I am a recent convert to Boccherini. So glad I found him. Thanks to Master and Commander.
Hold fast.
Ditto 👍☺
M&C is legit! It broke my heart when Calamy was killed.
Read the books fellas. They are endlessly enthralling. There are 20!
Boccherini is the lesser of 2 weevils
“The bird’s flightless, Stephen?”
“Yes.”
“It’s not going anywhere.”
Hold fast.
made me chuckle, nice one mate
name a shrub after me........something prickly and difficult to eradicate.....
Got to hand it to the Movies from time to time for introducing the masses to wonderful pieces of music. Bravo
This is the musical selection for the final scene of the movie Master and Commander. I hear it and I can't stop smiling.
I am beating to quarters on HMS Suprise
Master and Commander brought me here⛵
Hold fast.
So it did me!
From the oceans to the ornamental pond at El Retiro park!❤
I, as well
This Cellist is great! How can it be otherwise? Boccherini was a virtuoso cellist. A great composer of course, he wrote this song.
This song shows the Cello as such a fine melody instrument, yet capable of playing lower tones to accompany the higher toned stringed instruments. I love how the Cellist gets excited to play his melody - a little too early! And he doesn't. He waits and nails the song.
This Cellist is very talented. Wonderful technique and a beautiful sound!
Experiencing this was an absolute pleasure.
Felicitaciones... Me han hecho soñar, dormir... tal vez pensar...
Amazing what hearing a favorite piece of music-not heard for years- does to one
It does, does it not?
Awesome.. you're excellent musicians...and Boccherini is a masterpiece ❤❤❤
Magical nights of Madrid.
This is beyond BRILLIANT ---Bravo
Wonderful. Boccherrini is my favourite.
I love this piece and this is the best interpretation I've ever heard. Pure delight to listen to. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with you
Quasi quasi sconosciuto oserei dire.

Such a beautiful homage to the music. So playful and light. You can imagine them playing at a party or among your friends, everyone (hopefully) just having a wonderful time. Wish I could have been dancing in Madrid :) (The central cellist is clearly the group leader, so encouraging and animated. Love it; and part of the reason why this group is amazing.} Opinions mine.*
So wonderful and so modern despite its age. Thanks for sharing.
Boccherini is almost always a pleasant surprise, different and entertaining. Really good interpretation.
I love the staely and serene joy of this piece...a very fine interpretation.
MADRID. VILLA Y CORTE, PARA ENVIDIA DE MUCHOS!!
SER MADRILEÑA ES UN TÍTULO!!
GRAN Y ACOGEDORA GENTE. CON CLASE Y SENCILLA.
MAGNIFICO L. BOCHERINI!!!
Wonderful, lively, fresh, inspired, energetic, beautiful, cultured, driving and superb in execution. Bravo.
Scrape scrape, screech screech, nothing a fellow could dance to
Lovely 😍
Magnificent! This has got to be one of the best interpretations of this piece I've ever heard. I've often felt that Luigi Boccherini is woefully underappreciated. And more's the pity. 242 years ago, this piece was clearly ahead of it's time. Thank you for posting this.
Agreed good Sir!
Sublime
@@forlornfool221 Indeed.
a real joy! stunning for 1780!
I most heartily concur!
This is one of my favourite pieces and is one of the first that I heard after starting to listen to classical music. I bought a fantastic mobile phone speaker and it has transformed the sound of the phone. No longer is it all treble without any real sense of bass but now I can hear the full spectrum of sound
Das ist wunderschön musika!
Big thanks to Him I'm still able to listen to this so so cool
Thank you! I've loved this for a long time, and it's nice to see it performed with the spriteliness and grandeur it deserves!
Absolutely 💗🙏
what a great song. what a great quintet. I think the movement from 7:35-10:23 is my favorite excerpt from any quintet piece ever. Or quartet! Thanks for sharing music. Just a great way to live.
*7:33-10:23
It's a great piece. But You have to listen more string music
That's the reason why I'm here, haha!
I agree, nevertheless, all the opus is great.
12:40 IS-ROCK!!!
I very much love this version of the song... Plenty of spirit here!
Bravo. Angel Fire * this touches my soul
Thanks to each of you for an inspiring rendition. I have always wanted to play a stringed violin/viola/cello (piano player) but now more than EVER!!!
This is beautiful. Thanks so much guys. I could listen to this all day.
Magnifique!!!
Pas courant d'entendre ce tempo. Très beau !
RIDOLFO Luigi Biccherini
Captain Aubrey and Dr. Maturin sent me to tell you your playing is beautiful.
And I most heartily concur, my good Sir.
Straight at him!
Nice, the five guys :-) MaxiVersion from the art of a verry good Sound. I Love it
Boccherini inmortal ...genio...
This is fantastic. and yes a recent convert also, having just been unaware of Boccherini (although I did know the section from M&C !) and so it was actually thanks to R3 (BBC) and only last week hearing Fandango, Quintet in D major G448 for the first time. Absolutely inspired, and this is the same. Thank you so much for this , a great performance. spriteliness and grandeur for sure!
This comfort is irreplaceable , andincomparable
Magnífica interpretación...............muy bien conseguida
I am a general music lover, not a fan of obscure "long hair" classical as often played on FM radio. Love traditional flamenco and Spanish guitar, Chet Atkins guitar, Lynard Skynard, Debussy, Grieg, "big band". Thanks to You Tube it's all available. So many great artists and styles!
the violin part 8:30 is the most beautiful version of that part in any version of the song I have ever heard
The opening sounds very modern! I really love the piece and quintet has done a fine job!
Lovely joyful video. I am glad I found it.
back for my New Years Fix.. will be back in this life or tha next..
This is really quite extraordinary.
Spain is always in fashion, always an aspiration.
Some of the best, kindest, most wonderful doctors I ever worked with in NNICU were Espagnol 🙏💗🥰😇

What do you think about Fandango...?
@@nicolascruz4009 I've been listening to his music now for many years. I listened to the beautiful Stabat Mater sung by AgnesMellon on Good Friday

The tune herein featured on "Master and Commander" makes me happy and seemed to make the quintet smile too.
Hold fast
Amazing!
wonderful
Felicidades simplemente sublime
Gracias por esta maravillosa música de Boccherini. Es un espíritu para el corazón ❤️👏👏👏
My favorite performance yet. Bravo!
Magnifica interpretación, felicidades.
Prachtig gespeeld. Heerlijke muziek.
This is an example of a composition that requires refocus to extract more of the better tunes. Musicians of today should not refrain from recomposing music of 250 years ago.
Maravillosos...¡Felicidades!
So beautiful
Magistral...
It was a completely different experience because of a completely different rendition. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Hoping for new experiments. Three cheers!
BRILLIANT ---Bravo
BEAUTIFUL

A friend, who was a fan of the books, gifted me one. Sadly, I have to confess Ive not read It.

Lovely.
