And is near the bottom of the meters anyway, as is often the case. Bad players don't use all their abilities. A good player will do great damage and deal with raid mechanics at the same time. A decent player will deal with raid mechanics and do middling damage. I'll take a middling DPS over one who won't dispel any day.
Play a warlock. Devour (offensive dispel) and Singe (friendly magic dispel) are both off the GCD and can be casted along with other spells since they're pet abilities.
#suggestion You should do a Basics on Making Friends. It seems like so many people's problems with Warcraft come from not having friends in game and not being sure how to make them. Your content on finding guilds is great, but for casual players just being the type of person that others want to play with can go a long long way. And it's just as useful for people in guilds to remember to be friendly and interact with the people they raid with.
I've been using the Addon called Decursive for many years now.. creates a small see-trough square for each player in party or raid (including pets) and if somebody gets a debuff you can dispell it makes a noise and the square becomes red (or blue if you have multiple dispells like pets) you click the square and boom person is dispelled. It takes up barely any space on the UI plus it's see-trough 90% of the time, apart from positioning doesn't need any set up. Never had issues with dispelling, works for every class/spec/role.
I agree with you,I used decursive in classic and makes it easy to dispel.I used to use tell me when if a magic debuff appeared, but you still have to look and who has it.decursive in a party of 5 gives you 5 boxes if someone has a debuff that certain box will light up,just click the box and it’s dispelled.it’s so much easier then having a macro

Dispels by class: Magic: all healers, all priests (Mass Dispel), warlock Imp Disease: all priests, all monks, all paladins Curse: all mages, all shamans, all druids Poison: all monks, all paladins, all druids Offensive (often called purge after the shaman ability): all shamans, all priests, all mages (steals the buff, read the buff before stealing it), demon hunters, warlock Felhunter, all blood elves, all hunters Soothe/Enrage Dispel: All druids, all hunters This list does not include spells like Cloak of Shadows or Stoneform, which apply only to the caster.
" all mages (steals the buff, read the buff before stealing it)" So many times watching mages drop dead right as we pull pride before hakkar because they spell steal the spirits :D
I end up using Plater nameplates and a Weak Aura to let me know when something can be dispelled on an enemy. The two toons I play the most are a DH and warlock. I end up purging so much being able to visible see what is an aura, buff, etc. I think there are many times when players just don't recognize what is going on because their interface isn't setup to give them the information they need. For my Druid and Rogue I have a very distinct placement on the nameplates so I know when they are enraged for the same purpose. Having great nameplate setups goes a long ways toward helping identify what is exactly happening with an enemy.
As DPS i have the mindset where if something needs to be dispelled, and i can dispel it, I will dispel it. Healers could be healing you up in the time it takes to dispel, so if you are low HP and you expect the healer to dispel, you are going to die
I would use this: #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover,help,exists] Dispel;Dispel What this does is allows for mouseover dispels IF you can help the thing you're mousing over. If you have no mouseover, you dispel yourself.
Slight correction/clarification: The second Dispel uses that ability on your target, so if you have a friendly as your target it will try to dispel them and if you have an enemy as your target it will do nothing. You need to have autoselfcast enabled (which it is by default, I think) for it to dispel yourself, otherwise the macro would have to look something like "/use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player]Dispel". You can also use "[]" after the first condition, making the ";dispel" unnecessary, you also want to use "nodead" instead of "exists". Knowing that "/use [@mouseover,help,exists][]Dispel" also works can come in handy once your macros get to long, due to being e.g. help/harm.
