Goblin Wars was one of those mechanics Oblivion introduced, and it seems cool, but also it's super buggy and obscure that by the time you might find a cave or two on your own, you're probably outpacing the goblins by a good deal. And even if it's going to work in your game it's such an obscure mechanic you wouldn't know you can start the wars without a guide
I just did this quest yesterday. Went and slaughtered the entirety of both goblin factions and stole both totem skulls, then sold them at the nearest pawn shop. Sometimes tamriel can have a lil' shock and awe as a treat 🤌
I keep them in my favorite storage space: the hollowed-out tree stump in the market district. Shame the goblin wars mechanic doesn't work, watching numerous goblin tribes invade the Imperial City at once would be hilarious.
@@beck-nightengale Well, I ment the paintbrush item. As it has no drop mechanic, it floats when you do drop one. It also has collision, so you can stand on it. So, you can gather many paintbrushes, build a staircase with them outside the Temple of the One, then fall through the roof of it, to access a hidden door. This door leads to the final part of escorting Martin to the temple and finish the main story. All due to paintbrushes.
@@ButteryGoodnessINC Oh jesus. The fact that people have done this in practice - gathered paintbrushes to climb and reach that area just because they could - leaves me eternally impressed with the dedication some gamers have to breaking the games they play. I love it.
Oblivion is peak escapism for me...the medieval high fantasy thing is just perfect, greatest OST...I'm a huge fan of old-school MTG, and this is like the video game version in a lot of ways. Skyrim just didn't do it for me, I don't mean to make it a competition, but it was just night and day where I'm coming from
Prefers cost effective iron armor. Fights with various weapons depending on the situation. Never misses a chance to light a torch. Often declines people asking for help but then helps them anyway. Your character was Goblin-Slayer all along!
I love this. I've played the game since I was a kid (I even have a tattoo on my wrist of the logo), and thanks to your videos I'm STILL discovering quests I haven't played somehow. Such an underrated game ❤
I remember playing this quest on my first playthrough in '06, I stole the staff and would randomly get attacked by goblins no matter where I was. My dumbass thought my game was bugged but never realized I had the staff in my inventory for the rest of the game 😂
Thank you for doing this quest. Though, I did not know that you could restart the goblin war. I do like that quest. I like seeing Cropsford developing.

my uncle's friend once invited me over to slay some goblins in his back garage but when I went there one grabbed me from behind & a couple goblins pulled down my pants. The rest I don't talk about 😭
I’ve only done this quest once and never found it again on any of my other play throughs and though I may have misremembered it and confused with a different quest or game entirely
I’m thinking of doing with both options doing a little role-playing perhaps wiping out both the actions of goblins would make the area peaceful and safe for them to prosper and thrive and throughout my gameplay i’m kind of playing a golden hunter build so I’m wiping out all the goblins I can find since they’re quite thick in the area especially around skingrad.
Its hinted that goblins are the devolved from altmer akin to the falmer of skyrim(snow elfs). Thats why some goblins have magical properties even in death.
I remember this Quest I was just completing all 200 quests inside quest in Oblivion just checking off the list and I saw this in the gaming guide the prime gaming guide as one of the miscellaneous quests along with Ford farragut and all that and I came across it and I thought these look like just random NPCs on the Road Notting realise that there was a quest tied to them and all you had to do was still a staff or clear one tribe out and then when I did it they told me to come back in a month when they're settlement is complete and I thought wow this is a curious and peculiar Quest as a miscellaneous Quest and I thought well it's a good experience just I was going through the game and clearing out all the quest I haven't done trying to 100% the game
This is the only time I have been surprised with a quest in vanilla oblivion that I havent done/don't remember ever doing it. Very nice
I'm running out of patience with Barthel.
I’ve heard others say the same.
You too.
Be seeing you.
Auuurghhh
I'm glad to see that you've returned to your true roots, Oblivion, the one and only.

There are mods that make it far easier and less buggy, thankfully.

