Please share your cockpit equipment list. Your plane does exactly everything I want my build to do. No need to reinvent the wheel. I would greatly appreciate the info.
I just have the Dual Dynon Skyview, backup Garmin 660, of course backup attitude. Also for this flight additional NAV receiver and Status ADS-B receiver working with Foreflight.
I used an "Ursuit" dry suit. Quite comfortable to wear in small planes. I borrowed a 4 man life raft and bought a single man raft as a backup. Luckily I didn´t have to use my emergency equipment so I cannot really judge my selection. I did feel well with all my preparations and equipment knowing there were still some remaining risks.
Any idea how many RV’s are currently flying in Deutschland? Also, I have been informed that you must get permission to fly Experimental Aircraft in each country and I wondered who you contacted and if that presented any problems along the way.
I have no numbers for flying RVs in Germany but I see more and more. I needed overflight permits for Iceland, Canada and USA. I applied well ahead of the flight and had all documents and permits when leaving home base - so no problems along the way.
I borrowed the helmet so don´t know from where it is. PLB and a single man life raft bought from a vendor in UK. Four-men life raft borrowed from a club mate. I bought all the other small items from outdoor stores here and there.
Simply EPIC! Thanks for the videos! Love the plane!
That really is an epic trip!

This is inspirational. Vielen Dank! Jetzt will ich nach Deutschland in meinem RV-10 fliegen!
What an inspiration to explore. You saw more in the US this trip then I in my life!
Amazing! Thank you for taking the time to share these clips of your adventure. As others have said it's truly inspiring.

Herman, I assume you researched immersion suits and life rafts for the trip. What did you use and any particular recommendations?

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. We will be building an RV10 with hopes to use it to fly from the USA to visit my son living in Thuringia.
Were the water crossings IFR or VFR flightplans? Thanks
Hi Herman, did you publish a build log for your plane?
I didn´t - but I will put some pics together which I made during the built for a short video.
Can you tell me where the helmet and other gear was purchased?
I borrowed the helmet so don´t know from where it is. PLB and a single man life raft bought from a vendor in UK. Four-men life raft borrowed from a club mate. I bought all the other small items from outdoor stores here and there.
Greenland actually white
Iceland actually green
