I LOVE Sheer Lovely. You have your douse yourself in it, it’s that light.
funnily enough I find it very noticeable on my skin, but that’s because it doesn’t suit me unfortunately!
Same here. It is beautiful but not easy to get here. I ordered from the UK. Her fragrances are gorgeous.
These notes sound right up my alley! Summer or not, I can't wait to get my hands on this. This seems to be available in the UK and the US.... I need it to come to Canada. Thank you for reviewing this so quickly!

I want to jump into that bottle and swim around. The original Lovely is one of my all time favorites. I’ve loved musks since high school❣️

I love this perfume and have already bought six bottles (as I have heard it is a limited edition). Totally agree, it is not at all typical summer scent.
I can already tell that I’m gonna love this when it’s cooler weather - I keep smelling the sprayer!
I will be looking for this one. Not available in Europe just checked but will keep looking. I am really loving the original and Sheer.
It came out here in such a low-key way - maybe there will be some advertising when it’s released outside the UK!
Fragrantica doesn’t even have it listed yet. Unfortunately. I wonder if she will do all 4 seasons… Lovely Summer, Spring, Winter, Autumn.

Thanks for this review, I've been eagerly awaiting your thoughts on this. 😀 Bizzarely from your description this would be a high heat perfume for me in the late evening. I wear The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine on summer evenings, and it's quite a heady scent. It gives me the sense of a dry, arid environment in the desert, or perhaps a middle eastern bazaar 😀I think summer fragrances for me don't necessarily have to beachy. Looking forward to trying this.
I can definitely imagine it as an evening scent. I guess it has that dr feeling you get from Dior Dune, but it’s also quite spicy….. I think golden musk + spice just feels cosy to me and I just don’t crave cosy scents in warm weather personally! it’s a lush perfume though, can wait to try it again when everything cools down!

her brand is my absolute favourite from the celebrity arena - they’re generally more sophisticated than the normal offerings
Absolutely love SJP collection. I fell in love with the original LOVELY nearly 2 decades ago and discovered that it's an exact dupe of Narciso Rodriguez Her EDT (the black bottle), I got Stash and am looking for Covet.
Definitely gonna start looking for this one too. I don't care it's not summery. 😅

I have Stash, which is fab, and I understood that she's got a very good nose for fragrances, so the fact this new one seems to have been misnamed doesn't sound like her at all. From your take on it I can't see the link with summer either, but super interested to find out.
I honestly suspect that SJP wears musks all year round! maybe the marketing is purely due to the release date and not the scent? or maybe it’s just me who doesn’t feel warm spicy musks are very summery?! it’s also possible that I’m just an oddball 😂
Thanks for this review. It sounds great. Does it have a coconutty sandalwood note? You compare it to amber musk which to me smells fairly coconut and has sweetness.
It's definitely got a sweetness but I wouldn't describe it as coconutty. It's more like Molocule 04 creamy soft sandalwood! That's just my nose of course :)
I have this perfume, I can assure you that it does not smell like coconut or tropical or anything summery, to me it smells very powdery, almost like a 1950’s powdery perfumes, smells like agent provocateur maitresse, that is also very powdery vintage type smell . But I do like the lovely summer and it lasts foreeeeveeeerr on the skin.

Oooh I just tried this and I think SJP is having a laugh with us all with the confusion she has created with this bottle :D I expected fresh, clean, watery, aquatic... and what I got was a terrible first hour of sneezy ambrette, followed by a gorgeous rendition of 90's Wild Musk, which 4 hours later, is still going strong. Very nice ambery musky warm skin scent. This is limited edition, right?
I’m glad someone else recognised the wild musk vibe! on fragrantica it’s top comparison is Born Lovely and I don’t think they smell similar in the slightest 😅 it doesn’t say limited edition on her site so hopefully not, because I will wear the heck out of this in cooler weather. it’s like a comfort blanket. I totally think SJP would wear this in summer so maybe she just thinks of warm musks as summery?!
@@skinscentsforfusspots I don’t recognise Born Lovely or the original for that matter, here at all. I do quite like that the marketing aesthetic is so deceiving, hehe, and that I was pretty repulsed by it on first sniff but it morphed into something really beautiful. Makes being a perfume lover much more interesting when these kind of things happen.

To me this smells very powdery, like a vintage powdery perfume, imo this smells like Agent provocateur maitresse ( gold bottle )
I’ve never had the chance to smell Maitress! I agree that it smells vintage though. it’s got a classic 80s musky vibe which is why I don’t think it matches the bottle or name!
@@skinscentsforfusspots I agree, the smell and the name definitely does not match the bottle, the bottle reminds me of Davidoff cool waters but it does not smell fresh or lemony or summery at all. I mean looking at the bottle I thought it would’ve had a similar vibe to Tom Ford’s neroli portofino or D&G light blue but no it doesn’t, it has this old fashioned powdery smell and not a very “lovely summer” scent at all lol
Wow it sounds really nice but they were way off with the blue summer bottle and the notes of the perfume.

it’s a very unisex wood scent. leans masculine to some but not to me! loooooove Stash - I think it smells like a log cabin at Christmas ❤️
I have the oil and perfume and the hair mist, so I’m hoping that will see me through for quite some time!
It smells like NYC Summer. It's not a beach thing or tropical thing. It's the street fair, music in the streets at night, movies on the rooftop thing. Summer isn't always about beaches and islands or riviera. The summer summer scene in urban centers is what this scent speaks to. Skin musk and Egyptian musk are awso.e layered with almost any other scent...
That’s interesting! I’ve only been to NYC once so I can’t comment on how it smells lol. To be clear I don’t think summer perfumes have to be beachy - I actually don’t wear beach scents, I’m a clean laundry / light fruits / tea perfume gal in summer - but the marketing for this perfume is a turquoise bottle, in sand, on a beach and SJP on a beach….. so what I said in this review is that it’s a great perfume which doesn’t match the marketing. If it was marketed with pictures of the bottle (maybe a different coloured glass!) and SJP at a NY Street Fair, in the evening, it would have made more sense for the juice to be a warm, spicy golden musk?! I would have called this perfume Lovely Skin myself!
@@skinscentsforfusspots or her at the Caribbean Day parade aka Carnival....or the powder festival where blue is VERY dominant. However with this genre of beauty products, I agree the color could be different to imply something else.
Maybe a better name would’ve been Lovely End of Summer and/or Early Autumn. lol

Also Lovely Skin, Lovely nights, Lovely Spice, Lovely white blossom, or Lovely musk.
What an unusual choice by the marketing team to try and sell it as a summer scent. I just had a quick Google and see that superdrug have it online too, I might see if they have a tester in store as I'm really trying not to blind buy!
