It was an amusement park that opened up in the mid-70s and quickly closed down. Why it shut up shop after only two seasons is unknown, but persistent rumours claim a number of guests died on the rides, forcing the owners’ hands. In 1986, the park tried to open back up again after being closed down for about 10 years, but it didn't last long. Situated some 250km north of Tokyo, almost nothing was known about this ruined old park. Urban Explorers weren't even certain where exactly it was. However, in 2010 most of its rides were finally torn down, leaving nothing to show that Takakonuma Greenland ever existed at all. *SCP-439* is based off the disease Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP.) It's an extremely rare connective tissue disease. The disease is caused by a mutation of the body's repair mechanism, which causes fibrous tissue (including muscle, tendon, and ligament) to be ossified spontaneously or when damaged. There is no cure or approved treatment for FOP. Attempts to surgically remove the bone result in explosive bone growth. The staff member claims that they and about 5 scientists work on the collection of data from the SCP. According to the information given, the SCP is an object similar to the appearance of a 15th century English sword, with strange markings carved into it, the language of the markings is said to be Latin, but so far only a fourth of the text has been translated
This is so nostalgic now. I think 4 years ago I randomly clicked on this video with absolutely no exposure to SCPs and I got scared shitless because I started to believe this was all real and had stumbled upon something I shouldn't know about.

Ngl, this was my first exposure to SCP. Because you guys started off with that cave, it all felt so official and real, which softened middle school me up to believe the rest of the video. I spent a whole week having am existential crisis. Coming back all these years later and the video holds up. Thank you for introducing me to what is now one of my favorite pieces of fiction, and thank you for the scares and memories that terrified me at the time but i now look back on and laugh

I absolutely love the presentation of this video, I bet everyone that stumbled upon this video kind of did a double take to make sure they weren't watching some sort of classified video. Such an underrated channel and a classic video. Also started my love of horror all those years ago.
A nice idea but the foundation does not typically view scp artefacts as toys to be used, because we will never fully understand them. What if the garbage decayed by the object gets distributed into the atmosphere, or us used as fission fuel for a yet unseen hostile entity? Also, dumping all the world's trash around it would also require a world wide effort, thus revealing the foundation to the rest of the world.

SCP-823 is believed to be real. the theme park is called Takakanonuma Greenland タカカノ沼グリーンランド The theme park officially opened in 1973 in Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture, a mountainous, rural area in the North. Throughout construction the urban myth had begun to grow amongst the locals that the park grounds were cursed, but when Takakanonuma Greenland opened and people started dying in one freak accident or another the myths and rumours turned into fear. I know it would be like a 30 hour video or like a 10 part series but I would love for every SCP to be covered in this format.
If it took 1 hour to cover 22 SCPs then mathmatically it would take 273 hours to cover all 6000, so it might happen, it's just not likely.

I honestly feel a bit of sympathy for SCP-049, he genuinely believes there’s something absolutely awful that we need to be saved from, yet nobody understands him because the nature of what he’s trying to save us from is so elusive, and he can’t explain it. That being said, plague doctors are still one of the creepiest things ever, and idk, I sympathize with him, but I personally wouldn’t wanna be cured