@@Opharg nice. exactly what i was looking for. had issues with a help/harm macro and i couldn't self heal without targeting myself. edit: actually, just tested it and my harm part of the macro no longer works. this is what i'm using: /use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player] healing surge; [harm] lava burst healing surge works fine, but if i target a dummy, it still casts healing surge instead of lava burst. edit 2: ok i swapped lava burst to be first, and it works now. /use [@target,harm,exists] lava burst; [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player] healing surge edit 3: OK. Issue with the one above is that it casts lava surge if i'm targeting an enemy and ignores mouseover which could be quite annoying having to switch to a friendly target or esc til no target to cast healing surge. So to fix this: /use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead] healing surge; [harm, nodead] lava burst; [@player] healing surge
Heyhey. Pls stop with this advanced stuff on the basic guide. I, myselfe, use the advanced macros, but the basic one is by far enogh for new dispellers and having a wall of text, most of it you don't understand, just for one action will put them off on even trying it. So stay basic and let them figure out, that they want/need something a bit more dedicated, when they have a little more experience :)
@@DereineBrotmann we explained how it works. It's not an advanced macro what so ever. The macro Preacher posted is a little to simple. If you use Preachers macro, you will have to mouse over EVERYTHING you want to dispel. If you use the macro lister above, you don't have to mouse over yourself. That makes a HIFE difference in QOL for tanks and DPS players.
Vuhdo has an excellent one click dispell / purge options in its bars option & I have an add on that puts it into chat/party so if anyone’s unaware I’m healing / helping the help as DPS, hopefully they become aware.
Also important, can we please agree on just calling offensive dispells "purge"? It makes communication much easier and avoids misunderstandings. Thank you.
5:10 One thing to note, Mouseover macros like the one shown on screen don't work for mouse buttons, so if you want your cleanse to be mouseover and bound to a mouse button, you need to download an addon such as Clique.
@@EdyGlockenspiel Ech... I'm getting jumbled up by the weird terminology preach used in the video. Who has EVER said defensive and offensive dispels? Anyway, I meant dispelling as opposed to purge/soothe, as I figured that was why you called out healers, mages and warlocks :) Tangent: I think preach wanted to make up a fancy new terminology that wasn't engrained in the community to help new players, but instead he made it damn confusing and old players won't change their lingo anyway, so a new player wouldn't know about purge/soothe anyway, since it wasn't mentioned in this video
You just have missed the point I think, healers always dispel, it's dpsers and tanks that must learn how to, and also it's not only mages and locks. If you play warrior for example you can remove immunity from mobs [Shattering Throw].
Definitely preach it! Underused for so long. I remember people needing an addon just to know to use dispel in vanilla, but that was 2004. Now a days it saddens me when I feel the need to dispel people playing the same class as me in Plaguefall because they're almost dying to the rain dot when there's not even anything to fight. I guess DPS just figure it's the healer's job and they don't have abilities like that...
They don't have the abilities on bars. Hardly see a mage with decurse and if you ask hunter for tranquil shot, he in 90% doesn't even know what that is.
A big thing I've noticed in basic guides is a dps focus. Any more healer oriented basics would probably be appreciated for the players who don't want to dps but are starting out
Thing is, dps represents the largest chunk of the community and healers can also use these - such as keeping track of missed interrupts. Anyway dispelling is still primarily a healer thing.
@@ScorpionP2C Alright, dude I hope you're okay. You seem to be a little passive aggressive... I'm gonna address the two replies you've made to my comments... First, I said dispelling is "primarily" a healer thing, not exclusively - as a tank main I do dispel a bunch to help the team. And that's a segue into the second thing; calling it "offensive and defensive" dispelling. You're honestly going "offensive dispel that mob"? I understand calling it dispel in a flash, but I don't hear anyone saying offensive dispel in stead of purge. Anyway, I just replied since you came off as a bit disruptive in otherwise civil conversations, but I'm honestly content with my progress and mostly play with friends, so I wouldn't say I'm "failing" :)
awesome thanks for the video. i understand slightly better now. i had to research my own class and racial ability to see what it does and just learned it was a dispel. i came to wow during WoD
Also this, like the other basics, are SUPER useful in literally ANY version of wow you are playing. From classic all the way to retail. I am currently playing on a wrath private server and all of these things are relevant, always have been and always will be.
5:10 careful if you want to bind that ability to your standard mouse side buttons or mousewheel. If you want to dispell someone via mouseovering their group unit frame, the macro won't work unless you rebind those mousebuttons to other buttons as somehow the mousebuttons are still defacto bound to mouseclick in WoW for whatever reason.
