When used in conjunction with normal flying that added ability a SAFE systems allows with a flip of a switch is a game changer while flying and when learnt can allow you to do things with a plane you simply would never do without it .
I also hear the same ignorance when people fly "drones" Kwads and people fly in angle mode and s many claim it is a crutch but one can also manipulate those flight modes to do various things
So one can fly in angle, and horizon and also in acro all in one flight if they wanted to , and to have the ability again to have that on a switch to flip and in milliseconds change a situation is priceless and FUN
Plus not to mention a great learning tool for so many to get into the hobby
WHY so many want to put down tech that has helped so many just because they "THINK" it is some sort of "Auto Pilot" and ruins some ones flying ability is beyond me ...I say it is ignorance , simple as that .
Ur Welcome
So you're saying I'm not the only one LoL Thank you so much for stepping in I was really feeling like I was the idiot they painted me to be just because I felt like having safe on a bird was always a good idea I prefer to land in safe mode I see these guys at my field who are all Super Duper experts don't get me wrong however I see them come in and tip a wing all the time coming in with safe mode is just a security blanket that I like now I have certain birds that I practice with all safe all the time but I don't have any birds like some of these guys so when I get a really nice one like this Raptor I would have liked to keep it nice it's still pretty nice from the top as you can see in the video a little bit of damage at the bottom that I can probably live with once I get the pin for the gear but safe mode would have solved all of this I've landed a thing so many times and without issue so I guess I'm an idiot since I couldn't add it this time when I was completely in panic mode and couldn't come down with it quickly enough to get this thing on the ground.
Furthermore I feel like these guys who are fanatics about things like the technologies SAFE as well as others chase people away from this hobby, I've seen it happen at my field I kept my mouth closed during these situations and fortunately these people were directed to me at some point which kind of helped out because I'm that guy who everybody asked to set their aircraft up I know the technology is fairly well no expert I'm just a guy
@@Pooley929 I have dealt with the primadonna's myself and why I do not fly in clubs , I just do not have patience with people, and I am a little fast on the draw as it were.
But people seem to not grasp the fact we ALL are NOT the same. What works for one may not work for another and all their "learn the right way" ideology just shows me how ignorant so many are .
I do not have to have SAFE at all, BUT why not use the great tech it is for your own advantage
I can not make the "experts" understand that SAFE is not a detriment in skills it can and usually is a benefit to them.
But you have those who think unless it is their way it's wrong no matter what.
But it is their loss for not learning about new tech and it's enjoyment and asset to the Hobby as a whole
I fly micro quads and have moved to small UMX planes, I fly FPV , well when I get to fly that is and that has slowed down a lot lately
but hey YOU do YOU and have FUN and let the "experts" do themselves...LOL
@@FlyingBuzzard as always thanks for chiming in Thanks for your encouragement Thanks for the help Thanks for taking your time out to post here and thanks for being very specific and pointing out some very literal details no two are created equal.
@@Pooley929 exactly...lol
Honestly if you need safe to land a plane you shouldn't even be flying a plane like that.
@@turbor9770 However I have roughly 10 to 15 flights on it before this happened so that's the purpose of technology I came in fine without it on but decided to go around for a better landing since it was going to roll into the grass quite fast That was my mistake but thanks for your encouragement
I only have about a year in change experience at this point so you're correct
@Pooley929 I'm not trying to be a jerk. Im only a couple years of flying in the hobby and I used safe in the beginning. Only in the first couple planes and practice getting off safe with them and now I don't even program my planes with safe cuz you need to have trust in yourself that you can fly without it. You will get there but it should be with a top wing plane. Sorry just my opinion. Good luck
@@turbor9770 Thank you, everyones skill levels are different, due to how much fly time they get in a motor skills and probably 15 different categories I only get to fly maybe once a week for a few hours sometimes this is on a busy Saturday where the sky is pretty full and that might also limit it I'm also that guy who everybody comes to for problems so I may be working on someone's reverse thrust maybe working on their far programming maybe helping out with a several issues, but I love the group in the hobby as a whole so maybe I don't get the flight time that some do I know people that go out everyday that it's not adverse weather.
Having said that I love that videos and I see a whole lot different inflight characteristics of my flights My skill level has definitely grown, This is my first major jet I do have the 64 mm from e-flite and FMS by those all the time so I do fly jets just not this yet however I have flown this jet that would be the 16th flight so far and all of my landies were butter to this point I probably would have had a good landing this time had it not been for me being completely discombobulated with so much going on with the video as well as not having my safety net of safe to flip on and level my plane and get myself together and flip it off I understand your opinion is very harsh on safe however I love safe and don't want any of my airplanes to not have it of course it's expensive so many of them don't however I'll keep picking at it and gets better incrementally until the point where I'm comfortable I have done so already I had some aircraft that I didn't fly because I knew I wasn't ready for them now I fly them
I don't think you're a jerk sometimes things come off the wrong way and text messaging I'm good with that, If I didn't value your opinion I would not have posted a video of myself making a stupid mistake and ultimately crashing
O wow another person who is clueless about SAFE....One can fly ANY Aircraft with SAFE and do things with it YOU can NEVER do without it, That is a fact
And FYI the hardest aircraft to fly is the very ones that SAFE needs to be used in the most
It is not a crutch as many have been taught/told, in fact it is the total opposite which means INDEPENDENTLY you will never get that with any normal Rx even tho SAFE Rx does work like any other Rx IF that is what you want it to do
try doing a little research on the system and try it yourself and learn HOW to use it for your benefit and Fun, you would learn and come to know just how much better it can be
It is NOT about whether you can fly with or without it, it is about USING It to do what you will NOT do without it !!!
Who flys a jet with safe
@charlesrestivo870 that's what i said, those jets are to fast for safe
@@Mikeylikesit1968 Would all of you please check my video of the F 22 70mm Maiden flight
@@Pooley929 there not to fast it just shows what a inexperienced pilot needs .Which shouldn't be flying a jet to begin with .But hey that's the hobby enjoy
@@charlesrestivo870 Please look at my video of the maiden fight ua-cam.com/video/5XZbcmN_wXo/v-deo.html
If you rely on SAFE to land, you should not be flying jets yet. Take your time with props and when you can fly without SAFE at all, move to jets. Your wallet and nerves will be a lot happier!
@@viper527 Please check out my maiden flight I was quite comfortable I just got flustered during this flight and lost all composure I have landed this jet several times without safe as well as with safe I prefer to land with safe That is a preference If a person relies on safe though why would that be a bad thing
@@viper527 Price only lol
You need to stop talking and focus on flying!! Stop making videos until you are more proficient at flying and understanding your aircraft and your radio system. That was just equipment abuse the way you treat your transmitter. No, it’s not part of the game!! Take the time to read your transmitter manual and make sure you understand what you are doing. Then practice, practice, practice. Also ensure you aircraft is correctly configured before you
Take off. SAFE can’t help you if you don’t read the manual on how to set it up.
@@anthonygore5295 You are sooo correct I ready wanted to just fly the bird But I had no help to film plus I was testing 3 aircraft that day and my flight time is limited (silly work) so it was all rushed and with no one to help film it was worse
Just as I had pointed out earlier though I didn't do all my safety checks as I would do before every flight and that was a bus on me trying to rush it in that day.
@@anthonygore5295 I wholeheartedly agree with everything here except he can still make videos. It’s because of this video others will learn from it. I for one appreciate his willingness to show this. He owned up to it.
