I remember watching this when it aired. Jordyn looks so tiny here. She has grown so much. She was amazing here, as a 13 year old. She has really improved a lot, especially on floor.
im in love with her third pass. 2.5 with a rebound front lay i love the way she spots the ground on her front layout before she rotates, she makes it look so light and effortles :) 2012 here we come
I can't get over her last pass. Amazing! Jordyn is my favorite gymnast, and im soooo happy she won. She had an incredible competition- especially considering she is only 13!!
Wow! She has come such a far way from here it's awesome seeing her grow throughout the years in her gymnastics now she has a double double planning a double layout a triple twist and a double pike on floor wow! Go JORDYN!
I love watching gymnastics from Korbut and Comaneci's time. Gymnastics back then was so elegant and fun to watch. These days, I feel like it's just all about the jumps and tumbles.
I guess I am an old fuddy-duddy, but these routines are so different now than they once were. There was a real element of dance that used to tie all the skills together in something more beautiful than just "stop and start" tumbling routines that they do today. I guess that is because to get the height and number of twists required today you have no choice but to stop and run to get that power. Look at Korbut's floor exercise in '72 or Comăneci's in '76 and you can see the difference. They held your attention and were sparkling. :-)
but wow this makes me wanna cry. the way she stuck thay double pike at the end. freaking amazing.i cant believe she was that great even back then. im so proud of the american team for winning gold. i looove the fab five. just wow
I don't understand why people don't like this kind of upbeat, fun music. It's kind of like Dominique Moceanu's "Devil Went Down to Georgia" or Carly Patterson's "Mr. Pinstripe Suit". I know it's called "artistic gymnastics", but I like it when gymnast have this kind of music, because they tend to let loose on floor. It makes them perform better.
Oh she is a fighter! I love how she digs her toes into the floor to stick every one of those leaps, jumps, and tumbling passes. A lot of girls, even at this level, give up those points.
I can't believe she's only a year older than me. 13! Wow... She is the first gymnast since i saw Nadia Comaneci's performances that has shown the spunkiness that I adore.
Wow, she's amazing. I can't stand her music or her choreography but most juniors have horrible music so I can't judge her on that yet. I'm just hoping she doesn't peak too early.
But this wasn't the junior comp. Jordyn competed in the senior Am Cup. She was allowed to as a junior because it was held in her host country and it wasn't a World Cup event yet
When did she upgrade to the double-double for her first pass?? Here was still a full in, just curious, I want to compare her first one to her 2012 TF one.
The best parts of Jordyn's floor exercise performance is where she tumbles from one corner of the Floor to another, and, 0:51, lying down on the floor.
Ya gotta love a sport where you're a veteran at age 13, lol. Crazy.
'looks like she has been around for years!' "Well she hasss, she is 13" hahahaha
I'm also thirteen... now I feel like a potato
-"looks like shes been around for years!"
-" she has! shes 13!"
elite gymnastics makes my life feel so unproductive and untalented
After she sticks the landing on her third tumbling pass, I hear her coach yell YES!
John Geddert. Search his name up. Don’t mention her coach.
@@nathan10120 what happened?
@@nathan10120 You said that to a person who wrote it 8 years ago...

Gosh, I remember when this first aired. She's so little, and now she's in London with team gold.
I love watching gymnastics from Korbut and Comaneci's time. Gymnastics back then was so elegant and fun to watch. These days, I feel like it's just all about the jumps and tumbles.

Michael Barnhart yeah sorry this isn't a dance competition
@Star Tetrahedron Not anyone really.
I think you see a lot more of a dancing element in NCAA artistic gymnastics than elite competitions. Not sure why
She can't be 13!! she's just too amazing!!

YAWN YAWN YAWN. Great 4 more years of every gymnast opening with the same passes, ending with a double pike. Wahoo!
They are good
After the 2 1/2 twist combo, you just hear someone say, "YES!"
Ohhh I miss the 1990-s when they dismounted with triple fulls, full-ins, Bontas` and Gutsu`s double layout dismounts and more skills.
amazin
But this wasn't the junior comp. Jordyn competed in the senior Am Cup. She was allowed to as a junior because it was held in her host country and it wasn't a World Cup event yet

Double Pike at thirteen? What!!?!?! I'm thirteen and the best I can do is a backwalkover!! You go Jo ;)
She was a junior!
@Elififa I have a feeling she's pretty busy with training...and she's only 13.
she is sooo little soo cute :)) but the smile is THE SAME :))
her skin glows!
Rest in Peace John Geddert.
absolutely, Wieber does the best double pikes I've ever seen in my whole life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A highly jazzed Perkins/Elvis medley: "Blue Suede Shoes", then "Heartbreak Hotel".
When did she upgrade to the double-double for her first pass?? Here was still a full in, just curious, I want to compare her first one to her 2012 TF one.
The 2010 Covergirl Classic
I love Jordyn and Geddert in the background!! Hahaaa
wow she is young but very talented
The best parts of Jordyn's floor exercise performance is where she tumbles from one corner of the Floor to another, and, 0:51, lying down on the floor.
Wow she is good