I really really agreed on your situation inside the Necrotic Wake with the fear skeleton, with my recent pugs Ive played Shaman healer, and I've pre-cast Tremor Totem just in case someone missed the interrupt and o'boy has that been helpful.
If you’re using standard wow ui and is in a party. The icon of Your party member Will have a purple outlining If They have a debuff on them that you can remove
Mouseover macro's are incredible. I'll add that you can have ones that perform two alternate actions. Priests for example can dispell offensively and defensively... you can place them in one macro that will switch depending on what your mouse is hovering over. #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover, help, nodead] GoodSpell /cast [harm]BadSpell; GoodSpell
It should not be needed after this video but maybe you take a few situations in different dungeons and show: "This happens. What classes can deal with it?" Maybe make it into a quiz? Could be fun.
Dispelling... ooh i know this one! This is where i sit in ghost form in a populated area and wait for my addon to tell me someone with worldbuffs is nearby, so i can rez, get in a few dispells and then immediately die again. PvP is so easy man, i got like 50 buffs last darkmoon faire, arena is going to be a cakewalk!
Couple extras: 1. Decursive is still an amazing way to deal with dispels, esp if you have multiple ways to defensively dispel. 2. Mages, Spellsteal is OP but be careful not to take certain debuffs like the old Zul shades or the shield in NW. 3. Sometimes enrages are beneficial as they take extra dmg, an example being the first pull of ToP.
While this sounds more sour than i intend it to be i have to say i greatly admire Preach' for his conviction and persistence in making this type of content in a time where the games' greatly influenced by what is happening in the company behind it. People like preach will keep the flamebearers to better times of this game again:)
The second step to knowing when or where debuffs happen is knowing exactly what it is you're dispelling. I was levelling my priest not too long ago, I don't normally heal but I was dungeon levelling as Holy. We get to the last boss of Necrotic Wake and he roots one of the dps. I immediately dispel it as I had been for everything else in the dungeon thus far. Now instead of one person in the all melee group rooted it's three. Incoming Comet Storm. My bad.
Hehe, I remember back in uldir, we were short on people who could dispel on Zul, so we assigned a mage to do it. We had a few wipes, not knowing why he kept dying until we noticed that the shields killed him when they ended, so spellstealing them was basically suicide.
Nothing drives me more nuts than when healing a Paladin tank is poisoned or diseased, someone else has a magic debuff, etc., he could cleanse himself so I could cleanse someone else, but they don't do it. When I'm tanking I typically have more dispels than anyone else in the dungeon combined. Sometimes I swear there are Mages that forget they have remove curse. Hopefully this spreads the word.
Weakauras is a godsend. I've set up auras on every toon so if something appears on me or my target it'll let me know I 1. Am able to dispell 2. My dispell is off cd. Seriously using weakauras to it's full potential feels like I'm cheating sometimes.
side note: "/use[@mouseover,help,nodead][@player] Defensive dispel spell name;" - this will dispel on mouseover on friendly raid/party frames and if you are not mouseovering it will dispel your character. Very handy in PVE and PVP. And as dps. "/use[@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Offensive dispel spell name; " this will dispel on mouseovering enemy and if you are not mouseovering it will dispel your target. Very handy on pve and pvp and in cases where you need to prioritize dispell when too many units have a buff in your visibility. Blood elves racial arcane torrent is an offensive AOE dispel with 2min cd. Very useful for dispelling a bunch of mobs offensively in one gcd (they need to be relatively stacked). Practical example, Plaguefall dungeon green slime stack before the first boss. Just go in, use the arcane torrent and come out (after tank has aggro).
