Catching MULLET in the RAIN - They love CHICKEN

Fish sometimes bite best in the worst weather. That's what happened in this session on the Maribyrnong River at Flemington.
We only used one bait but turned it into 3 baits by dipping it in special flavourings that really got the fish biting.
Mullet love chicken and there was plenty of action in this session...but this doesn't mean they are easy to catch. We got bites galore but hooking the fish was another matter.
The best thing to do is hold your rod and strike as soon as you feel movement in you line. When we did this we had more success.
After a few hours session we had 8 or 9 keepers. We'd returned many small mullet and bream and were pretty happy with the action we had.
