He doesn't directly go searching for people on death's list to warn them in person on his own (Although he subtlety warns those two guys in final destination 5 during that burial service)
      3. He could have decided that he should stay away from the survivors as he knows the advice he tries to give out doesn't work anyway despite the knowledge he has.

Death basically does not care about literally
anything but 2 States: Life and Death.
Otherwise, obviously, 1 Second after the Vision of someone,

But Death does not care about such damage. He gives a shit
how much Coca Cola those Survivors consume that would
otherwise not be consumed. They and their Actions only make
a difference when they save or take Lifes.
That means that all this does not really 'is' the Butterfly-Effect
but has much to do with it. Blood-related but not identical, ya see.

He grants the Clairvoyants their visions, hence why he was heard by the Clairvoyants of the Highway and Devil's flight accidents before their visions. He gives them advice on how to survive but doesn't interfere anymore than that and is indifferent to their deaths because life cannot exist without death. He just gives the Survivors a chance. What they make of it and if they manage to outlast death is up to them.

New theory: it's all a game. Death gives one person a future vision of their death and lets them survive the first time. The goal is that there needs to be one survivor and death spares them and considers them the winner. William is likely the only known person who went through this and survived Death’s game so he uses William as an extension to explain the rules (even If they’re super vague). So if you think about it Death isn’t taking these people because their time is up. He’s merely testing them to see if there can be another survivor like William.

As a nurse who’s work with a lot of death due to covid and my masters degree in forensics, I love his character and job.

My guess is maybe he was connected to death or worked for/with him. For example theres a movie called The legend, about an angel coming to save earth from gods wraith, because god didn’t have faith anymore, the angel was trying to save humanity again before god could hurt it, so he could show god there’s still good in people, and they don’t have to kill everyone and start a new human race. So I believe William still works for/with death but just like the angel in The legend, he is more empathetic and kinda rebellious towards death and therefore goes to warns/help the remaining accidental survivors. I love your theory though, I totally believe it as well, I just like the supernatural aspect in that movie, it helps me sleep at night.🤣

You gotta love how Bludworth's only role in these films is to show up and tell the survivors "LOL. Sucks to be you guys".

He must of been through near on death experiences and knows quite a lot. He came out with a quote saying that there's a balance to everything for every life there is a death, for every death there is a life.
Pretty scary that I've been saying that in recent times.

It would be interesting if one day there was a reboot about William's childhood. About how he cheated death so many times and he failed in the end.

He is the Ferry Man!!!! Omg i missed all the clues! I was thinking he was an earlier survivor and even is he is the references to being the ferry man are all there. He is at every pick up night or day. You never see him interact with the other morgue workes ~! Oh my !!!

My theory is only backed by the fact that he had knowledge of things that happened in the future, since no such sequence of deaths had happened prior to the bridge collapsing.

I think there is a feasible explanation for him being death and helping the kids. Assuming he is death, the people escape him because of premonition. This premonition seems like a blessing, but death is inevitable. It always catches up to the entire cast eventually. So, as a bit of fun, death gives them a premonition of his own that allows for additional time alive, but he knows that only for a period of time and that they will inevitably die anyways. It’s basically like death flexing his power. He gives you a handicap that seems to solve all your problems but his victory is so inevitable that there’s nothing you can actually do. When I think of the personification of death I think of a cruel, vengeful, mischievous kind of character that would offer you a deal without telling you that you have no hand to play with.

I just had a thought while watching this video, what if he was a bystander for several tragedies and became a conspirator on seeing how death works, like he once witnessed a horrible car pile-up, a plane crash after he and a survivor got off, and so on and so on. So he became obsessed like our main characters do in each film reading up and researching past tragedies but he lost himself in his obsession and became this ominous creep who only lives with death all around him beyond arm's reach. But I do like the idea that he has had visions like the others and has gotten good at staying away from death taking him