Guardian Druid here ... I appreciate you man. The amount of times I "have to" decurse mages in my groups gives me serious classic-flashbacks. I even had some dying to a curse and blaming me/the healer - when asked why they didn't decurse themselves I got stuff like "My job is to dps, not do your job" ... Not all mages ofc, but some are real asshats :
I hate that removing a positive effect on a enemy and removing a negative effect from yourself has the same name. Imo you dispell yourself but you purge enemies
Its based off the Priest ability 'Dispel Magic' and 'Mass Dispel' (added later) which could be used on both the raid and enemies. Priests were the de facto healers in Vanilla WoW so the name stuck back then already. Shamans were Horde specific so 'Purge' wasn't as popular a term for dispelling enemies.
One of the most obvious examples of this I can think of is the rat trash in the sewers right after Huntsman. Doesn't matter how many times you tell the raid 'monks, paladins, priests can cleanse the disease stacks, please assist' you still see people sucking wind with 30 stacks. Mind you, this is LFR, but it's a great current example.
You can macro feather to auto cast at your feet and have a mod if you want to share it #showtooltip /cast [mod:shift,@cursor][@player][] angelic feather. Not to be nitpicky but as a priest main watching u use feather that way hurt
I main holy/shadow priest and I primarily heal keys. It bugs me SO DAMN MUCH that I can’t decurse and when you see that mage/shaman just standing there doh g nothing about it … so frustrating. So yea, I know that feeling, god is my witness I do know that feeling. Great video tho 👌
I play mage and have been since start. but one of my best time trolling in raids was in Wrath playing my protpalla, the stack arcane mages got from casting arcane blast was a dispellable debuff so dispelling that stack and while they where clueless about why the dmg they did was so low
I think the real crime here isn't mages not decursing, its running holy word Salvation in a dungeon XD tisk tisk Preach LOLjk as always great video! This series is super helpful and honestly should be in exiles reach
Nice vid and useful but sort of shocked you didnt mention decursive. Its been around since vanilla and its smart casted/one click that goes off your class. Defensive only but way better than other options for that imo.
ADDON: ImpliedTarget Removes the need to create mouse over macros, everything is now configured for mouse over, DOTs, offensive spells, heals, anything can now be set to contextually be mouse over.
For some reason the last time I typed this it didn't seem to save, and if youtube is playing me and this comment ends up coming up twice, I apologise now. When it comes to the dispel macro, you may want to use this instead: #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover, exists, help] [exists, help] [self] {spell name} This means that your dispel ability will target your mouseover target, then your current target, and then yourself. The "exists" and "help" terms add a very simple check for your macro to decide if it will cast the spell. Exists means "if you have it", so if your mouse cursor isn't over a target, it will skip it and check the next targeting priority, in this case your current target. "Help" adds the qualifier that the target must be friendly, and if it isn't it will go to the next target priority. So, if your mouse cursor is over an enemy it will simply ignore it, and check your current target. The "self" term is on its own and simply means it will try to cast it on yourself. Honestly I don't remember if you need it to be [@self] or if [self] is sufficient, but it's easy enough to check. If you want to use this kind of macro for offensive spells, and want it to check if you're targeting an enemy rather than a friendly target, replace "help" with "harm", the rest of the syntax is the same. If you want to get really fancy and add other targeting priorities to your abilities such as [@focus] (whatever is set as your current focus) and [@targettarget] (whatever your current target is targeting), remember that targeting priorities are read from left to right, then top to bottom, and always in that order.
I basically never expect dps to dispel or purge. The amount of times I've had both a shaman and a mage at the Echelon fight but nobody dispels curse is insane. Expect your dps to be utterly incompetent and youll never be disappointed.

It's something that I struggle with a lot.

Please consider doing these videos with a more default UI so I can point newer players at it, having a total ui replacement with elvui and weakauras makes wow look so different. I beg you please consider it, right now the visual aspect of this video is useless.
It shows on the raid frame the same way it does in ElvUI and most other addons. If they aren't seeing them. Press ESC and go to "Interface" then down to "Raid Profiles." Put a check in "Display Debuffs" and if they only want to see ones they can personally dispel check "Display only dispellable debuffs."

0:37 Lies, damned lies, and cooldowns. As a Healer I have to say, it isnt just a global cooldown, but also a 5 second cooldown on the spell itself. A fact, i curse in almost every Dungeonrun atleast once.
