Told myself the day the 4080's go under a thousand dollars I would upgrade. Sure enough PNY came through. Very happy with this card!
..Just bought this exact GPU Model :) FYI, this card has the new "H++" 12V-2x6 (total design limit: 675 W) power socket / header :)
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
@@trongnhantran6861 it will reduce the risk of socket melting
@@biocyber4544 Nice, thank you
Is it still going strong? This is the only msrp 4080 rn and i wonder if it has performance loss compared to those other 1100$+ 4080s
Its fine@@Cenuzi
this card is like the only one thats consistently in stock and MSRP for some reason lol.
are people just scared of the PNY brand or something?
yeah they have a bad rep with previous gpus / ssds / ram i think and some other parts as being low quality / unreliable /// BUT their 40 series cards in general have been solid and while may not be the top model which is still a 1-2% performance difference it is usually one of the quietest / coolest versions out there.
No, PNY doesn't have a good reputation in the PC community.
Adding to what Raxion said, they also don't hold up their end of the warranty. If your card has an issue, 9/10 they won't help you and you'd have to talk directly to Amazon for a refund. Most people with that issue got a refund and bought a whole new card from a different brand.
The best looking yet thick RTX 40 series card on the market, outside the 3 big PC parts brands
I've seen a loss of few fps here and there. Still worth the 200 saving.
Loss compared to what?
@@baileysalez4296any Expensive models.
Wat u mean
The other 4080 super brands im guessing that are more expensive @@kinged358
@@baileysalez4296probably the rtx 4070 ti super
Mine had a bad fan bearing. Heard grinding sound constantly. Waiting on another one to come in next week
I bought this card to replace my 4080 FE so I can save $200 but then saw some benchmarks showing less FPS on Cyberpunk for both 2k and 4k?
Even 4090 has a hard time running that game natively.
How does that save you $200? You're not gonna be able to sell the 4080 for the same price you bought it at. You're spending $1000 on a 4080 Super, getting _maybe_ $850 back for the 4080 if it's in good condition, and all for a 1-3% increase in performance?
@@enhab7457 I have an extended return policy with Best Buy lol
Where are these benchmarks
Margin of error. Even the highest clocked GPU variants of the same model only gives 1-2FPS at Max
Its so damn pretty 😮
It's better to spend just a few extra dollars on a better model than this one. You will have better temps, fps and longevity too.
Build?
Worth the upgrade from a 3090?
also curious.
So worth it
I switched back to nvidia from amd owning a 7900xtx yeah more vram but 16gb sweet spot.AMD make good cpus I own 7900x3d but damn issue after issue with my 7900xtx finally went back team green and went with this model.Great gpu and no issues feel good to be back to team green and dlss>>>fsr

Get gigabyte or msi. Asus expensive. Asus/Msi/Gigabyte. Only this 3 brand.
why
lol I've heard more issues in Gigabyte and ASUS GPUs recently more than from PNY. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Coil whine is common with Asus. Gigabyte's PCBs crack easily (my first 4080 PCB cracked). MSI has high GPU temps but is still a decent pick. Despite PNY's bad reputation, they have the fewest reported issues and more praise compared to other brands.
The PNY 4080 Super Verto appears to be built with very cheap materials, i don't think its a good choice for $1000
What materials are cheaper?
@@KingMacintosh2 Not sure on all material, but it does feel cheap compared to my RUF Gaming 3080.
