I turned the RL off in F123 and persevered through the slower laps to gain time. Even on F1 24 I now can not put it back on as it slows me down soooo much (at least a second a lap). Key is to persevere, follow the tips in this great tutorial and practice, practice practice. The feeling of seeing the open track makes this much more enjoyable to race and will gain you time if you stick at it. GL all
“Start out wide, turn In towards the apex and then drift back out wide.” That’s true but you also gotta practice alternative lines, like how to take the inside line. Most people will just do the same line regardless of anyone being next to them. They always brake too late on the inside or turn in too early on the outside. Learning a track is one thing, learning to share the track and be competitive is another.
I recently turned off racing line , if i can give a small advice to people like me is that i find it easier to drive from cockpit without the line helps u understand the track better from that pov, on the other hand maybe its just me, ive tried in the past to turn it off and immidietly went back to racing line but this time i gave myself a month of practice no matter the slower lap times etc, and now im never going back to racing line.
Racing line is the only assist I run with now. Everytime I feel like i can race without it, I always find myself facing the wrong way or worse smashing into the wall 😢
I found that putting manual with suggested gears on helped as it tells you the recommended gear for that corner so you can kind of do trial and error to find the braking point.
I recently did the same I’ve had it on corners only for years but recently turned off completely just using landmarks or the speed makers as I know 90% of tracks anyway and it’s so much better and more then anything more immersive and funner. And I’m sure it will lead to better times overall too😁🏎️
Thing is the racing line is a guide, i just use it as a reference to help pick my own braking points. But i find that it so hard to really nail exact braking points in cockpit. All streamers and esports racers dont use cockpit ehich makes it easier for them but its just isnt realistic. Also theres no VR support which makes it a bit of a struggle to focus on the apex. I think if that was enabled i could drive a lot more naturally and feel for the racing rather than having to focus on marker boards. On GT7 with VR i can drive pretty smoothly, just need the same with F1 or they need to increase look to apex angle, 15° is not enough imo
Would you be able to do a video about how to drive with manual gears without the suggested gear on. I have always wanted to use no assists but I still find myself using corner lines and suggested gears
Even for beginners the racing line is only useful for hotlapping, the second anyone who's dependent on the racing line starts an actual race they become an absolute menace since they're so used to blindly following the racing line that they'll have absolutely no awareness of other drivers as they desperately attempt to get their car on the line so they can have some idea of when to brake.
What worked for me was turning it off and following the tire marks on the road, I usually brake at the 100-50 marker depending what I see on the mini map…better than remembering every mark on every turn on every track for every car in every game lol
Same i can probs get to 110 with RL but you jist dont follow it, just a guide. Now i am challenging myself without RL and on wheel, starting at 90 atm. Just ERS management with my wheel is so hard so cant keep switching modes in race as i would on controller
Hell turn off the GAME all together!!! This update ruined the frame rate the colors graphics in general!! EA RUINED another great franchise in what three yrs owning code master

Everytime I tried the racing line and I start losing times, I turn it on again. But I agree it does give a sense of immerse reality of the racing.
Just keep it on and you’ll eventually get up to pace
In general, brake at about 100 meters for heavy braking. 50 for light braking

I only use Racing line in Monaco, Baku and for me the new tracks Las Vegas and Katar

Can you make a video of how you should start the race (when the 5 red lights go out)?
Thanks this really helps

You've gotta listen to the gears!... Learning to short shift helps with traction as well.
Already done my friend ua-cam.com/video/dd19iWmmZjU/v-deo.html
I recently turned them off and found more speed after learning the later braking points and faster corner speeds.
Absolutely! I strongly believe you can be faster without it. It doesn’t always show the fastest way through a turn
I only switch it on when I need to stay on the racing line in training
Never use destructible markerboards as brake reference as the get destroyed sometimes!
You're a legend

Beautiful ❤❤❤
Playing after the patch and its unplayable. Traktion on full and im turning arround in corners like i would have it off….. stupid this patch….

Almost 110 AI with racing line.
Sounds like you can get away with turning it off to add to the challenge!

Just don‘t use it from the beginning!