TL;DR: Long rant about dispels and interrupts. I'm not perfect at it myself yet, but doing what i can in the different dungeons. Rant Part starts now.... I main a monk tank with a bear tank on the side. I usually tell my healers when im on my monk, never dispel Poison and Disease effects off me. I will usually do it myself. Just focus on the dps and themselves. And most healers love me for it. Same for the drood Curse and Poison = No problem. Enrage? Kek that's gone. First boss of ToP the melee mortal strike girl Shield at 30% for 40% of her hp. Welp I dont want her chasing my friends, deenraged go back to slapping my drood in the skull. Like Mike said there is so many applications for both types of dispell. Even Spellsteal, bis ass shield on an enemy? Now that shield is on ur mage making them tankier and the enemy left to cry. I believe Curse dispells are Mage Drood and Shammy, looking at u Fire Mages, Convokekins and Fat Dave making earthquakes shammy (Dave is the earth ele if that joke was missed). SD and ToP lich wing full of curses. NW, PF and ToP contruct wing disease and poisons is being thrown around all over the place. Also all u locks out there u absolutly got an interrupt even u demo lock and u are even lucky to have a dispell in the felhunter aswell it will even increase ur dmg by dispelling because ur pet gets energy back.
It sometimes does feel like people swapping to DPS literally turn their brain off (or go into tunnel-mode). I play Beartank myself and arguing with mages why they did 0 decurses in a ToP/SD has to be one of my most triggering experiences... Yes, doing dps is your job, but tanking and staying alive is mine, sometimes I just don't have the GCD to decurse you, Mr. Mage - If only you would understand that this 1 GCD you use on decurse (even if only on yourself) is the biggest dps increase you can get - By not inspecting the floor :D
Blizzard does a terrible job of showing dispellable enemy buffs on default nameplates. I really wish they did more than just show the dispellable buff on the target unitframe, like addons do it.
Oh boy, talking about offensive dispels to steal giant shields while showing Hakkar is surely not gonna result in people being confused as fuck as to why they can't manage to dispel Hakkar's shield. Questionable choice of editing.
TRUUUUUUUE :D he should've shown ghost before hakkar and mage trying to spellsteal them :D Nice mob is ToP 2nd pack before 1st boss, also 1st pull in MotS and the shield guys after 2nd boss in MotS.. sooo many clips he could've done
Completely agree. All the advice he shouts is good but the editing on that shield is questionable. A way better boss to show would have been the trio fight in Theater of Pain, where a lot of people don't know that the giant shield and focus is actually an enrage, that is dispellable.
The fact that this video seems to focus more on defensive dispelling then offensive really wierds me out, I would've expected it to be the other way around.
Starts the video and see holy priest... wtf.. in shock! lol I mean, is this actually Mike on a holy priest or borrowed footage?! lol Seeing Venthyr not Night Fae for a holy priest now makes me so sad cos fuck me it's SO GOOD!! I think Blizzard did a piss poor job of explaining Night Fae priest ability. Looks super cumbersome on paper. When it's the best shit for at least holy and shadow. Anyway, let me watch this! lol Yeah, it's not just a healer's job to dispel anymore ever since they put a cd on the healers dispel. Lovely feather macro here btw.. Method Holy Priest Guide - Shadowlands 9.0.5 - Interface And Macros so you can put it where you would have your sprint or any speed boost. (what have you disabled links? Anyway, you can find it on methods holy priest guide) Still gonna say it again.. Decursive is great for a dps who is trying to learn how to help dispel. There's this cute drop down menu of what is currently on people, The best thing for me is on a dps i don't want my vuhdo out. and decursive does enough and gives me an audible ding when there's shit I can do or even MCed people I can sheep.
A small side note that some people might find useful!

/cast [@mouseover,help,exists] Dispel;Dispel
What this does is allows for mouseover dispels IF you can help the thing you're mousing over. If you have no mouseover, you dispel yourself.
