The sewer map was the only thing you could play, and the models were very different. Joker looked kinda like Jared Leto’s Joker, and Batman was kinda like the Batman Begins suit. A bunch of kids lined up, waiting for their turn, like me. I was like, four back then, and it was such an astonishing experience. Once I got my hands on a copy back in, like, 2013, sometime after Arkham City came out (I already played that) and I realised that Arkham Asylum was the game I play tested so long ago. So, the Arkham Series, and especially this game, runs really deep.
If only we could have got a 1v1 fight with regular Joker no thugs and with health bars I thought we were going to get that in Origins when we fought the Joker at the end but he barely fought back
I know we got something like that in the Batgirl Arkham Knight DLC but having thugs just ruined it I wanted to be like Harley versus Batgirl and Joker versus Nightwing

i disagree if he can put up a fight in 1v1 for example if joker had faced jason todd in that abandoned underground sealed off wing of arkham asylum without hit him with crowbar or without trapped him with net etc he would have lost jason was stronger better trained and angry he would easily beat joker ass and defeat him in less than 1 min if joker could up a fight he would choose to fight him straight and not hit him behind his back like coward
The optimal Joker Predator strategy: Shoot a cop, wait for others to bunch up for a Teeth explosion, then dropkick the last cop. Love how the last guy screamed 'Man down! Man down!' right before Joker dropkicks him in the first three predator map.

Jeff Bennett as a goon in this game is so weird since he plays Joker in Brave and the Bold. It's like when Troy Baker was Bruce Wayne in Telltale Batman.
I've definitely picked up a few things from this, such as I get too focused on speed when it just makes things chaotic, I should be doing what your doing, keeping up a decent pace so I can read enemy attacks and get ready to counter them, I may be able to platinum the arkham games now thanks to you, thanks man.
To me, it's fun to watch the predator maps but it gets boring quick with combat maps. It's just more fun to play the combat challenges yourself. btw I have an Xbox 360 THE ONE CONSOLE JOKER CHALLENGE MAPS DIDNT COME ON
I don't know if you are aware of this, but when playing as joker the throw move can be used to toss a guard over the railing and into a bottomless pit. Under the freeflow counter it will say ring out when the guy falls to his death. It's one of my favorite things about playing as Joker as no character other than him does that as far as I know. Ive never managed to do it to Gordan or Aron Cash though, so those two might be impossible to throw into those areas. Everyone else is fair game as far as I know. Edit: Just played as Batman in the Asylum challenge mode for the first time in years. Wow apparently batman can do it too....
Memory serves, I was stuck on trying to do the absolute best in the sewer combat challenge for Joker. Combat's a blast in this game, but it can be a little trying at times for someone like myself. Absolutely awesome gameplay here dude; making me wanna redownload Arkham Asylum and give it another shot!
Rock steady is the master of DLCs involving characters other than Batman. Red Hood in Arkham Knight was my personal favorite, and one of the reasons I'm hyped for Gotham Knights
If only the Joker was playable in the other games. Imagine him if he utilized a wide range of gadgets and using them with advanced combat and predator challenges. I wish they also incorporated him in his own side story where he incorporates minions and runs through Gotham committing a crime, leading up to Batman’s arrival. Imagine if they made the comics into a game. Joker would ransack city hall only to be captured to start the events of Arkham Asylum. At the end, he escapes with Harley on a boat when Batman sinks it, and the duo make their way thru Arkham City. It would be fun to play as the villains in the Arkham verse.
Such a cool feautre they didn't keep in the other games. If you're fighting as Batman, the last round will always have Zaazs. If you're as Joker, it'll be Gordon. They could've had special skins to add more flavor to the combat maps.
They could have improved on the challenge modes and added more content to them like they did in Arkham City and Arkham Knight. It would have been nice to play as Joker in the other challenge modes that are exclusive to Batman in Arkham Asylym.
I forgot how much fun this was! This is the one thing Asylum has on City if anything!!! You can play as Joker. It’s the only time in the game if you laugh too much it’ll ruin your combo

People underestimate the strength of Arkham joker honestly, being able to take more than 10 hits from batman in a beatdown and taking over all of arkham asylum in a night is crazy.
I love playing as Joker in Return to Arkham Asylum. But he's not as fast as Batman, so when I'm in perfect freeflow, that one dude gets a lucky hit even when I press "Y" button😓
Every arkham game assumes joker wouldn't put up any fight whatsoever against Batman. The only times you fight him are if hes juiced on titan, hes surrounded by tons of thugs, or its a long drawn out quick time event. If joker has a plan he can kick Batmans ass. They should've made better bossfights with joker in the arkham games. There's a way to do it to make joker have the upper hand without making him a juiced up monster. Have Batman fight him like he did deathstroke. In that boss fight you dodge his gunfire and his various gadgets. Have joker go between shooting you, setting his chatter teeth on you, and finally coming at you with a knife.

If it was purely just Batman and Joker fighting hand to hand in an empty room than batman would win easily but joker knows better than that. He fights dirty and also exploits his no-killing rule to put him in moral dillemas that keep him guessing. They made Joker a playable character in both Arkham Asylum and Arkham Origins with explosive chatter teeth, a revolver, throwing cards and even a makeshift detective mode. For some reason they didn't think to use any of those mechanics in a joker boss fight. They made him basically bane in asylum, clayface with a joker disguise in city, and a long drawn out quick time event in origins. So much wasted potential. You'd think for a villain most of the games heavily rely on they'd make a more meaningful bossfight with him. They kinda tried that in Arkham knight but its all taking place within Batman's mind and it's also piss easy. The climax of the game is also the easiest bossfight by far so that's kinda shitty.

Not only that, but throughout his countless battles against Batman (tho most of them with Joker getting his ass kicked easily), Joker has learned a thing or two about hand to hand combat
Tho it's not always like that with Joker, his combat capacity varies from getting his ass kicked by anyone with basic knowledge to being dangerous with or without weapons

What I did to complete this one was I first opened the vent, then I shot someone down, and ran into the vent, and then I used the teeth.
This makes me wish that we have a fully fledge game where we could play as the Joker.
