I turned off the racing line yesterday and I am practicing every day I can, even 30 minutes. I also drive with almost no assists, only braking because of the T3PA pedals I have, and I am in the 1.21s so far at Imola and Catalunia. I will watch your videos and other E Sports drivers so I can learn. Thanks a lot for the help!
Honestly as someone who just turned off their racing line and last assist what you said is a great way to learn i legit spend hundreds to thousands of laps (upwards of 800) in the time trial mode practicing whenever i can and ive definitely not only improved from when i started but even from 3 days ago im tuning .360 tenths of a second faster if not more the only reason i know it down to the tenth is i always record the successful laps and look at both the time but also where i can do things differently
@@asv886 honestly now I turned it back on again because I never quite managed to get a good braking spot. But I am braking a few meters after it gets red and while I do follow the racing line I still brake where I know E Sports drivers brake at some tracks. I get most lap times in top 20% or something like that, I will still try no racing line that's for sure
1 addition: Do NOT fix you braking points to shadows :D I choose my breaking point in Monza at the Roggia to be the shadow of the overhead board. In a cloudy session i flew off cause there were no shadow :D
Probably a stupid question, the metre boards get dimolished by people taking them out in league races and qualifying so how would i find a different reference point?
Honestly depending on track look for the bright red enlarged kurbs ive noticed at places like bahrain they go into most corners so they are typically at least good starter references
Not a stupid question, but to help you look for the kurbs and lines on the road, colored boards , the black boxes, even trees or bilboards can be usefull , orange stewards etc
Again an lovely and really helpful guide but shadows change over time and so does the braking/turn in points if they aren’t fixed on an meter board/gravel etc or am I wrong
Thank you! Yeah definitely shadows will change over time during a race for example, so they are not the best markers to use but for qualifying if they are available I like to use them
Even when you use racing line you need to pay attention to the braking point because when you are on traffic is not easy to follow the racing line. With racing line I am good, normally 1,2 second pace behind the pros but every time that I tried to turn it off I become 2/3 second slower.
@@BrendonLeigh currently I struggle a bit but it’s many changes atm. From Logitech now to Fanatec and then also no raceline. For sure your tips helped me ^^
Braking is my biggest problem without the driving line
It’s hard. But with practice it becomes more natural
No shit
you have to pick reference point on the track, i really like that process when im learning a new track
Me too, I’m with controller also
Yeah me too

What is you experience playing without racing line at the moment bro? U get better?

Excellent video as always. I'm corner line only. But I struggle the most with no racing line.
I remember most tracks racing line but when i turn it off its nightmare, but i must accept beeing slower and do it

I never rely on shadows as i have noticed they change during the race in TT they are static as time of day stands still.
Can we learn with cockpit camera to take off the line?

Hopefully in 2 years time I can get a good console and a sim rig with a good wheel after my A-Levels.For now, this tutorial is just entertainment😅 .
This stuff still applies on controller you can still run wide on controller so its nice to learn optimal turn in points

Because you are not used to it and not comfortable with it
Tyvm for your teaching
You’re welcome! Hopefully it helped

It’s a lot better fun driving without the racing lines on all sims.
Agreed!
i can't be turn it off bc i don't have it as an option
Go to settings > Assists > Dynamic Racing line.