Slight correction/clarification: The second Dispel uses that ability on your target, so if you have a friendly as your target it will try to dispel them and if you have an enemy as your target it will do nothing. You need to have autoselfcast enabled (which it is by default, I think) for it to dispel yourself, otherwise the macro would have to look something like
"/use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player]Dispel".
You can also use "[]" after the first condition, making the ";dispel" unnecessary, you also want to use "nodead" instead of "exists".
Knowing that "/use [@mouseover,help,exists][]Dispel" also works can come in handy once your macros get to long, due to being e.g. help/harm.
@@Opharg sure, fair enough. Coming from a tank/dps perspective, I guess I don't need those extra conditionals.
@@Opharg nice. exactly what i was looking for. had issues with a help/harm macro and i couldn't self heal without targeting myself.
edit: actually, just tested it and my harm part of the macro no longer works.
this is what i'm using:
/use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player] healing surge; [harm] lava burst
healing surge works fine, but if i target a dummy, it still casts healing surge instead of lava burst.
edit 2: ok i swapped lava burst to be first, and it works now.
/use [@target,harm,exists] lava burst; [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead][@player] healing surge
edit 3: OK. Issue with the one above is that it casts lava surge if i'm targeting an enemy and ignores mouseover which could be quite annoying having to switch to a friendly target or esc til no target to cast healing surge. So to fix this:
/use [@mouseover,help,nodead][@target,help,nodead] healing surge; [harm, nodead] lava burst; [@player] healing surge
Thank you.
dispell the target: problem solved years ago.
5:10 One thing to note, Mouseover macros like the one shown on screen don't work for mouse buttons, so if you want your cleanse to be mouseover and bound to a mouse button, you need to download an addon such as Clique.
THANK YOUUUUUU ! LINKING THIS TO LITERALLY EVERY GOD DAMN HEALER, MAGE AND WARLOCK I KNOW
Pretty sure all hybrids can dispel, at least my tank hybrids can
@@SimplyConeh I am pretty sure like, EVERYONE but warriors can dispell. Even rogues can.
@@EdyGlockenspiel Ech... I'm getting jumbled up by the weird terminology preach used in the video. Who has EVER said defensive and offensive dispels? Anyway, I meant dispelling as opposed to purge/soothe, as I figured that was why you called out healers, mages and warlocks :)
Tangent: I think preach wanted to make up a fancy new terminology that wasn't engrained in the community to help new players, but instead he made it damn confusing and old players won't change their lingo anyway, so a new player wouldn't know about purge/soothe anyway, since it wasn't mentioned in this video
You just have missed the point I think, healers always dispel, it's dpsers and tanks that must learn how to, and also it's not only mages and locks. If you play warrior for example you can remove immunity from mobs [Shattering Throw].
@@dpop8378 Healers NEVER dispell. I would say roughly 2/10 healers I group with don't even know they can remove debuffs. Wtf are you talking about?
If there's one thing I learned playing Classic WoW on a PvP server, it's how to dispell.
I learnt that from playing retail.
Most nameplates show a buff on the target that glows if it's dispellable.
Lol this was a solid gag. Concerning how much i laughed.
@@SimplyConeh Keep failing my dude while blaming the healer :D
If dispells/interrupts gave a dmg buff, everyone would suddenly care about it lol, not wiping is not good enough for some people
You'd think, but Demon hunters do gain Dps from dispelling and purging, and they still don't do it.
Mages can spellsteal buffs but so many don't even have it keybound lol
awesome thanks for the video. i understand slightly better now. i had to research my own class and racial ability to see what it does and just learned it was a dispel. i came to wow during WoD
Oh thank god. Hopefully people see this one and think "Oh, so that's why people get so mad at me during dungeons"

Love it, mostly pug mythic+ dps rarely dispels, but I play multi toons so realize the benefits
I really really agreed on your situation inside the Necrotic Wake with the fear skeleton, with my recent pugs Ive played Shaman healer, and I've pre-cast Tremor Totem just in case someone missed the interrupt and o'boy has that been helpful.
