The music of swordplay enhances the experience 100% I remember the first night my family got our black wii with wii sports resort included. I played this mode for what seemed like HOURS, it was so addictive and so fun. There's so many amazing themes in this game and it all just adds to my love for the game. I think this is my top Wii game.
I adore this soundtrack, the fact it stands up to the original Wii Sports theme is saying something. Only other thing I'd mention is the amazing Resort "motif" that we hear variations of throughout the game - played with varying instruments at different speeds.
Fun fact, the cycling road race music and swordplay showdown music are not just full .brstm (audio format of wii games) music files, rather, the game plays the sounds of instruments individually like a midi, so yes, the song is LITERALLY being composed as you play, most other songs in the game are just the audio files and not instruments i found this out just YESTERDAY, after extracting the iso on dolphin and getting into the games files, I was trying to find the brstm to the road race music so i could use it in mario kart wii custom music, my mind was blown when i tried playing a file that was just a single instrument
This video just reminds me how much I want a remake or new entry in the series that just adds onto everything wuhu island has. All I want is to walk around wuhu island, having a giant hub world where you can meet other players, see everyone heading to the bowling alley or other sports. It would be perfect. I'm hoping we still have another chance to get this! Like Mario Party Superstars coming along and undoing what super mario party did.
What I would want is an ultimate Mii game, where we can freely travel in all the locations of all the Mii games. Wuhu Island, Street Pass Plaza and the areas of all its minigames, the island of Tomodachi, Miitopia... and with recurring characters. For example, we would meet the 10 heroes of Miitopia, who turn out to also be the main characters of the Street Pass minigames. The Knight would be the hero of Find Mii, the Flower would be the main character of Flower Town, the Tank would be the main character of Mii Force and paired up with the main character of Ninja Launcher that he would use as ammo sometimes, the Princess would be the main character of Warrior's Way and so on and so forth. Of course we would also have characters like Matt, Nikki, the secondary characters from the Street Pass minigames like Coraline or Iris Archwell and many others. Spocco Square from Switch Sports would also be there, with the Sportmates working as rivals for the Miis, and the two wouldn't like each other a lot. And we could basically walk around freely in all thes areas, participating in activities, sports, fights against monsters... We would be able to fully personalize our Mii, with the Tomodachi Island clothing shop allowing us to purchase new outfits. In fact, I think that this island would be the starting area, and we could create up to 100 Miis that we can play as and that would live in the appartments. We could change the Mii we play as either through a menu or by entering their appartment and talking to them. The campground would be where you encounter other players' miis via the online system. And most buildings, like the Concert Hall would allow you to participate in various activities, both on Tomodachi Island and in other places. Instead of being for sharing stuff, the plane will carry you from place to place. The tower would keep you updated on stuff kinda like in Splatoon. Oh yeah also, considering the huge variety of landscapes that we would visit... Photo mode. While taking photos you could add Miis from the appartments or pose with your friends. And the Photo Studio would allow us to share the photos, edit them, and all that... I have many more ideas, but this is already long enough so I'll just say this. Nintendo hire me. No I'm kidding. I mean I wouldn't mind ^^' But what I meant to say is that I'm sure everyone would love being able to explore the entirety of the Mii World, and I'm sure it would be a great experience if done right.
The Wii universe is so vivid. When I was young it felt like such a real world. With so many mysteries that were yet to unravel. The characters actually showed a good amount of emotion when they acted surprised, sad or just happy. The Wuhu Island itself just felt so large and alive. Not to mention all the other places in the party games and sports. That mixed with a great soundtrack gives me such an unexplainable feeling.
this game feels so good to play. it feels like a lot of love and dedication was put into it. well crafted game - everything is so well put together. they don’t make games like these anymore

But all the other music and especially the small sound design (like the skydiving music in the plane and the bowling hall music) is phenomenal.
GASP! You love free falling in Island flyover too!? This game is one of my all time favorites. I'm so glad I never got rid of my Wii. I would love for Nintendo to release a deluxe version of this. It would be deluxe due to the open world ability and miis having dialog.

also, you missed a little tiny Easteregg left inside the island flyover mode. If you fly around the light house you'll hear Morse code that sounds, "Why does anyone use Morse code anymore?" "Good question." "Morse code takes forever." "It sure does." "Does anyone out there know Morse code?" "Sorry. Use your radio." "If anyone copies any other messages, let me know. 73’s!" Its an awesome use of sound design especially when it fades in underneath the sounds of your engine. Wuhu island has such a lively atmosphere and joyful whimsical feel to it. It feels almost magical how much the developers cared about this simple sports game for the Wii.

Mate, you forgot the drum layer in swordplay gets more elements added to it the more miis are surrounding you. First just the kick, then hats, then snares, then cymbals.
I'm glad I grew up with this game also the bowling results is the best song in the game. It's so peaceful and it makes you feel so happy. I'm very nostalgic for this game.
Wii sports resort has such a happy sounding great soundtrack, I really wish I would’ve had it on my Wii because I loved Wii sports but unfortunately my family never had Wii motion plus

Also, while Nintendo Switch Sports may not have unique intro + outro themes (except for Bowling and Golf) it still has amazing songs for each sport, including unique replay varients.
It’s impossible to play this game or listen to any of its music without smiling. Such a feel-good, charming experience.
