hi, hey, can you tell me what's your take on traps and set-ups on dungeons, also i never quite understood all the rules on posions . if you can shine some light upon the matter it will be rlly aprecciated
You bet. This sounds fun. I have actually considered doing some Q&A videos. I have already started researching poisons. They are a part of the game that I have not used very often and definitely want to find out more about them. I hope to have a video out within the next few weeks. :) I will also do a video about traps. With regards to your question on traps and set-ups: Do you just want to know how I use traps? Do I like using them in my campaign? how often do I use them? what kind of traps do I use? That sort of thing? Thank you for the awesome feedback. Hope to hear back from you soon! :)
i think of them more as a dm tool than a player typical arsenal almost all of them are too expensive for low level parties, and kind of useless in the later game. Btw, each time a contact posion makes .... contact... do you need to make the save even if you succeded on a previous save, 'couse some of the poison on animals and monsters says that you're innmune to further affects&effects of posions. so is it the same for the poisons once you make them or buy them or otherwise obtained as a more concectrated way?. srry for the long post.
Make your posts as long as you want. no worries. :) I may do a series of videos about poison... From what I read, poisons are usually looked down upon by most communities and mostly considered an evil act. BUT, If you have a player wanting to use poisons, maybe he/she is frequently hired to infiltrate the lairs and organizations of mob bosses or cults. Taking out bad guys or enemy nobles without causing war. Game sessions, quests, and campaigns could also exist where the player would need to adventure to find knowledge or materials to make poisons. For contact, the way I read it, is yes... every time a PC comes in contact with a poison, they need to make a saving throw. Regardless of whether or not they already made a successful save. Continued contact and Failed Saving throws will "stack" which raises the saving throw DC and the duration of the effects. Of course, if an animal or monster description clearly states that immunity is derived after a successful saving throw vs their poison, then yes, I suppose they could have some type of resistance. If you have an example of this, let me know. I'd like to include it in my video. :) Hope this information helps. Great conversation, I am learning a lot and actually have come up with some good ideas on using poisons. :)
i, never rly tougth about whats society thinks of posions, but its a good take. thx about the contact aclaration. On to other things, what do you think about snadbox campaings?, I'm having trouble 'couse there's a lot of side quests and ideas that i have in mind, they'be come to be so many of them. It started as my own ''world'' its a year now in the making. and it has come pretty good, and quiete a bunch much BIGGER than i thougth hahaha. there's so much material that i want to integrate onto this history, and have some trouble keeping ''coherence'' in a world so full of magic... ( i should had told you before that im usin a mix of pathfinder and 3.5..... and some spells frome magic compendium 3.0. they have some ''little dm's gifts'' wich are not so little. a pathfinder monk with exaltedfeats acces, and a magus with 3.0 spell compendium access, so ... lotsa magic lot of riddles, and misteries and ''fog of war'' powerfull casters and great magical beast both in the highest peaks of silvercrown mountain (local map), in the dessert, forests, seas, and underground caves and ruins. Sorry again for the long scroll ;), i rly hope u dont mind me asking me so many questions.
Sounds like a fun campaign... I never played 3.5, but I picked up Pathfinder a year ago and love it. I hear they are very similar. I love Sandbox campaigns, although I do tend to push players towards fulfilling quests, subquests, tasks, and accomplishing their goals or fulfilling their character's ambitions. I recommend writing the quests you give the characters on notecards. One for you to keep and give one to the players. Once they fulfill a quest, they can hand it back to you in exchange for XP or other reward. Also, for sandbox, when I make a dungeon map, I make sure it can be used as a dungeon, castle, temple, or any other area. That way, no matter where the players go, I already have the map... just not the location. Thanks again for great conversation!
I like these spotlights a lot. Gives me some great ideas for my campaign.
Thank you for the great feedback Tom! Good to know that you can pull ideas from the spotlight videos! :)
