  • TAKING OVER your lawn can be intimidating! Knowing where to start will boost your confidence and have you eager to get out there. You should definitely start with these 3 basic tips if you are new to Lawncare. Most veterans will comment that "WE KNOW THIS ALREADY" but some people are late to start. These are the 3 principals I go by every season now that I am seasoned in the DIY lawn scene. There is nothing like being PREPARED for what is to come. I am kind of similar to a doomsday prepper for the lawn. Get your machines ready, fertilizer, lawn bags, and know what the hell is going on out there so you don't go in blind. I will leave links down below so you can check out these companies. I have used them before and stand by them. If you do purchase anything the proceeds go to the channel so I can continue to make motivated better content. Hopefully this helps you and gets you out there! Consider subscribing... IT's FREEE!
    Turf Titan- turftitanbrands.com/theneighb...
    Use TND 10 on their site for a discount, or if you are more comfortable using amazon this is a link to one of their products and you can go look at their store.
    Lawn Commander- amzn.to/3PpArYT
    This is my 3rd season with them. Maybe 4th, I can't remember.
    Liquid harvest link
    Mesotrione for Pre Emergent and seeding
    amzn.to/4cvHV6y
    Blazer Tank Clean for in between applications
    amzn.to/4955wYx
    No Foam
    amzn.to/3VnztzX
    Mow Deck Spray- amzn.to/49UM5TO
    Leaf Chute - amzn.to/3VrBifh
    It's a 3 pack which is unnecessary IMOP. Go to home depot or Lowe's to get a single. But if you don't like going out in public, amazon has you covered for the next 3 years😄
    Senix Tools - senixtools.com/
    Senix is coming out with a new line of battery and gas lawn equipment to go along with their whole line of powertools. They will be sending me equipment throughout the season to show on the channel . So far very impressed with the mower. Go check them out!

    Hi Clint, I viewed and saved your video from last year (re: 20/yo young man starting his lawn care).
    I'm a married woman whose hubby is NOT the domesticated type (and that's ok 😊).
    I enjoy taking on household projects, so I'll be tackling our yard that's 18 months post new development.
    Last season, my hubby strongly suggested that we use a lawn care service when I was unable to establish a green yard mid-season. So I yielded.
    Well, after the "professionals" arrived to "save the day," the grass still isn't flourishing. After spending a lot of money on bi-weekly service ($60) and all types of treatment ($75 - $150 per treatment), I'm ready to take the reins. I have purchased a lawn mower and will be watching your videos throughout the season for tips on how to get our yard flourishing!

      This is fantastic! This sounds intimidating but I would suggest taking a soil sample. They are very easy and if you use something like a "my soil" test kit they give you everything you need. It will show you what your lawn is needs and doesn't need. It will "suggest" what you need to being your levels to where they need to be. You only have to do it once every few years. Otherwise you might be putting products down that your lawn won't even take in.
      Thats the problem with the "professional" true green people. They don't test. What they are putting down on everyone elses lawn they are putting on yours too. Regular cultural practices are key and I will be going over that in the next few videos. Frequency of mowing and watering are 90% of it. Then feeding it food. There are diy fertilizer plans out there that are so simple and will have your lawn looking heathier and basically weed free for the season. I'll be able to help you with any questions I can answer from my personal experience. I am not a turf specialist but have been doing my own lawncare for years now and kicked the expensive "professionals" to the curb! LET'S GO!

    • @daaggie98
      @daaggie98 3 місяці тому +1

      @TheNeighborDominator Exactly!!! I assumed that was the case...the "professionals" were just throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks without testing the soil, solely based on what they've maintained for mature lawns. Meanwhile, we're paying for all of the "guess work."
      I have to admit, I've been a little intimidated by the whole "testing the soil" process, but I will give it a go! It makes complete sense to start by evaluating the soil (the foundation of lawn care) to determine its needs.
      Thank you SOOOOOOO much for your insight and willingness to share!!! I appreciate the "non-professional" perspective as it seems to offer the most truthful assessment, in my humble opinion. 😃

      @daaggie98 if you have any other questions or thoughts and want a second diy opinion on my personal experience you can reach out through any video or email me at clint.tnd@gmail.com I respond to all of it. Lawncare is my hobby/passion now being a home owner and will always try to help a fellow diy-er. No question is a stupid question ever. Ex. What is a dandelion, what is npk, etc. Send them over💪🏾

      Its what I use. I will take note of that though. I remember when I was starting out trying to figure out what people were using. I just am saying it. I am simplifying everything. Not multiple brands of everything. It makes it easier. But you are right, it can come off like that and people who pay attention to that rather than the message of ...get your machines ready, get your fertilizer ready, and get out there will get lost. Thanks fornthe comment💪🏾

      I unfortunately do not watch his channel. It does get a little redundant in the lawn community. We all do the same thing but different. cut, fertilize, etc. Thats why I like to do a lot of product reviews and build things sometimes, do before and afters to switch it up ya know🤷🏽‍♀️💪🏾

    • @skewz
      @skewz 3 місяці тому +2

      @@TheNeighborDominator You are correct! The UA-cam lawn care community is small and can be redundant with content. Its definitely all about quality of the post versus just quantity (videos). I remember seeing a video you had posted with yardbrah doing a collab! What happened between you two?
