I never tasted apple butter as delicious as my grandmother's recipe. She had a tree that grew, what our family here in the South called, "Hackworth" apples. Her tree died shortly after she did, but we made many jars of apple butter, pies, and applesauce. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
My Mommy used to make Apple butter . She never peeled the apples. It was so sweet and good. We had it for Breakfast on Sundays with Biscuits and slices of Ham and redeye gravy. Cheese and eggs and sausage. Boy I want to make some now. Moms was a little chunky; small bits of caramelized apples that melted in your mouth. I would serve it for my breakfast and probably with bone in pork chops. Have you ever had Smoked Porkchops. Now that would be really good. Tfs .💖 Brought back wonderful memories. 🥰
REAL "traditional" is how my family would make it, in a bit copper kettle over an outdoor fire. My mom's 4 sisters would all come over to help. They'd pare the apples by the bushel, adding the water and spices - constantly stirring. It was Sooooooo good! I've never found any apple butter that was as good as what they made!
I have a black and white picture of my great grandma making apple butter in a huge cauldron in her front yard with a paddle while my grandpa stands by smoking and watching.
I love apple butter I haven't had it for about two years it was store bought of course and not that good, then I bought some from a older woman I assumed she made it herself it was just ok. I didn't know how easy it was to make apple butter. Thank you Mathew for sharing 💕
What kind of crockpot is that plezz?I like it,I defintly like it with toast but u now got me to thinking of a glazed turkey loin or breast ,chicken even.
You know you could make Apple jelly with the cores so don't throw it out like that... freeze them until you have enough cores and make apple jelly but with thye amount you were doing...you have enough to make jelly

Oh yes! My gram used to make this all the time with the apples from her apple trees. I love it on homemade biscuits.

What are the measurements?
Cream of wheat, oat meal , toast
For the IP - you must use at least 1 cup of liquid otherwise you'll get the burn message and it won't work.
Could I not just replace your solution with simple applesauce?
Can you make this with apple sauce and spices?
Don't think so
Where do I go to find recipe? The video doesn't give exact measurements. Thank you
Always mention ingredients with measurements.

Can you write the recipe down please