When I read the title, I assumed it was the paint brush. The magical, floating paint brush that you can use to end the game from the beginning.
I assumed it was the Staff of the Everscamp. I've watched playthroughs of Oblivion, but I've never seen the completed version of that settlement.
Oh man, I remembered exactly which quest you're talking about. I had no idea it could end the game early?

I love how your player character is always so damn polite. :D
This is why oblivion is still my favorite elder scrolls. The quests are so good.
Indeed, Oblivion is many things but it is never boring for long. It's a weird, wacky world.

There's a mod that adds the goblin war and that totem staff to all goblin tribes, and you can steal them all and make the biggest goblin war ever seen
Unbelievable!
15:49 "...that we can't help but feel sorry for", he said taking dead captive's 20 gold off of his corpse.

Oblivion was released in march and Skyrim in november. So it can quite literally be night and day. Or rather day and night ;)
You're channel is *chefs kiss* when it comes to oblivion videos.
I don't think I ever did this quest, or even came across it in my numerous playthroughs of Oblivion.
I remember clearing the camp but never returned to see it built.... Kinda feel dumb now XD
Love all the new content
Thank you!
Goblins?! *Cries out in dismay* Itll take Hours to take care of them! She's right, we should just go.
“Let’s not do anything hilarious”
I love this quest. The development to the building over time is awesome
God, you just know how to make my whole day❤❤❤
Aww,... UA-cam blocked my Anakin Skywanker quote 😖
Very personal experience based with this quest, but I guess too graphic for this tame platform 🤣🤣🤣
The CURES OF GOBLIN DIS NUTS,,
Just want to commend the response bits that make the npc dialogue seem so real.
Man I love your content. Long live Oblivion
Take a drink every time goblins
Funny you say that. There are drunk Goblins in Oblivion
lol! I'll keep an eye out!
This series is just fantastic
Everything in Cropsford was great, until the Fire Nation goblins attacked....
Take a drink every time someone says goblin(s) or Cropsford
i can hear preston Garvey salivating for the opportunety to help a settlement! or tell his boss that he/she needs to help said settlement
Sounds like the people at the start want someone to slay their goblin problem.

I enjoy this so much! Amazing content, best wishes to you and your future projects! 🌻
Wow I never discovered this quest. Been playing this game since I can remember!
Isn't it strange how fast travel can rob you of some encounters??
I could have sworn I did this quest with Martin following once and he reacted to it saying how its a good thing we're helping
15:49 "and even a fresh orc captive, that we can help but feel sorry for" *says as he loots the dead body*
Hey, we all need septims & he won't miss em 😉

Goblins?.. *starts laughing maniacally* GOBLINS?!
For some reason i think the thumbnail looked like sunny smiles
I can only think of Goblin Slayer Abridged because of the introduction clip omg lmao
@DarkLOREDash I'm back, I couldn't keep away. Ive come across a lot of youtubers and yours by far outshines most. Why arent you bigger?

That's actually badass
*thank you
where'd you get that? afaik Goblins lived in the Summerset Isles long before the Altmer showed up and started driving them out...

I hope that in Beyond Skyrim cropsford is a bigger town
Freindly and helpful then "I'm through talking to you."
...How rude.
Classic Oblivion dialogue.
no matter how many i collected of these shaman staffs, no goblins ever spawned inside the city or in my houses. kinda disappointing.
You need the one from this quest specifically, not just a random shaman staff
@@ivanferlan8459 damn it. they all looked the same to me.
I go in and get rid of ✨all✨the goblins when I play through 😌
As it should be 😁
Alois is a photoshop gone wrong.
Staff of everscamp?
Huy Am not dum am hard heded
Is this a lore series or are you really just a dm secretly disguising himself as q lets player?
How Many reloads does it take to get coherent npc dialogue.
Wasn't this the quest where you could talk the goblins down? Or was that in Skyrim?
Yeah, it was Skyrim.
I like how this video has 6,666 views (at the time of me watching it).
Dark Lore Dash posted, my day is going to be amazing
Why didn't you deliver it to another tribe just to see what really happens? ;-)
I can only ask why games of today cannot match this quality? The human race is devolving into a spiral of mental decrepitude.