Also take note when Preach used Shackle Undead on that caster in the pack after the aoe fear, as a warrior tank I appreciate that.
No problem I can dispel! Just a sec... or 6 seconds rather... summoning my pet...
If you’re using standard wow ui and is in a party. The icon of Your party member Will have a purple outlining If They have a debuff on them that you can remove
In raid frames you'll also see a small blue circle icon in the right corner of the frame showing they have something you can dispel.
@@RussPet84 or a green liquid drop
@@anonimas12 yeah I think it depends on the type in question, drop is poison, the blue circle is magic and curses I think
Mouseover macro's are incredible. I'll add that you can have ones that perform two alternate actions. Priests for example can dispell offensively and defensively... you can place them in one macro that will switch depending on what your mouse is hovering over.

Ah here we go bois, some top down preach guides.
I would love to see your take on Pack controll from an organized group pov.
Pretty sure the shields in NW aren't stealable? The ghosts in the hakar wing in DoS have the same buff as the Zul mobs though, mustn't steal them.
@@martynjeffries937 Are they not? Don't play mage normally so I just know the normal dispels.
While this sounds more sour than i intend it to be i have to say i greatly admire Preach' for his conviction and persistence in making this type of content in a time where the games' greatly influenced by what is happening in the company behind it. People like preach will keep the flamebearers to better times of this game again:)
As a ret paladin I ran decursive and used that to help dispel things like slows and really shitty dots
good lad/lass!
06:31 Mages you can decurse.
Mages Fuuuuuu.....You.
Someone said that in a legacy video somewhere.
Being a paladin tank, dispel is a god send for all the diseases and poison effects that are out there.
same for brewmasters, druids too.
dispeling? instantly remind me legacy of the warrior...This guy is nucking futs!
These basics video is awesome please give us more
Weakauras is a godsend. I've set up auras on every toon so if something appears on me or my target it'll let me know I 1. Am able to dispell 2. My dispell is off cd. Seriously using weakauras to it's full potential feels like I'm cheating sometimes.
side note:
"/use[@mouseover,help,nodead][@player] Defensive dispel spell name;" - this will dispel on mouseover on friendly raid/party frames and if you are not mouseovering it will dispel your character.
God I remember spamming decursive for Chromaggus back in Blackwing Lair. Damn near broke my keyboard.
Hey wtf.. i am a mage and i decurse all the time. In fact I'm often the only one in groups - LOOKING AT YOU DRUIDS -_-
Same thing here. Decursive is great for this. Throw in the vast number of stuff we Mages can spell steal and we become even more useful and powerful.
Guardian Druid here ... I appreciate you man.
The amount of times I "have to" decurse mages in my groups gives me serious classic-flashbacks.
I even had some dying to a curse and blaming me/the healer - when asked why they didn't decurse themselves I got stuff like "My job is to dps, not do your job"
...
You can macro feather to auto cast at your feet and have a mod if you want to share it

I play mage and have been since start. but one of my best time trolling in raids was in Wrath playing my protpalla, the stack arcane mages got from casting arcane blast was a dispellable debuff so dispelling that stack and while they where clueless about why the dmg they did was so low
you should probably look up what trolling means

When it comes to the dispel macro, you may want to use this instead:
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover, exists, help] [exists, help] [self] {spell name}
This means that your dispel ability will target your mouseover target, then your current target, and then yourself.
DAMN MIKE , YOU HAVE MORE HAIR THAN ME AND I'M 29 XD

i seen a LFG asking for a shammy for PF 10. im just thinking to myself, why would you do that to yourself, they cant remove any of the dots.
Questionable choice of editing.
i thought the same. this is not helping.
Should have shown the hakkar trash, that has a stealable buff kappa.
Well actually if you look at the icon, it isn't blue or purple.
The fact that this video seems to focus more on defensive dispelling then offensive really wierds me out, I would've expected it to be the other way around.
I have noticed something. When I use a tranq. shot for an enrage, it seems the target also becomes more vulnerable, taking more dmg.
