  • I ran the blue bowl full bore to see how much of the fine gold would be blow out. How efficient is the Blue bowl at recovering fine gold? I had to find out if the blue bowl was worth it or do I need to go back to a clean up sluice and a gold pan.

    I see a lot of comments saying "It takes too long," and "It didn't work for me."
    I've never used one, in fact I've never prospected. But I've learned a few things about prospecting for gold-bearing ore, and about getting the gold out.
    1) Patience. You can't take enough time, if you want to get all the gold. That goes for prospecting, and refining.
    2) Classify. Gold is heavier than rock, but flour gold is not heavier than boulders. So classify several times to recover more gold.
    3) Level. It doesn't matter what you're using, take some time to make sure it stays level. Rigs that are not level don't trap gold.
    4) Patience. Did I say, be patient. Especially during the fine recovery process. Spending an extra half hour running a Blue Bowl slower could recover 10% more gold. Worth it? You decide.

      Exactly! It takes a lot of patients to get all the gold no matter what you are using.

    Great vid, glad I found your channel! I love my blue bowl too. I am mining a lode gold deposit that yields very fine gold, and the blue bowl has won my confidence. The smallest, barely visible specs remain in the bowl. the rest is taken out. I like that you tested it, and showed that it worked with your material.

      @@alanrobertson2510 :....Has anyone tried using an rotating "Inner-Tube" with casters riding on the outside ( to cause undulating ripple-esque bottom ) ?
      My thinking was:...The casters cause undulating "Hills & Valleys"...Like when an Earthquake would open cracks in the ground....Then causes them to close, after heavier stuff falls in. Repeating this action will send all heavy stuff down.

    Good video mate 👌
    Running flat out and with little concern you only lost 13 specks 👍.
    Classifying & running it a bit slower, brushing the heavies to the outside would give near 100% accuracy in gold recovery.

      on my stressed days ive been firing mine up again as i made some quality of life improvements to mine that make me wanna use it as much as i can until my new piece of equipment gets ordered and shows up. im close to getting it and im gonna finally reclaim my workshop. i have a few thousand pounds of good material to go through and this isnt fast enough. its alot faster but snuffer bottles suck and so does scooping. auto feed hopper after bowl is clear is awesome. so it a power snuffer. not a shop vac youll lose everything. but i had a 2 stage power snuffer i made first but filled with water too fast. but now i made it a biiiig single stage. now blue bowl is much much faster once i get autofeed hopper dialed in all the way ill have a nice little setup to waste away the days i dont want to people. i also have a big 1000 watt 7 speaker home theater system in my workshop so i jam out and just let the worries wash away.
      it has let me do these hot runs without worrying about losing anything cause ill find out the facts soon if ive been doing good.
      i always save tailings but i can put them outside most of the value is deff gone after im done.
      i know im losing a little bit of super fine but the stuff i have is dreadful for most and they wont even mess with it. better for me as its all mine and i have some really really good spots. these recent mods alone make me wanna get back to my good spot so i can finally test what i found there. i never brought home samples from there but the test pans were way better than my previous good spots and my friend confirmed he cant wait to get this material either. he seen both spots test pans and a few others and he knows what the winner is. all of them but especially the hard one to get to.
      the funny thing is i gemstone hunt. but the places ive gone i always find a little something yellow. turns out they go hand in hand for the things im after so having equipment to process anything i find has came in super useful. but my spots for this material are all mine. it makes a great break from doin the same thing over and over but i need more room this stuff literally piles up fast. and moves too slow.
      i have literally highly considered just putting it in bags and selling it as good luck paydirt. its in there but good luck. if you can get it easy. you better go out and do some things. hit the raffles lottery and any sweepstakes you can find. it makes life seem easy most days and i like that.

    Hey Alan, I've been using a Blue Bowl exclusively to clean cons for many years. In order to be successful, you definitely need to classify in order for it to work properly. I screen 25, 50, 75, 100 mesh. Anything larger than 25 mesh, is panned. About 25% of my gold is -75 mesh. You will never capture that by mixing with 30 mesh particles. Also, you need to stand with it at all times, regulating flow rate. As the volume of black sand decreases in the bowl, the water flow rate increases due to less friction. Therefore, you need to reduce flow rate, otherwise you will blow out the gold ! This why some folks don't like it. Patience pays off. I'm sure if you pan that bag of cons, you'll see a lot more -100 gold. 🤠

      @allansgoldmining 4 роки тому +1

      @@theinternetisaseriesoftube5107 My gold is round too. Very coarse. Sticks to the bottom of the bowl real well. Flakes tend to have a higher potential to float out. Three cups would take a couple hours, if you include time to classify. 🤠

    I got my blue bowl working great, I found that you need the stuff you put in to be very very classified I do 30 mesh, 50 mesh and a 100 mesh, what you put in you want to be from the same mesh size, even though you would think 30 mesh only should be good its not, if all you material is the same mesh size your running I found that you get much better results with moving the black sands because it will all weight about the same and you wont have to have your water full blast, you adjust right to where it starts to move the black sands and walk away for a while and come back and its done.

    I own one and I’m surprised you did as well as you did running it like that. Step one classify to separate mesh’s as each mesh will need a different speed. If you are making it push 30 mesh black sand then of course it’s going to push 60-100 mesh gold out. Step two remove magnetite. Step three run it about 1/2 inch from the brim. I’ve never had a loss issue.

  • @iiniijewelry
    @iiniijewelry 4 роки тому

    I use a snuffer with a longer tube and classify all of the sand to at least -60. Smaller than that it just isn’t worth the time lol. But I snuff it out as it goes towards the center. And you have to keep close eye on the flow. It’s really easy to get too much. And I also brush my cons to the outer edge. It helps settle the gold better and keep it in the bottom. And before you get the dirt wet. Run a magnet through it and run that stuff separate. Really, the bowl is a lot of work. The dirt at the claim makes it worth it. But I wouldn’t use it for anything else. Too much work and a good old fashion tap hand on the pan works better than anything

Place them in the 3 slots where there are no legs Heated them with a torch and and melted the new legs in the humps provided for the ooriginal legs but new holes.
