    Thank God...finally found a video without annoying, overpowering background music!

    Suggestion: Get a larger funnel and cut your opening larger than the diameter of the tube which was originally part of the funnel. The column of water would be lower and the speed of the water washing through it could be far slower. The lighter particles of sand and other debris will still rinse out, but the finer flour gold will have a better chance of being left behind. Also, have a 5 gallon bucket below your bowl to trap your tailings for future run throughs. More gold can be retrieved.

    omg I have been wondering what the heck a blue bowl is and why people are raving about it. A thousand thankyous for posting this!

    It is a funnel. I tested with a much steeper funnel at first, but the result was the same.

    I bought it at "Överskottsbolaget" here in Sweden.
    It is a bowl used for washing, marked Made in Italy Tusfra.

    1. Cone not high enough 2. Water inlet twice size it should be. 3. Sides of bowl straight - should be 15-20 degrees from vertocal ... 4. to test mix gold with dirt, not glue the pieces to the bottom first ... The point is to MAKE the gold settle and not to have it there to start with,
    other than that nice job!

      1. 2.The bowl is bigger than you think, the cone in the middle is probably 60 mm in height. But i run it way to fast, with too much water. 3. The sides are not straight. Take a look at my version 2 of this bowl at my other video. But this first version worked much better.

      My experience is that the thing works best if the angle on the outside of the bowl mirrors that of the cone, and the depth of water is greater than 100mm else you lose fine (micron) gold. You also have to be careful with the angle you inject the water at. It needs to be slightly downward and almost parralel with the bowl edges. I also took an old Dyson vacuum cleaner (cyclonic) apart and thos things work well you just cant process fast!

    you need some soap or jet dry to break the surface tension of the concentrates

    i have worked for a mining project trying to recover micro gold (5 -25 microns) from a polymetallic sulphide deposit. the best method equipment to use would be a high speed centrifuge running anywhere between 125 to 150 Gs. with a reasonable counterpressure recovery rates can go as high as 98%.

    You need a little dawn soap so you don't lose the fine floating gold

    Interesting video, thanks but I'm left thinking, what would happen doing that same demonstration with real black sand. The heavy kind, that comes with gold con's from the real world of hard work. I'm not suggesting you do it but what if? To see if it works just as good. I guess I'll have to try some day.
    In this test you had to almost overflow the bowl to get the turbulence required to moved that "light" sand out. That leaves me wondering if using a denser sand, closer to the density of the black sand found in fine con's, whether the black sand would even separate in that bowl? Based on the fluid dynamics involved I find this an interesting video indeed. Thank you, Cheers

      I have done a lot of testing, this version is 4 years old. Check out my last one, with fine gravel and black sand mixed with gold. Homemade Blue Bowl - Gold Recovery V3 If the sand material is very small, it moves out before the black sand. If you get some lager stuff in the blowl, lake i did in this movie, it will not get out.

  • @videolabguy
    @videolabguy 7 років тому +3

    Explanation? What was put in. How does the machine work? How do you properly operate it? What was the final outcome? Was that gold in the bowl? How much? Questions! Questions! Questions!

  • @tommelli5428
    @tommelli5428 5 років тому +2

    So many questions not addressed. Diameter of bowl, diameter of inflow, diameter of drain, + why that height specifically ? Why not make drain hole and water inflow the same diameter to equalize water level ?

    • @xenaguy01
      @xenaguy01 4 роки тому

      Water level is adjusted according to the size of the particles. Your concentrates must be sized first, and a different water level is used for each size range.

    Two things wrong; first, the bowl is not level, this is obvious because the water almost over flowed on the far end and second you are running it way way too fast, no doubt you washed away most of the gold. Other than that It’s a good setup.

    I don't think the cone is not high enough..I think the outlet aperture in the cone is too small and so the water cannot leave as freely as it would if the outlet were bigger.The depth of water above the outlet hole is causing an updraft and I reckon you would lose almost all of your truly fine gold.
