VIDEO SUGGESTION: Hi Preach. I love these learning videos. I've been watching and going back over my basics. Keep up the great work!! My suggestion is a video to train casters and healers to RUN TO THE TANK when they pick up aggro. Learning this especially as a healer certainly made my life easier. I am sure you have seen as I have, that when some casters/healers pick up a mob they panic and run around like a chicken or just stand there and get hit. I didn't know what to do in this situation until someone told me; Dude.. just take it to the tank. After a bit of conscious training it became second nature to run into melee and aggro drop whenever I picked something up. As a priest I would fade. Works like a charm :)
Thanks for the video again! I know melee dps is usually different because you mostly have instant cast abilities. However, the closest tip that I think should be brought up is: you can move during your ability's animation. I have no idea if this is completely obvious for newer players, but it looks like the kind of thing that may not be intuitive. As soon as you press the button, you can move. It's especially good to know for long animations, like Rampage on Fury Warriors. Even if your character is swinging their arms around, you don't need to wait for the animation to be done to move.
Could you do a video on positioning? Good positioning is, as a healer, one of the biggest clues that someone knows what they're doing when i see them play. Standing in a position to maximise their damage and minimise their damage taken. For example, if you know a boss or a pack will have to move in a certain direction you can move ahead of it to get more time hard casting. Things like standing in healing rain or standing close to help healers out on high group damage fights, and spreading out before a quaking happens, not during the cast, or you can move on your terms during your iinstant casts so that you don't lose dps.
Even if melee is alot easier to move and do damage, I think a video about that could also be useful. "why run to the left, away from the boss to avoid a frontal that just change direction, walk through the boss and turn around" Also run out last possible second and step/charge/horse/fel rush back in. Was also missing: What abilities can you cast to make you able to move fast? Shamans have a 2min CD that makes you able to cast on the move?? I dunno if that is useful, but was something I thought about. Keep up the good work! It's great. Even as a "decently good player" it's always good to read up on basics. For me it was maybe 10% new stuff I learned from this video. And that is still 10%!

You should also mention that strafe running is better than backpedaling. I learn this from Swifty when he used to be WoW heavy, backpedaling is actually really bad for movement its better to strafe not only because its faster but you can avoid getting dazed by strafing. My S key now functions as keybind for abilities and my backpedaling is completely unbound.

Personal preference because everyone has their own playing styles based on their past experiences with PC gaming (and keyboards), finger length, hand size, handedness, and even injury. There's a reason there are like ten different 12-button MMO mouses on the market today, and even then, not everyone uses one. I mean, there will absolutely be moonkins watching this who don't pick Stellar Drift because of something they have seen on Icy Veins etc. or aren't using Starfall to cast on the move.
And what is Balance casting when it doesn't have the required Lunar Power for Starfall..? they're casting Wrath, Starfire and refreshing DoTs, they're stutter stepping; what Preach mentions still applies. Also worth noting that Starfall with that talent only lasts 10 seconds, so while allowing full freedom of movement it's at the cost of almost 2 Starsurges every 10 seconds, which is a notable loss of damage especially in the context of movement since Starsurge is instant cast.

Personal preference because everyone has their own playing styles based on their past experiences with PC gaming (and keyboards), finger length, hand size, handedness, and even injury. There's a reason there are like ten different 12-button MMO mouses on the market today, and even then, not everyone uses one.
All you can do is find the play style that works best for you and refine the hell out of it. If someone suggests something different, give it a go and see if it works.
@@zenspeed404 One of my guildies performs extremely well just using an xbox controller
But whats the most optimal movement while your face down tho?
This is why I play assassination rogue. just right the click the boss and go afk.
Guild name for next Drama: The pooffers
You want me to move while performing? Mate i can hardly even do it lying still. - Oh wait you mean in game? yeah thats ok fine.
Please if anyone sees this me and my best friend played from vanilla till second patch of BFA before our guild exploded is the game worth coming back for please be brutally honest.
im legit too distracted by your hair to listen properly, holy fuck haha
movement as melee:
1) Don't stand in bad shit
2) Stand in soak shit
3) Throw insults at tank for moving or not moving the boss
no
@@hristopavlov298 what do you mean "no"? tanks like being on the receiving end, thats why they are tanks. Therefore you cant slap them, they'd just moan. To reach their soul (cant really reach a tanks brain, thick skull) you need to really really really hurt them. Tell them their dog doesn't love them or something. You need to kill the tanks masochist boner to make them move the boss correctly.
Maybe a "basics with preach" questing? ;)
Why would you need help questing?
@@Sharkofspace I don't, thinking for my girlfriend.. maybe a quick video or so she could look at alone would help!
@@emilgebl8644 Help with what? Just press an ability that does damage and the mobs die. There's literally nothing to learn.
Thor: "All words are made up!". Mike: "Stutter-Step"
Showing a Boomie from Limit who can literally cast while moving because of Starfall is not the best example to showcase as a clip xD
Of course it is a good example!
"don't include that"
The ABCs of casters Always Be Casting
Does this apply to BM hunters too?
*laughs in BM*
"Don't include that." lol....
Stutterstepping. Hmm
Play a hunter in TBC and you will learn this faster then you can imagine.
I'm serious. Make a lvl 1 Hunter on TBC.
Do following:
Kill mobs with Auto shot only = Instantly learn stutterstepping.

A dummies guide to scraping the barrel, c'mon Blizz give the man some content, please. (Edit: as some people got the wrong end of the stick) The lack of WoW content, apart from pushing players to other games. is really tough on content creators, it's a great video, but not what I'm used to from Preach.
You'd be shocked at how many people don't know stuff like this.
@@VladiMatt I wouldn't
@Joe Schmoe sorry Joe but you got my post all wrong, nothing to do with shaming people, but Preach doing a video like this is like having a top chef teach you how to make toast. Without new players, there'd be no more WoW, this was more about shaming Blizzard if you want to spin my comment as a negative.
Your hair isn't playing nice with your green screen lol
I'm sorry but I am not watching this video as I already know how to move. It's by pressing W.
Why is every fucking comment section these days filled with nothing but memes and "ironic" shit?
you wont lose dps while moving, laughs in mm hunter
I mean... BM hunter is even better with that

Preach, we know you love the game, but you gotta take it out back and shoot it, it's suffering.
wtf is wrong with you?
@@TheSomeRocks A lot, but this will help people once the devs start releasing content again. In that, preach does give out some informative content, I just wish he'd branch out into other mmos.
